Lovely independent café in the heart of Wakefield. They run jazz nights and poetry sessions too. The cakes are HUGE! Friendly location and very popular with locals. Is currently sandwiched between two other cafes — another independent which can’t seem to decide on its identity and a Costa which, although being a chain, is actually a good one as it’s really cosy. You get free wifi at Mocca Moocho(which you can still access at the café next door if you want to be really sneaky) but then you wouldn’t get that huge slice of cake…

Mocca-Moocha is a café situated opposite the Sony Centre Shop and Cathedral in Wakefield. It serves the usual coffees and teas, as well as iced coffees and iced smoothies. A pleasing selection of home-made cakes and scones and other treats tempt the taste-buds, with panninis, cebattas and wraps being the main part of the sandwich selection. Everything is well-made and the staff are courteous and friendly. Still looks pretty good though, and head and heels above the other cafes in town(yuck) and especially when compared to what it used to look like six years ago before it became Mocca-Moocha. If you have read my other reviews you will realise I am a design snob(!). Adequate seating inside and out, all food is placed on display and the prices are reasonable in comparison to the large franchises and chains throughout the town, and i would choose this place and Grind coffee shop above them any day. It is very popular being in an ideal location. Keep on going Mocca-Moocha! I will update this review as this café improves!

One of the best independent coffee shops in Wakefield. Sells a wide range of sandwiches for when you are peckish! Coffee quality is great!
