When in Denmark, wintertime, I want soup and seafood. What’s better than one dish that combines both– bouillabaisse it is! I had a very good experience despite having no reservation and very little Danish. The staff was under stated and hospitable… I was left alone for the most part but that was just fine by me. I sat in the side dining room in what feels like a brightly lid basement, next to the bar/wine area. That was perfect. The salad verte is just that — fresh, crunchy leafy greens(and radicchio) with a simple white balsamic dressing. Great start to my meal. The bouillabaisse was my main course… Admittedly I’ve only had it in the US(San Francisco, where it is also very popular) so I don’t know what’s authentic. The version I had here included a touch of fennel in an undeniable thick seafood broth. Delish! The seafood was plentiful and they have me some extra soup to top the dish up. Wine selection is very good– menu in Danish but wine language is universal so just go for it. The damage for my 3 course meal with wine is about the same as a mid range restaurant in New York City. A great night out.

Ok so here comes a sad sad review. Sad because some places have a huge potential but the staff just ruin it and this is one of those. So it was an special night and we wanted to have dinner at a fancy/special place. We had already seen it during our morning walk and the appearance and location were perfect. Then we saw it suggested as a recommendation on the hotel map so we decided to go there for dinner. To our surprise our waiter was rude from minute one. We didn’t have a reservation so he placed us in a corner and said the rest of the tables were booked so we were supposed to leave before 20.00, but the time passed and the tables were still empty. He was rude in a polite way if that’s even possible haha but I felt insulted and I can’t really explain how because he did it in a very subtle way. But we felt discriminated, he treated us differently from the other costumers and I just wanted to finish the food, pay the bill and go somewhere else. Luckily the food made up for it. We had an entrecôte double with wine sauce served with vegetables, boiled potatoes and salad. The potatoes weren’t as expected but it was acceptable, the wine sauce was delicious! And that was the story, I think it’s sad because it dragged down our mood and we didn’t really enjoy the experience. I’m pretty sure it would have been completely different with another waiter… So please employers of the world, choose your staff carefully! It’s fundamental for costumers.

I had a wonderful dining experience here. Everything was wonderful. We met the owner and he was great and talkative. Would 100% recommend. See my pic for reference.

We came to this restaurant because our guide book recommended it and we were in this area. It has a cozy and warm atmosphere inside, tastefully welcoming. We were seated in the sun room with all glass windows and looking out to the greens outside. The service was very friendly and attentive. I had the all-you-can-eat mussels as recommended by the waitress(not on the menu), it came with plates of fresh and tasty mussels, 2 glasses of white wine, all for 245 Kr., it was very good and delicious. My husband had the fish soup, also good but mine was better :) All in all, a very good experience here. A good way to spend the evening.

A rainy and grey saturday we stumbled upon this little restaurant in a cozy back yard. You can enter the restaurant both from the street and the yard. Should you enter through the back there is actually an outdoor area with heaters and a roof, I imagine this being open during summer. Quite nice that you can actually sit outside in the middle of December. It has a warm and tastefully decorated interior with structured white walls and nice lighting. The service was friendly and they were very active, asking us what we wanted to order and how we wanted it prepared. Since we don’t eat meat they had no problems at all making a vegetarian version of their ham omelett with some extra vegetables added. That’s always a plus in my book. The selection on the menu was perhaps a bit limited, especially for non-meat eaters. Their wine selection was massive, their beer selection not so massive. I was a bit put off by the amount of foie-gras available(it was even in salads, that you thought were without meat). Nowadays I tend to move away from restaurants serving foie gras due to the horrific process behind producing it. But it’s a hard to avoid in the french restaurants I guess. All in all it was a good experience.
