I didn’t expect to find myself eating takeout sushi in Buenos Aires! But we had been out on a day-long trip and eaten a parrillada at lunch, and just didn’t feel up to a long sit-down restaurant meal. Washoku was just around the corner and seemed like an easy dinner option. This is a takeout/delivery sushi place — there’s no seating in the small storefront, just a few chairs to sit and wait for your order. Most people seem to call ahead and pick up, but this created some logistical problems for us, so we just ordered in person. The menu is pretty typical, but surprisingly salmon-heavy and with a much smaller selection of fish than we’re used to in the U.S. Of the specialty rolls in the menu, only three *aren’t* salmon or shrimp(two veggie and one tuna). So the«tablas» sets will have several variations on salmon, just because there isn’t much else. For example, we got the Sora 2 set, which has salmon sashimi, shrimp nigiri, salmon nigiri, the Boston(salmon) roll, the Washoku(salmon) roll, and the Queen(shrimp) roll. Don’t get me wrong, I like salmon, but it’s a little weird. We also got the yakimeshi(fried rice) bowl with chicken. The portion was generous and came in a Styrofoam bowl that kept our food nice and hot. The fried rice looked pretty because of all the diced veggies, but was kind of bland and needed soy sauce. The chefs were very busy filling all the orders that came in via phone and walk-ins. I noticed that they had a shelf of what looked like pre-made rolls sitting behind the counter, so your food may not be made fresh. We waited a good 20 – 25 minutes or more for our order, which felt fairly slow for takeout. The hot dishes are the best value — almost all are under AR$ 105, and our fried rice bowl had a generous portion of meat. The sushi rolls and sets aren’t such a great value, especially considering the lack of variety. Getting free delivery(lazy) or calling ahead(fast) would probably improve the experience, but sitting for so long without being offered any tea or water while we waited was kind of a bummer. Recommended if you love salmon and your Spanish is good enough to call ahead for pick-up.

No es tanto para comer ahí si no para pedir. No como sushi así que no puedo opinar al respecto pero si puedo recomendar con mucho énfasis los yakimeshi. El pedido llega rápido y bien.
