I had dinner at BioMio during the Dinning Week, so I don’t believe that evening is representative to every other evening. But, I am going to post a review anyway because I was really amazed by the overall experience. MENU Starter: Cauliflower soup with scallop, pickled cauliflower and watercress Nice and creamy, with 3 pieces of scallop. The hint of acidity was perfectly balanced with the overall taste. Main: Roasted and braised beef with beetroot, browned butter and tarragon The portion was huge compared to what expected in an offer. The beef had perfect temperature and the browned butter and beetroot very nice. Dessert: Blueberry cheesecake with peanut crumble Just heaven… in a big jar! STAFF Super nice people that made us feel very comfortable and helped very fast when we needed something. My girlfriend’s pregnancy might helped with this, but I think that I can tell when a smile is sincere. DINNINGAREA Beautifully decorated to give a cosy and warm feeling. My only objection is about the chairs… that are actually high stools. There are also some booths and normal chairs, but very limited. The stools were fine to sit on for long time though. I am very pleased with our choice to go at BioMio, not only for saving 150kr/person on the menu, but because I was very pleased this the food(it is very rare not to have a complain or to notice something off) and the service.

Wow. Seriously wow. Not the good wow you get when you stroll down an old European street and discover the amazing find of a lifetime restaurant, but the wow like«how the hell isn’t this place shut down yet?» We went out for a lovely dinner as a large group and the waitstaff almost insisted we leave because our guest threw up after eating severely undercooked cod. Unbelievable. Food, questionable. Drinks, mediocre. Service, unbelievable. And not in the good unbelievable way. Don’t get me started on the dessert. I’ve had better desserts pre-packaged on a flight. Dry and tasteless chocolate. Just awful. The waitresses were so unfriendly and rude, I couldn’t believe it. You’d think I was serving them, rather than them serving me. Have you ever held a door open for someone and they don’t say thank you? Pretty much the same thing, but 10 times worse. Yeah. Bio Mio, not for me-o.

Reasonable prices, delicious food, and very kind staff. If it’s on the menu when you are in town, I would recommend the poached cod and seasonal rocket(arugula) salad. If you’re going with a group, order a few starters to share as well so that you can try more of the menu.

This place is quite ridiculous. Quite ridiculously good! As the name might suggest it’s an organic eatery. This extended far beyond what I was expecting. Literally everything is organic, down to the alcohol served. One waiter even went as far as to get a bottle of vodka to highlight the organic credentials! Considering this it’s surprising that the food and drink isn’t more expensive due to the difficulty of getting hold of some of the ingredients. Service was impeccable. We had 2 waiters throughout the evening and despite the large floor, were very attentive and pleasant to chat to. Food was amazing. The starter of raw scallops was a taste explosion. My *organic* cod was okay, but the vegetarian sweet potato risotto was just hands down way better. I really am a convert to veggie/vegan food. You know it’s going to be good because of the time invested in making the food and the absence of many ingredients you take for granted when you have access to milk and dairy. What was great is that from where we were seated we could see everything being made in the kitchen. Quite an eye-opener to see just how that fancy food gets from the kitchen to your place. And based on all the pre-prep work, they make it look quite easy! If visiting the meat packing district, you would be well served to give this place a go. PS. Make sure to get the Prison Food(Bread/Water/Butter) from the menu. Their bread is so good we stuffed ourselves on two basket helpings and lashings of olive oil and salted butter.

Incredible time. Prices were reasonable. The vibe was laid back. Nice service. The food. The food. Fresh and delicious. Something for meat lovers and veggie lovers alike. We had a beautiful salad with beets and goat cheese and fresh greens. The polenta was wonderful. And we had a meatball special that came with a salad and had coconut, garlic, tomato sauce. It wasn’t clear where the salad ended and the meatball entrée began. But it was one amazing dish of fun. Nice beer and wine selection. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.

First of all, this place is situated in an area that used to be a slaughter house, it’s a rather shabby industrial and very meat fixated neighbourhood and to be honest not really pleasant to visit for a vegan/vegetarian. I first visited BioMio a few years ago after a recommendation and I remember the vegetarian burger was really nice and so was the freshly prepared fruit drink. This time it was obvious that the same care in preparing the food isn’t there. The menu is very animal flesh based and the vegetarian options few and boring. I asked if I could have a vegetarian burger instead and after debating with the not very friendly waitress I got a completely flavourless portobello mushroom that hadn’t been seasoned at all between two dry buns. Served with a very small serving of rather nice fries. The fruit drink, that used to be so fresh, nice and served in a generous glass, was this time very sugary and served in a small glass. The prices are high for the food quality you get. And if you don’t have cash you have to, for some crazy reason, pay an extra charge when you pay with a credit card. In this day and age that’s really outdated and customer unfriendly.

Went there on the recommendation of our hotel concierge, who also called ahead to make sure we had a table. We absolutely loved it! It’s in an industrial-looking warehouse in Vesterbro, but don’t let that keep you from going. The organic feeling extends to the furnishings, plenty of live greenery and tole lanterns surround you. Very friendly, nicely paced service, excellent food! They offer something to please everybody, from the strictest vegan to the avowed meat eater. Be prepared to pay for tap water, it helps to ask ahead of time, as we learned. We ordered beef stew with oyster mushrooms, rice, gravy and arugula, and creamy polenta with celery root, mushrooms and Romesco Sauce, and we both cleaned our plates! Our waitress was charmingly chatty, but she gave us good pointers for things to visit, as this was our first night in town. Very good altogether, better and less expensive than other eateries in the vicinity.

The service here was very friendly, particularly in their willingness to keep the kitchen open for us. On the flip side I don’t like being asked to pay extra for some tap water, especially when already shelling out roughly 50 pounds for meal for two. A few places seem to do this in Copenhagen and it is a practice that needs to be discouraged(and do that in my own small way by deducting a star). So the food. Well the chilli was pretty good, but didn’t live up to a comparison with a chilli a friend of mine used to make(which could be seen as an unfair comparison, but all chilli I have had since is judged by that high standard). Selected the cheese plate for dessert. Good cheese but a minuscule amount for the price. They offer a selection of beers from the Norrebro Bryghus. The Bombay Pale ale is a very good beer and would definitely be my recommendation here.

Firstly, the food here is fine but overpriced, but the service was the rudest I’ve ever experienced anywhere. My girlfriend ordered scallops and was surprised they were served cold and uncooked. We told the waiter this was not what she was expecting and would not be able to eat. We asked for them to be taken away and were told she could order something else, but they would not removed from the bill. At the end of the meal we asked again if they could be removed from the bill as they were untouched and the order was an honest mistake(also not specified as uncooked on the menu). The balding waiter would not remove the item and would not let us speak to the manager. The conversation quickly descended into a series of childish comebacks and petty remarks. The exchange was unprofessional and embarrassing. This entire meal was ruined because of the stubborn waiter’s refusal of a good-will gesture which would have cost the restaurant little in the grand scheme of things. There are plenty of other better restaurants in the meat packing district worth a visit over this one.

First night in Copenhagen, convenient place. Got their late and they ran out of mussels and special of the day. Ambiance friendly and not rushed. Fresh menu, though not big. Scallops were sashimi style, sauce was solid. Cod main was highlight of the night, well balanced and vegetables were well prepared. Rhubarb pie was unique, nothing we get on California. Even my wife who does not like Rhubarb really liked it.

Very disappointed … After trying other great(but small) healthy restaurants in Copenhagen I expected better from this«famous» one. I felt more like in an American fast-food with hurried waiters and quite a short menu. All fresh fruit juices had added sugar and I almost could not find something I could eat(first time in a so called vegetarian restaurant)! Finally the burger was quite OK, with a good bunch of salad and veggies inside. It tasted good, to save the evening. I definitely prefer the atmosphere of smaller and cosy places than this huge and noisy trendy place.

Great dinner! We selected BioMio as we thought it would be a good place for both vegans and meat eaters and we were right! This would be a five star rating as the food was absolutely incredible, but we wished there was a slightly larger selection on the menu. The place was packed, but they were able to seat us right away. Even with the full restaurant, we enjoyed a pleasant conversation with our party of six at our table.

I ate lunch here yesterday and had the green salad. It had some wonderful flavors, but what really stood out was the bread that came with it! The crust was sweet and crunchy… mm! My friend ordered the potato leek soup, and after I tried it I wish I had ordered it instead of the salad! The soup acheived a depth of flavor that I thought the salad lacked. I would recommend Bio Mio to a friend, especially to go to in the summer(there was a lot of nice outdoor seating). It would be nice to grab a late dinner there before hitting the club. There are an abundance of tables in the restaurant, so it seems like they can accommodate large groups.

I can start the review by commenting on the food: it was okay. The onion tart was more of a quiche, and dry, and the salad it came with was too sweet. The beef dinner special was pretty good, hampered by the high salt content that left me feeling sick. The service, however, was far worse than the mediocre food. When we first got our hummus and veggies, they brought it without any utensils or napkins. Once we got our main courses, no one ever returned to the table except to finally bring us napkins and utensils. Both of us had to go into the restaurant(we were sitting outside – remember that, it comes up again in the next paragraph) to get the attention of our server, but she didn’t seem to care about our concerns. Our biggest concern was the group of people on the greenspace in the middle of the street. They started screaming and fighting with each other, rolling on the ground, one holding the other down. No one in the restaurant seemed to care. When the guy who had been held down got up, peed on a tree, then kicked the other guy so hard he fell back and hit his head on a rock, no one seemed to care. The staff was as disinterested in the goings-on in their neighborhood as they were in the customers. The waitress smiled as she essentially told us she and her colleagues didn’t care to help. Being organic is nice, but being courteous and civic-minded is nice, too. The atmosphere completely ruined what was already a mediocre meal. I hope after reading this you will go elsewhere and not give this disgusting business any financial support.

We went with friends, and we liked it a lot, friendly service, a good choice, including vegetarian and vegan options, but also beef lovers were happy, a combination not found that easily. We had shared starters, very tasty and do not miss out on their dessert, they do know how to make citonenfromage, lemoncream, a dish that will zoom any Dane back to childhood. From other reviews we expected self service with chip card and beeper, but they are now serving at the table and that is done in a friendly and attentive way. We were also very pleased with our wine choice and the beer selection. As for the price, definitely value for money, but not a cheap snack.

I brought a friend here since I have been told to try it and I must say it’s a unique gem in kødbyen. They have communal tables which makes it very inviting and you go up to the counter where they have an open kitchen where you order. It’s all organic and they have a great selection of vegetarian options. We each had a glass of wine and three courses. They forgot our dessert at the end, but we reminded them and it came out quickly. It’s nice you can come here either for a meal or just a cup of coffee. The fact that it’s in an old Bosch warehouse just adds to it’s charm and it gives you a good taste of the neighborhood.

I have to say right off the bat — this is a very big 3 stars! The atmosphere in Bio Mio is very comfortable — though while the high tables gives a nice feel to the room — i personally prefer to sit at one of the fewer normal tables. You are in one big room with a nice blend of Scandinavian functionalism, a lot of personality and the«meat-packer district»(Kødbyen) touch. We were there for brunch. There was a wide selection really embracing the full scope of brunch, covering both a full breakfast buffet as well as a full lunch buffet. So you shouldn’t be short of options. The quality of the food was also good/ok. no complaints, but nothing special either. The fact that this is all organic makes it a borderline 4 stars, but still, except for the organic(which isnt unimportant) this does not seem that different from other places — except the range of food really is impressive. I was also impressed with the friendliness of the staff and waiters — not something that can always be expected in Copenhagen. I would go there again and was happy with the service and food, so this is absolutely a high 3 stars

It pains me to do this. But from being one of my favourite restaurants in Copenhagen one year ago, the revisit last night changed this. The small starters we ordered were great, so initially I got my hopes up, thinking that all the recent negative reviews maybe was just Unilocalers catching Bio Mio on a bad day. Then came the main course. I got the fish, catch of the day, which was salmon. A piece of salmon with the exact measurements of one of those frozen bits you buy in a store. So, it wasn’t that interesting neither in taste nor presentation and not what I expect from a «catch of the day». The entire dish was way too salty and buttery as well and that to me kind of goes against the biological concept and it was something that in the end resulted in me not being able to finish it. :/ The other dish was a wok, originally they put chicken in it, but we ordered the vegetarian one with tofu instead. When they came out with the dish we instantly realized we got chicken anyway. So we had to wait for them to correct this, which they did. The correct dish was way too salty as well, the black beans tasted old, like they’ve been out for a while. The tofu bits where perfect squared canned tofu, which to me is not that good. To make it even worse after this night our bellies haven’t been quite alright, if you get my point. ;) It’s a cozy place still, so I really hope they can fix this recent downward spiral, but I will not revisit any time soon.
