Popped in here when in desperate need of a half-decent light lunch as an alternative to the army of chains in Welwyn Garden City. It was nice enough. The menu of sandwiches, wraps, salads JPs and soups is split over a series of huge blackboards which makes me think this must be a popular place for lunch in Welwyn on a week day. It was pretty packed on a Sunday for that matter too! The best way I can describe Bebo is like a big sandwich shop which does coffee and tea and a selection of cakes on the side. It’s grab and go stuff done in a nice way but nothing really stood out for me.

I really had high hopes for this café, from the outside it had a hipster kind of vibe, but it ended up remarkably average. The staff were quite rude and despondent, I had forgotten my contacts and so asked for help with the menu and was offered none, the staff were arguing with each other and just looked generally miserable. Unable to find a wrap that looked vaguely recognisable, I took a risk and ordered the chicken satay wrap. The atmosphere inside was nice enough among the customers, lots of big groups of young people having a coffee, but the staff continued to snap at each other, which made me feel pretty awkward, so I decided to hide from the scowls on one of their outside tables in order to satisfy my much loved nicotine craving. We had just had a brief storm, so the tables and chairs were soaked, and we were soon greeted by a rather reluctant staff member wiping the tables and chairs with some paper towels– a nice touch but a little awkward. The food arrived almost immediately, which was great, but unfortunately wasn’t all that nice. The presentation was lovely, but despite the flavour being a great mix(peanut butter and chilli, who knew?) the chicken was so dry that I ended up giving most of it to my eat-anything boyfriend. The salad that came with it however was mega-fresh and really lovely. A pretty average place to go, but mostly my experience was tinted a little by the staff(but who can blame them after a long not so busy day?). I would definitely go again to try their interesting and varied menu, and maybe catch the staff on a more friendly day!

Best coffee shop in town, the tomato mozzarella and pesto panini never fails to sort me out, and the home-made cakes(especially cheesecakes) are awesome. Yes slightly pricey in comparison to popping to the supermarket, but worth every penny. Great atmosphere too!

Good location and nice interior but. I sat at a table filled with dirty cups etc whilst the staff chatted to their mates right beside me although she was repeatedly counselled to stay strong. so that’s okay then. Food over-priced the avocado was hard(not sure if they know that means unripe) and the brie was tasteless. Food came before drinks because the queue for coffee was too long. It would make more sense to make it a waiter/waitress service. No information on where to stand so we stood for a long time absolutely no-one asked if we were okay. Wouldn’t advise anyone to go there.

Not sure where the chaps below has been going because it clearly isn’t the same place I visit. This is the best coffee shop and deli in Welwyn Garden City. It has amazing food quality and the staff are always fantastic. You cannot get a seat in the place most of the time which says it all. Try the American Slam breakfast the best this aide of the Atlantic.

It’s not bad, reasonable range of food, salads, baguetts, breakfasts are all available. Seems a little overpriced though. But then, it’s not as overpriced as the John Lewis«Place to Eat» which has food of a similar level of quality.

When you want more than just any old coffee and a boxed sandwich that’s cold and tasteless do as I do, go to this place. Not cheap but the stuff here does not taste it either. Coffee here is second to none, and I have drunk the stuff in Italy, France, New York and Seattle. The sandwiches are just too nice. The breads are always freshly baked and still warm! I’m addicted and its hard to find an alternative now. Oh and they have free internet access and free wifi too. I here too long today, three double shot coffees a sandwich and cake too. I was 11 stone when I walked in and 12 when I walked out but finished my work too. I might sell my office and work out of here, but I could end up a real chubba!!.

There aren’t many places to eat or get a coffee in WGC that aren’t chains, so Bebo’s an oasis. It’s pretty simple — a coffee shop that you can get light bites. It’s usually pretty busy, but the service is fine and it’s all tastefully done. The falafel wrap is definitely worth a try.

A lovely, small café/coffee shop, in Starbucks style, selling a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, including delicious fruit teas. They also sell cakes and sandwiches. The fact that it is nearly always busy is a testament to how good it is.
