Fine. Just… kindof… fine. It’s not starbucks. There’s a lot of coffee shops in Welwyn, real close together, and the new Starbucks in the Howard Centre. Of course there is absolutely NOPARKINGEVER in Welwyn, unless you want to ram a grandma. Staff are lovely at the Nero, prices are standard over-priced chain store prices, but its a little cramped, and theres not always seats available, annoying; especially when you’ve bought a drink JUST to have somewhere to sit for half an hour. If you’re feeling risqué, there’s usually a few seats out front where you will be greeted and embraced by all the elements, and the fantastic bi-polar weather Britain is famous for– Welwyn maybe a Garden City, but it isn’t immune. Stick to Costa. They do frappes.

If you plan on spending your afternoon having a coffe and reading a book, I’d say this is a good place. Big windows and good light, good for just relaxing whilst having your coffee. I’d suggest you take some headphones and listen to your own music, as sometime this family friendly environment in this café means that you might be having children crying about.

The queue is often long here but is usually managed well by the staff so you aren’t waiting too long. There is a large range of food to choose from including sanwiches, pasta dishes(that can be heated up) and breakfast items. The café offers a loyalty card, where every 10th drink is free, which comes in handy. My only complaint is the extra charge for soya milk!

This is my favourtie coffee shop! There are lots in wgc to choose from, but this one wins out for me everytime. There is soft seating in the form of leather chairs and there are regular tables. The coffee is always good and never bitter. The staff are friendly and try to be quick as they can. The pastries are fresh baked, and I love going in the morning when they are still warm! They don’t charge for babychino’s either! Its never heavingly busy, but not too empty.
