Male bartender/manager(short guy with dark hair aka«prick») is an ethnocentric douche that HATESAMERICANS and knows nothing about customer service). Here is exactly what happened: I traveled to Port Douglas for a few days with a buddy to explore the Great Barrier Reef. It was late February so it was in the off season and not very crowded. We had a wonderful time and were treated very well except by the douche male manager/bartender at Paddy’s Pub. After spending over $ 100 or so there Tuesday and Wednesday night, we made the mistake of going there again on Thursday night for happy hour at 9 pm. My buddy and I were with a 50 year old couple from Atlanta that were nice as could be. We all went to Paddy’s after a phenomenal dinner at Salsa. We ordered one round of drinks, moved to an empty part of the bar and quietly conversed with ourselves. The Atlanta couple wanted to buy my second drink so I approached the bar with them. We patiently waited for a bartender to wait on us. Unfortunately, the nice female bartenders of Paddy’s were busy so we had the bad luck of having the biggest(or littlest) prick in the place take our order. He came over and with zero warmth or friendliness impatiently asked what we wanted. Not remembering the drink deal from the night before, I asked what the happy hour bourbon deal was. He said Jim Beam and I asked whether they had a Johnny Red whisky deal like the other night. He said they did and I said, «Ok, I will have one of those.» He went and made it. He handed it to me and I said,“thank you.” The Atlanta couple paid him, tipped the jar and clearly stated, «Thank you.» He then said, «Can I ask you a question without offending you?» We said,“Sure, no problem, what’s up?” He said,“why don’t Americans say please?” He then went on a diatribe about Americans not saying please even though the rudest people in the at were clearly locals. I explained that I said thank you. The fact of the matter is, we ordered drinks, tipped him and thanked him, but apparently everyone else at the bar says, «Please may I have a beer, Sir? Thank you.» What a joke. He was starting some bs because he hates himself and his life. This guy should be fired and should not be in the service industry. Don’t go to Paddy’s if you are American. The 50 year old Atlanta man(former air force was so pissed he was ready to fight. The bartender’s comment was so out of line he pissed off a 50 year old man that was having the time of his life in Australia. Takes a huge prick to achieve this feet. Moreover, I would assume this guy is a racist too, so don’t go there is you are not a white or Australian. Paddy’s, you have a good place, get rid of this guy.

The wings are to die for, the staff are extremely friendly and beer is cheap! Great experience all round.

Had a really good lunch here during a day of retail therapy in Port Douglas. They pour a fine Guinness and the burger and bangers n mash were real good. Right on the main street in Port Douglas near everything.

Very friendly staff, ice cold beers on tap, above average pub fare, and cool A/C to boot! Loved it.

Pub food — meaning you order at the bar, then find a seat and they deliver your food. Live music so it’s loud in there — but the music was nice so that’s alright. The above the street — so if you’re a people watcher it’s a good spot for that. I had the Sunday pot roast and it was sliced a little thinner then I like but very flavorful and good. Not excellent — but very good.
