The atmosphere alone was amazing. And for a final lunch, I would go back there anytime. They have a lunch special where it’s 89 krones for a burger, fries, and a soda. I got the chicken burger and it was pure heaven. fresh ingredients and filling. It’s the best one I’ve had in Copenhagen! Also. They asked if I wanted ice. Which has been the first place to do so– so thank you!

Fantastic staff and food. Yesterday, my husband and I were on a run for the first time in Copenhagen. Both of our phones died and without them, we would have had no idea where to go or how to get to the place we were staying at. The staff were kind enough to let us use their iPhone charger. While we were there, we sampled their coffee and then watched as delicious plates of food later came out and decided we would come back for dinner. We each had a samosa to start with and a burger(I had the house and he had the deli). All was delicious. We can’t wait to go back and try the Indian food!

Cute café which has a street view and is even slightly higher than the ground level! This means it is well daylit during the day, a hard thing to find sometimes in cph! The décor is cute, reminds a bit of Indian style I would say with all the colours and pillows. It seems like it has a good food menu with some special Indian dishes which I am keen in going back to taste. I had a chai latte which was good and cutely decorated. Chill place for a chill evening!

I love when you stumble across little surprises that you didn’t expect. My friend and I wanted a nice place for a quiet dinner on a Friday night. We were lucky enough to get a table here, and were happy we did. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, and she had the Lamb Masala. Huge portions with great spice and flavor since they say they are homemade recipes. The price of a house glass of wine is 35 kr which is very reasonable for inner city prices, and the décor is very cozy inside. The staff are very nice, quick, and accommodating. I now know where to take my friends in the middle of the city when we want something, cozy, close, and not wallet breaking.

Summary: 3.5 stars for the food(NY Standards), but you get 4.5 stars for a chill atmosphere. A hookah lounge vibe without the smoke. Very cool to chill, read a book, meet a friend and chat. Menu in English. Atmosphere: There is something about this place. It’s above ground(why is everything in CPH in the basement? It’s got very light music. The pillows all over results in that conversation buzz without actually hearing every word of the table next to you. I went on a slow night. I could totally see catching up with a group of friends. It has that cozy sort of feeling the Danes love so much, but with an Indian vibe. The Service: Slow-ish, but professional and nice. This guy takes A LOT of time and effort to make a coffee. I watched him and was thinking… wow… that is the longest I have ever seen someone spend on a coffee. And yet, the other part of me said… well… he’s really focused on making it nice, so perhaps its ok. The Food. There is a really small selection. I had the Chicken Tikki Masala. There are 5 other choices. It says very clearly that this is his family’s recipe, so there are some difference, primarily in that they added some very nice fresh peppers. The curry as well, is not quite as sweet, but has more of a yellow curry dark taste. I did not dock any stars for this so much. It’s more that I had to add a bit of salt. This opened up the flavors dramatically. It’s a beautiful dish and well plated. There is slightly not enough rice, but this can be fixed if they just make Naan as a more prominant option(I didn’t see it on the menu, but I also didn’t remember to ask). The food came out hot and took about 15 minutes, so not bad on service.

I like the atmosphere in this café it’s very relaxed, lots of pillows, the subdued lighting and the background music is really nice. Also it’s not overcrowded but that might just be because it’s Saturday night. I wouldn’t mind going here again.

Café Munk is an interesting melting pot of Indian, American and Scandinavian. The interiors are put together with effortless danish elegance: worn in white walls, lots of colorful silk, mismatched easter antique chairs and delightful pictures showcasing India’s many colors. Very cozy, very charming. The menu consists on a selection of egg-centric brunches, salads, burgers and indian grub. I went for what it turned out to be a generous portion of curried veggies and raita, well prepared and not overly spicy, enjoyed and digested to the sound of country music. It seems that some days of the week they stay open late and offer cocktails and stuff… I’m looking forward to try that out. Overall a nice ambiance to catch up with the besties over a cup of good chai.

Extra points for having their kitchen open past 10PM. The place itself is very cozy and nicely decorated on the inside, and service is friendly. Unfortunately the Indian food is only mediocre. Also, reasonably priced for being in the center of Copenhagen.
