I took my youngest son and his family«back home» to Wallasey this week and we needed somewhere to eat lunch. The Seaside Café looked like a family-friendly place — this was important with two toddlers! They not only looked after us superbly, the food was extremely good and very reasonably priced — for a whole family to eat heartily for under fifty pounds struck me as a bargain. The fish and chips was well cooked and very tasty — this was no mean feat as my wife and I spent a week in Whitby recently, where we watched the catches come in then be cooked! The alternatives were basic but equally tasty and all hand-cooked(no «chicken ding» here!). All-in-all, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a simple, well-cooked meal that doesn’t cost the earth and in friendly surroundings.

Popped in to Seaside Café for fish & chips before going to a show at the Floral Pavilion. Had the the perfect combo meal deal of fish & chips, mushy peas, salad, bread & butter and a lovely pot of tea! My daughter had the kids meal which is a slightly(only slightly) smaller version and comes with a drink. Look to the board above the counter to see this option — it’s not listed on the laminated menu. We would definitely go back. This is a great little place with plenty of seating inside. They also do takeaway. It’s good to support a local business too, rather than one of the ubiquitous chain restaurants.
