This is a favourite cellar door in the Hills for me & the kids for sure. Beautiful manicured grounds with lots of space for the kids to run around, excellent service, cheese board($ 30) and pizzas(weekends only). The tastings are knowledgable and enough variety of wines to please most palates(& budgets). The Golding family owns the winery and their wines are made by a few different winemakers including Brendan Keys from BK wines and female winemaker Natasha Mooney. My favourite Golding wine is the Rocco Shiraz, excellent example of a cool climate Shiraz. Only small quantities made so the current vintage(2013) is sold out and the next vintage will be released in winter. The two regional wine events I’ve attended here have been well set up(lovely tables & chairs, no massive lines for toilets or drinks/food) and pretty classy affairs with a cool vibe i.e. not catered for big piss ups like some other wineries. Winter Reds was inside the rustic looking, massive barn decorated with fairy lights(next to the tasting room) and last weekend’s Crush(Adelaide Hill’s wine & food festival held the weekend before Australia Day) was on their manicured lawns with a live band. I can’t wait to return in a few months to experience my first wedding here!

Outstanding wines and outstanding service. If there is a winery to go to in the adelaide hills Golding is it! The winery is just Gorgeous! The staff and owners are so friendly. I thought it was such a nice touch for the owner to actually be in the cellar door pouring our tasting and willing to sit and talk and have a joke with us. Love the red wines

Awesome wines, venue and wood-oven pizza on the weekends. The grounds are superb! A must visit to have a feed and stock up your wine cellar with great Adelaide Hills wines.

It’s hard to convince a winery now days that when you say«we have a group of 8 who’d like to visit your cellar door on a Saturday» that it isn’t some secret code for«free wine tour piss up!» Thankfully Golding Wines gets that and caters well for groups.** On a chilly Adelaide Hills afternoon we rocked up to this extravagant looking barn yard cellar door and were treated like the curious wine punters that we were. Service was incredibly friendly and those who were particularly curious about the wines, their artistic labels and the history of the winery were given all the time in the world, despite the place being busy at the time. So as we stood around in front of the fire, swirling our glasses of La Francesca Savingin through to Francis John Pinot Noir and beyond, the family(who own and run Golding Wines) proceeded to take us through where the creative concepts for their Market Series and Portrait Series wine labels came from — all very intertwined with the history of the family and their beginnings establishing this winery in Lenswood. There was a huge variety of stellar wines to try and we spent a good hour there being entertained and educated. On a side note for brides to be? Save up the big bucks and have your wedding here. The barn on the side of the cellar door is lit like something out of a fairy tale and is great for large groups. The rustic charm of the whole place would make for beautiful photos and with a wood oven able to make fresh pizzas at events, this place really is a perfect wedding venue. **For groups of 10 or more you do have to book prior, but for $ 5 per person you get a private tasting in a private room and get even more attention from one of the wine makers.

The Golding winery in the Adelaide Hills was a first class experience. I have been to many wineries in SA and Golding is one of the top ten for me. The view is spectacular and the building is both cosy and warm. A truly professional yet welcoming experience. The wine tasting is fabulous — they are happy to bring out some of the more unique wines. And the service is second to none! It feels like you are being both educated and entertained. The quality of the wines are great. They know their stuff! There is a restaurant as well — although we didn’t eat there. Next time I will though. I rate Golding very highly. Can’t wait to visit again.
