Inside the rooms can be described as either snug or small depending on your point of view. Either way the beer soon makes up for it. There’s a good range and it’s all reasonably good quality.

Nice little pub with good choice of beer. The hallway is decorated with a variety of coasters and the upstairs area looks like a very comfortable living room. Worth a visit.

Mostly York brewery beers to be found in this lovely looking pub(well it is behind the brewery’s gift shop), including the beer Yorkshire Terrier which is brewed especially for them. Four beers in total and only 2.60 a pint with a CAMRA card. They do food too.

A proper pub being itself for what it is. I.e. Not wallowing in heritage by association. Many York pubs make great play of some building having been there for centuries. That’s all fine but to me the beer comes first. Good choice of brews — good service. Nice place to be in. Prob best pub in York I’ve been to so far.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff! Stopped by after looking round the brewery shop to the front of the pub and checking out the menu. The steak and ale pie is a must!!! Cooked to perfection! Would definitely go again!

A nice little place this: the front is the beer shop of the York Brewery, but tucked away at the back is a small bar with another smallish room off, serving a really excellent range of real ales of the eponymous brewery. Beers include York Guzzler, Stonewall, Yorkshire Terrier and Centurion’s Ghost. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
