Since everything continues to be outstanding here — its time to move them up to five stars. Interesting menu, nice wines, and wonderful people watching and ocean viewing. Absolutely no complaints. This is as relaxing as it gets on a hot afternoon. Sitting inside would be a mistake. The place is popular, so come a bit late for lunch.

Best cheese burger and guacamole in Dee Why! Don’t forget the sweet potato fries. I went in nearly and they were nearly closing and they still took my order. The food was amazing and the chefs were cool too!

Come down to the Dee Why beach front and you can choose to dine at the Sand Bar, Sea Bar, Wok Bar, Burger Bar, Et Ceterah… very cute. So breakfast was at the Sand Bar. My local friend always drags me to the super expensive Sea Bar for breakfast and I have to admit, they do a damn AMAZING breakfast but sometimes you just want change from a thirty. Sand Bar has a great view of the gorgeous long Dee Why Beach & it’s occassional dolphins. It’s such a huge spacious café I kept thinking there’s no way my waitress will find me. But she did, and my food arrived much more promptly than I expected! My coffee was lovely and house made baked beans with wilted spinach & Persian fetta was not only perfection but… I(just) got change from a twenty.

Had breakfast here today, café was full and buzzing, so it was a nice atmosphere. The restaurant has nice ambience and is modern and clean! I had the Eggs Benedict with Smoked salmon($ 18.90). It was a very heathy serving, and I left very full! The bread was nicely toasted and eggs were perfectly poached. However, the hollandaise sauce was very sour and salty, balance the flavours considering the smoked salmon is already very salty. The eggs also needed a bit of seasoning. The price is on a higher end but I guess you pay for the beach view! Their coffee is of a high standard($ 4, again price is at the higher end). It’s not the cheapest café on the strip but it’s quality is pretty good!

Sandbar is one of many restaurants along Dee Why Strand with a beautiful view from a nice-looking restaurant. On pleasant nights, sitting outside on the balcony and watching the sky fade to black over the water is pretty special. The venue very simple décor, but looks extremely modern — while tiled floors are paired with blonde wood and a bar filled with a colourful selection of bottles. The food itself was ok — my chicken and avocado salad didn’t come with a great deal of chicken, and was absolutely drenched in dressing. My companion’s Barramundi was apparently very nice though, and the passionfruit pannacotta that we had for dessert was ah-mazing. The house wine was also surprisingly yummy. Value wise, it was about the same as everywhere else along the strip — for two people’s meals, drinks and dessert it set us(my date) back $ 84. In addition to dinners, Sandbar also does breakfast and lunch, as well as coffee and drinks.

Sandbar is modern australian food which has mouthwatering breakfast and lunch options. What I like about Sandbar is the variety of food however a favourite lunch here is the steak sandwiches, served on sour dough, swiss cheese, tomato, mushrooms and mustard. I have yet to dine here at night but heard glowing recommendations from famil and friends. For groups — split bills are not accepted. It is BYO with a $ 3 corkage fee. There is also a $ 2 surcharge on Sundays and Public holidays. With the recent visit I am very impressed with the restaurants lates accolades including winning Champion café for NSW/ACT and Best Café for the Northern Beaches. We are always happy with the breakfasts and lunches we have had here that is why we return.
