A really cool space inhabited mostly by students either working or just hanging out and playing board games from the library in the back room. Come during the day for some coffee or tea, and again at night for a beer with friends! There’s a cozy atmosphere which makes Retro a great place for good conversations with good company, and they even offer a little bit of a student discount! Took off some stars because the tea I ordered – green tea with lemongrass – just was not good. It was extremely bitter and my mouth felt dry whenever I took a sip. I might have just gotten unlucky and got overloaded with tea leaves that sat in the water for way too long, but my friend was satisfied with hers. Still a cool place to chill though!

Good coffee, decent price, quirky inside – in a good way. I went here when I saw that Coffee Collective next door had little seating, so, full disclosure, it was my second choice. Things are straightforward here; order at the bar, wait for the drink, and find a seat. That said, I think I broke some unspoken custom, because I was working on my laptop in the couched area when there were tables on the other side of the café. They sell food too, but I didn’t order any.

I stumbled upon this comfy, fun café while walking through Norrebro. I was not aware of the concept until reading the other reviews but did notice the donation jars on the counters. The volunteer staff was friendly and did not do a bad job with my cappuccino. While not the best, at least it was not horribly overpriced. If you are really into coffee, theirs may not be for you. The safest things seem to be drinks not made on site. But, as others note, it does go to a good cause. The café has a good vibe and seemed to be full of students, some in groups, some alone studying and a group playing one of the café’s board games. I liked the atmosphere of eclectically decorated interconnected small rooms. The furniture is what you would find at a student’s house or cheap antique store: small wooden tables and velvet couches with throw pillows. And of course, the free wifi was a plus.

My friends and I love Retro. It’s our go-to café when we need a place to hang out, which usefully ends up being for hours, or if we need to get some schoolwork done as they have free wifi and a great set up. It’s a bright café with loads of seating, including some very comfortable couches. This is a non-profit café, so the workers volunteer their time. The only slight downfall of Retro is that because the workers aren’t exactly trained coffee makers, they don’t know how to make the«perfect» latte. But hey, your money is going to a great cause and the workers are so friendly, so don’t think about skipping this little café in the heart of Nørrebro.

Café Retro in Nørrebro is the little brigther and«newer» version of its«big sister» in the city centre. I like them both, but I think I actually prefer this one. It seems more spacious and lighter. Cheep bear, lots of fun boardgames and a cosy, retro-inspired look, makes me think that Retro is quite alright. The atmosphere is very student-friendly and laid-back. A very good place for meeting with some friends as a starting point for a great night out and about, or for just having a good conversation over a coffee and brownie(which is lovely, btw). The super friendly staff, who I am told works here for free, gave my friend a glass of warm milk(hey, some people are special) for free as well. Kudos for great service!

I really want to like Retro, because it’s such a nice concept. There are mostly volunteers working here for free, and I know that it’s quite a nice place to volunteer at(I was in their event team for a year). But unfortunately I believe that RETRO falls into the same trap that many other places that works with volunteers — the standard of the drinks and coffee are just way too low. The cappuccino and the different type of coffee are not very good, and the tea is always way too strong. I’ve actually stopped ordering tea here, because they just can’t get it right. When that is said, it’s quite a nice place for safe options — meaning bottled beers, sodas and other stuff that the people working here shouldn’t prepare, but just open. And it’s a good place to hang out and work, they have free wifi and good places to sit and hang out — also with a beer a Saturday night.

Coffee was too hot, and they weren’t too happy about making a new one(but they did).
