They opened the doors 5mins early and told me i could not come in for 5 minutes. Then i tried asking for help as i was new to the organic scene. It just seemed like such an effort for them. Not helpful at all. Browsing for 5 minutes or so i found everything was super expensive and they did not have what i was looking for. Would only shop here again if i was desperate and knew exactly what i needed.

An interesting experiment in how much people are willing to pay for health products driven by health fears. $ 27.99/kg for organic capsicums? $ 30/kg for organic mushrooms? Incredible. Laughing all the way to the organic bank. Novelty pricing aside, there are some good finds here. The dairy cabinet is a dream full of local full cream milk(non homogonised with cream on top), delicious cheese… The coffee here is also pretty decent. Just buy your veges somewhere else…

I sometimes go there to get flour I would not find in any supermarket. The café looked nice as well so we decided to give it a try for breakfast. When we came we were looking for a table and as we headed to one, one of the staff members came there as well, but as we quickly found out, not to say HELLO but just to look grumpy and to take one of the chairs. We then ordered a muesli with fresh fruits. Organic is good but to find that the fruits arent washed properly …

This place is like the hessian sack you put on the frame of your dog bed. It’s a bit rough. It’s a bit comfortable but you’re not sure that you like it(if you were a dog). The prices here are not the cheapest, but you can find cheap things here. If you’re gung ho into your organic wheats, rices, flours, seeds then by all means shop here. It’s not the kind of place you would do your grocery shopping in and it’s kind of a little out of the way to purposely go to get a specific item you couldn’t get somewhere else… just without the term ‘organic’ associated with it. I do like their chocolate. I do like their flour… although i’m not sure if it tastes any different from the non-organic, i’m not too fussed either way, I thought i’d make a cake with some different flour one day and voila here I was. The café is never really full and looks a bit weary, but the people are friendly and you can Unilocal to them all you want.

Wray Organic Indooroopilly is an all-in-one market and café, selling just about everything you could need, but organic. There’s no way I could afford to do all my shopping there, but for picking up some odd ingredients that can’t be found in supermarkets, it’s pretty good. The bulk bins are great as you can get just as much as you need. In bulk, they sell an extensive array of whole grains, flours, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate(the best dark chocolate I’ve ever tasted is their Rapunzal brand, Belgian and organic) and mueslis. They also have a huge range of organic skin care products, which I love. As for the café, it’s a bit hit and miss. Made daily, their salads, patties, and sandwiches, are usually pretty good, and they come up with some pretty creative combinations of ingredients. Their sweets, however, sometimes look as if they’ve been there a bit long. The café uses organic beans from Di Bella, usually a pretty good brew, but again, it’s hit and miss, depending on who makes it for you. If it’s in your area, not a bad place to treat as an expensive, but good quality corner store. Otherwise, I wouldn’t go out of your way to shop there.
