Nice location but shame a chain has got it’s hands on this place. Could be so much better although the place was packed so it must be doing something right.
Can’t comment on the food as they couldn’t find us a table nor was anybody serving drinks at the bar so we ended up leaving… as I said, shame !

For cheap & cheerful pub grub you can’t go wrong at the Moorings. It’s a pub/restaurant that is part of the Fayre and Square chain which means that the menu is both extensive and reasonably priced. The canal side setting is attractive, especially on warm summer days as there is plenty of outdoor seating. I tried the ‘pie of 2 halves’ from their new menu which is filled half with chicken and half with beef. It was both delicious and enormous. Only order this if you’re seriously hungry! They have nice friendly bar staff and waiters and the place is kept nice and clean. Recommended.
