A different take on your traditional Thai and Japanese restaurants. This place has amazing fresh Asian meals to suit any tastes. All day dumplings are amazing(leek and prawn… mmmm) abd the mains never disappoint. Good portions, well priced and the best view in Dee why from the balcony tables!

A modern little beachside restaurant with a big variety of Asian flavours! Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indonesian even! This place is always busy, very popular with the DeeWhy locals and I can totally see why. At first I was just happy to come for the $ 6 dumpling plates, which are lovely, and I usually ordered a rice dish or noodles which isn’t bad either. But the other day I ventured out of my comfort zone and ordered the Roast Duck Red Curry and put simply, I was wowed from the first taste! The curry was so rich and flavoursome, and duck was so beautifully roasted, just falling straight off the bone. So my new favourite dish, the cheap prices, plus the great seaside atmosphere, as well as the friendly and helpful staff guarantees that I will be coming back again and again. I’ve already been twice this week!

Decent cheap lunch with lots of «street hawker type Asian» food alternatives. Great view of the beach and the Strand of Dee Why from this second floor location(first floor to Aussies). This isn’t a restaurant for an evening out, but it’s a good casual lunch alternative. I had a pad Thai dish that was tasty, with plenty of chicken, nice vegetables, a bit lacking in spice(which I was easily able to change), and a nice tasty broth.

Wockbar is in both in Manly and Dee Why. The choice is diverse with street hawker type Asian food from Thailand, Vietnamese, Malaysia, China and Japan. Wockbar Dee Why is absolutely buzzing with people and aromas. I love Wockbar at Dee Why Beach not only for its atmosphere but also that the food which is cooked fresh and is served fast. There are lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options and it even serves up Yum-Cha from 11:30am. And what is my indulgence? Well when I order I always say: Wockbar Mee please? Wockbar Mee is a wheat noodle soup, topped with chicken, bok choy, broccoli, egg and tofu, mushroom sprouts. Fresh, simple and healthy the perfect three ingredients for a wonderful meal.

On a beautiful and warm Saturday night in Dee Why, Wok Bar is absolutely bustling. Warning — booking necessary! We book a table outside and are happy to be seated on the Balinese-style lounges on the balcony after a bit of a wait for a server. Packed as it may be, the service is phenomenal — we wait less than 5 minutes to order drinks and entrees, which are promptly delivered. The mixed dumplings plate was a good choice for two, as you can try all three. One is delicious, one is pretty good and one is slightly undercooked… two outta three ain’t bad! We order our mains, which are also good — the portions are extremely generous, although my chicken pad see ew has a considerable amount of onion on board. The meals are fresh-tasting and just plain yummy. I’m a huge fan of the Pad Thai and Wok Bar Stirfry Noodles. The meal is delicious and the service is great, although my companion notes, it’s not relaxing or chilled out — too many people for that! Try a week night, a lunch time or a less beautiful day to avoid the crowds!
