Good value tapas restaurant in Ventnor. Friendly service, good selection including veggie options. It is worth booking a table to ensure you get a nice table as this place gets busy. The kind owners have recently informed me that they took the feedback from customers seriously and remedied the damp smell downstairs with a new floor and an atmospheric log fire.

Belive this is more so Spanish food. Nice setting great food can be a little quiet in winter season. Best in summer months great atmosphere then.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times and am hoping to go tonight(Sunday) if there is room. It’s an amazing place to eat. I would eat there everyday if I had the chance. And I love the beautiful Spanish guitar music. It is a simply divine place to eat and soak up the imaginative Spanish atmosphere. I love the Spanish Omelet and the variety of other tasty authentic dishes.

This is a great place for a full tapas meal or just a glass of red and some fresh serrano ham for lunch. On the main menu we love the stuffed peppers, chorizo in cider and the tiger prawns. The paella is superb and portions really generous. The place is tiny and intimate; you feel more like you are dining in Lorraine’s home than in a restaurant. Whenever we go, Serafin has come up with some tempting new special so we have to keep going back and taking all our visitors.

Quite an unexpected find in Ventnor, probably a sign that the place is inching(in an Isle of Wight sort of way) upmarket. Nevertheless Lorraine and Serafin cook up a wide variety of tapas dishes from the familiar chorizos and paella to the less familiar — usually whatever appears on the specials board! Complemented by a variety of interesting beverages that includes imported Spanish cider(and the Pedro Ximenes won’t have run out next time). Not cheap dining but super quality and interesting food. The place is very small, so either book ahead or go at a quiet time — say the middle of the afternoon! (Hopefully the Qype category will have changed from Italian by the time you read this)
