Avenue hotel is a cute hotel with cute furnishings and a good continental breakfast.
However, interactions with the staff were mixed. While the evening front desk staff were great, the woman that mans the desk in the morning was rude on a couple of occasions. She was solely focused on answering the phone and visibly frustrated when the phone was ringing and I had stopped at the desk with a question about my reservation. She also completely ignored us and was on the phone when we waited at the desk another time for help. We left after about five minutes when she hadn’t acknowledged us. From our perspective, this was an issue with basic customer service.
In addition, it is about a 15 – 20 min walk from the major attractions. Probably not best in winter or when you only have a couple of days.
This hotel is a good value but I’ll be upgrading to stay closer to the action next time.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Avenue A was a bit deceiving to be honest. The lobby and bar are beautiful and at first glance so are the large rooms, but the couch in the room was old and broken, the carpet … which no hotel should have to begin with … was old and dirty and the bathroom was a joke. The location is also not that cool. Copenhagen is a quiet town and Frederiksberg is even quieter. Some consider this the up and coming district of Copenhagen, but we only saw people wanting to get up and out of the area and «For Sale» signs coming soon on the buildings.

A lovely hotel located a short walk from the city centre with bus stops outside as well.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and the staff is so friendly and always happy to help. The room is spacious with all the amenities and a smart TV.
Paid parking behind the hotel and a lovely terrace where you can enjoy a drink in the sun.
The breakfast was lovely and there’s something for everyone’s taste.

Berkeley, CA
It is an ok hotel, and I think it might even have been a four star experience if we got a courtyard room. It is on a busy street and we had a streetside room that was pretty noisy. Room is a bit small but well appointed. The breakfast buffet was good. Free wifi and a TV computer (android based and a bit awkward and slow but it works.)
