Good burger. A little too hipster. Went with my dad, and he seemed disoriented by the self-​consciousness.

Finally got round to trying this place after a year of saying I would, and really loved it.
Simple self-​serve place where you order at the counter and can sit inside or out. We all had the regular huxtaburger with fries, a coleslaw, and a coke (free refills).
I’d give the coleslaw a miss next time, but the burger/​fries are really tasty, and really hit the spot. I hate burgers that make you feel so full and greasy after, and huxta thankfully doesn’t do those.
I’ll return… often.

The Theo is the best burger I have ever eaten. Amazing flavour and texture.
From watching the chef, he takes pride in his work, he wasn’t just slapping stuff together like the toddlers at McD’s, he prepared the burgers like a professional.

HuxtaBurger is the bomb! It is simple, consistant and hits the spot evertime. Love this place.

I had seen some good reviews and was really looking forward to huxtaburger. Unfortunately it gets my first ever one star rating. The meat in the burgers was so cheap and low quality I can’t believe people eat it. Lots of gristle inside. What a major disappointment. The chips were great but it ends there. I hope they just had a bad batch and a bad night otherwise I would give it a big miss…

The Clair is the mother of all chicken burgers. Especially with the jalapeño mayo. Omg. So good

There’s no burger like Huxtaburger, soft sweet bun, melted cheese with jalapeño, on the top of juicy burger. It’s just gonna ruin your brain– never had enough.

As always give me all the burgers and then some! I am on a burger rampage at the moment and have been dying to try the famous huxtaburger. My burger was good, a good solid burger! Now had I have not heard so much hype about this place and it’s amazingness I would say my burger was great but you see I had very very high expectations set due to this hype so my burger was good. Good meat patties, lovely soft bun and all the bacon!!!
The price I found was actually sensational and so very reasonable, this gives them added points. I ordered on-​line popped down there 15 mins later right as my patties were being taken off the grill. Fresh juicy goodness come at me!

I would like to consider myself a burger connoisseur. Either that or my arteries HATE me. Having eaten at some of the best — Mr Burger, Rockwell & Sons, Babu… all the other Huxta-​sublings, Beer and Burger Bar, Andrews, Danny’s, The Merrywell, Brother Burger … The Dip and Mary’s, in Sydney… Ferburger, in NZ. It fair to say, I’ve had my fair share of delicious buns. Although some traditional, I can’t go past a beautiful brioche bun!
HuxtaBurger, Prahran is on par with its City and Smith Street counterparts, but it’s nice to see a decent burger joint open south of the Yarra (in addition to Mr Burger’s new perm set up).
I discovered the other day, you can now ORDER ONLINE! No need for me to make a phone call, from my office desk, and alert everyone else who’s working late (yet again) that I’m picking up a burger en route home, which I’ll pretty much inhale moments after I walk in the door! (People are so judgy about food choices). The process is simple — click on Prahran HB’s website, add whatever you want to the ‘cart’ (Denise and chips for me… oh and 50c extra for Bacon? Stopppppp itttt!). Proceed to the ‘checkout’ and either use PayPal or enter creditcard and other deets. Once you click that ‘enter’ button a confirmation message is sent to your phone, letting me know it’s a 12 minute wait.
I’m a bit confused that my order was just under $ 7 for a burger and chips, but saw some promotional material in-​store that it’s 50% off if you use PayPal to pay, so I guess it’s the same for using your creditcard online???
My only gripe is parking on High Street is not easy and having to illegally park to pick up my food could potentially mean a REALLY expensive burger.
One day my metabolism is going to catch up with me and it will be a scene from the incredible Hulk. Only, my clothes ripping from my protruding belly. Until that day comes, Imma keep eating these bad boys. HuxtaBurger, I’m a fan!

The burgers are really good. In the style of a Five Guys for a US perspective. They even have coca cola fountain drinks! My Huxtagurger was great and my kids devoured the Rudy.
So why not 5 stars? It may be peculiar to this location, but the giant sliding door opened every time anyone walked past on High St, which was a lot. So when it was open, cold air came in. When closed it hummed like being in an airplane. Which then forces you to account for the hard stool you’re sitting on at a table which is on a weird angle. And then you recognize the interior is like some MC Escher depth perception test. Aaaaahhhh!!! It’s okay. Deep breaths.
Food great, décor not so much. But that can be changed easily. Fix the door!

Wow, just wow.
I loved my Theo. It was absolutely amazing. Meat cooked to perfection… melted cheese, enough salad not to overpower and some wild crazy delicious sauce included.
I loved it, every bite of my burger and I will be back.
What an excellent 1^st time Huxtaburger experience!

I got the Denise and thought it was great. If you have lived in the US you will especially appreciate these burgers. Enjoy!

Huxtaburger III
Yep, you know what I am going to say. This place is just as good as the first two. It is your one stop shop for perfect, delicious, greasy burgers. They’ve got Denise, they’ve got Bill’s, they’ve got Theo and of course, they’ve got the Huxtaburger, itself. I don’t even know which one to recommend to you. They’re all spectacular:
* Theo. If you’re in a really hungry mood, if you are after the burger of burgers. Theo is what you’ll be wanting to order. Double patty, double cheese, BACON. What more could you ask for?
* Denise. This burger is sure to spice up your life, it is packed full of jalapeños and mustard. Make sure you purchase yourself a beverage with this one because it really packs a punch.
* Bill’s. The slightly healthier of the burgers. It has pineapple, it has beetroot, it has egg, it has bacon, it gives a massive flavourgasm that you cannot live without. My personal favourite.
* The Huxtaburger itself. The classic, the must try. It is the definition of a burger. Get around it.
Huxtaburger III does the name proud. I’m so very excited that there is now one of Chapel St that can offer me delicious burger after burger after burger. Love it.

Yes Folks, Huxtaburger 3 is finally in full swing. full flight, ready to fight!
Smart decisions from the owners; week days close at 10pm and
weekends the shop closes at 11pm. No need to deal with the late night
chapel street trash. This my friends is a very smart idea indeed.
I don’t like the idea of getting bashed or abused whilst eating my
huxta meal.
So it’s a miserable cold wet and windy Wednesday 13^th November, and
Huxtaburger 3 has chosen to open! Well, that certainly made for a nice
surprise and a reprieve from the bad weather. I almost didn’t make it;
There was only about 8 minutes to spare when I placed my order.
Huxtaburger 3, sits a stones throw away from the smith in high street
prahran. There is no liquor license here yet; it’s a while away on the
wait, maybe about a month away.
The crew are slowly getting their skills together; the Theo will come with
that excellent cooked qaulity factor. On the first night they ran out of
bacon, and my Theo was alright, but enjoyable. It was the end of a long
hard tiresome day, when in actuality they were probably scant on ingredients,
I’m sure they had a lot of customers through.

Is it as good as smith street? Hell yeah it is. Just as much delicious, generous burger sauce and a soft but crispy on the edge bun with a burger patty not too thick, not too thin. And it’s a great set up too. They have put in two long high bench tables that people just have to ‘first in best dressed’ cram onto (in a good way). Because of this it has a great buzzing atmosphere but I can imagine at night time it may be super competitive to grab a seat. The menu is exactly the same and there (will be) a great beer list when the license is approved. A couple of outside seats would really top this place off but I guess that’s up to council approval…
Burgers start from $ 8.50 for a standard and finish at $ 12.50 for one with the lot. There is a tofu option for vegos and ‘the ruby’ is a $ 5 kid option. A thousand trillion billion times better than maccas. And the patties are made of real beef: what more could you ask?!
