This review is for Italian Dining Week in 2015. I think Italian food is tricky, too many people take lightly of it. Just throw some pasta and some sauce and they would call it Italian food, which naturally would horrify most Italians. From frequent visits to Italy, I know that Italian food is so much more than just pasta and risotto and even so it could be on totally another level, like the meal I had in Parma. Coming to Che Fe for the Italian dining week, I was mostly nervous about whether the food would meet my expectation, would it take me back to the glorious memory of Italy? This place claims to be bio trattoria, using only organic food — they even wrote in their menu that they request the guests to reuse the cutlery to save the dishwashing(less soap, less water) which even as an environmental engineer, I tend to be suspicious to these kind of places since the word«environmentally-friendly» could also be another name for cost-cutting. But the food certainly didn’t disappoint. The appetizer was Buffalo mozarella from Campania with pickled onions and smoked ham from Trentino, Radicchio salad with beans with ragout of Salsiccia sausage and Olive focaccia(Taggiasce) with cream of gorgonzola, mascarpone and walnuts didn’t disappoint. So was the first main course of Homemade Maloreddus pasta from Sardinia with ragout of veal and mushroom and second main course of veal with truffle sauce and autumn vegetables. The dulce of tiramisu was simple yet delightful, so I could say both Mina K and I walked out of there quite happily. Although both service and food were great, I hold on to four stars this time because I don’t know what their food on normal service would like. Naturally it’s easier to do Italian dining week since everyone gets the same dishes(easier to prepare for the kitchen) and they might put extra extra hard work to impress the guests to come back the next time. If their normal service is as excellent as during Italian Dining Week then I would eat my hat — kidding — and upgrade my review to five stars. Until then

I came here for Italian Dining Week and was not disappointed! The service was on point and the meal was extremely fair for the price of 240 dkk per person, considering everything is 60−90% organic. Whatever that means. The three appetizers came out at once and though you may think beans are boring, I felt the beans with salsiccia and radicchio were the best. Very deep and moreish flavour, with the bitterness of the radicchio to cut through it. The olive focaccia was also good and of course the Trentino speck with buffalo mozzarella and pickled onions was delicious. Then the pasta arrived. I have never even seen Malloreddus before so it was exciting to try it. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the veal ragout was excellent. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that I wished there were more mushrooms with the pasta, but I always want more mushrooms on everything. One of the chefs came by and asked if we would like more pasta. More?! Yes, please! I smelled the next dish filling the dining room even before I saw it go by; veal with truffle sauce. It was slice thinly and still a little pink in the center. Heavenly! On the side were some roasted vegetables which didn’t taste of much but did well in carrying more of that truffle sauce to my mouth. To finish, there was a lovely tiramisu that was light and only slightly boozy. After visiting Parma and Bologna earlier this year, I was missing Italian food dearly; especially pasta. Che Fe ticked all the boxes for me. I can’t wait to come back again and try the dishes on their regular menu.

Absolutely delicious! The owners and staff are all super attentive and wonderfully dedicated to making sure you have a fabulous experience! The pre-Fixe was interesting to me but I didn’t want red meat and they made up a pescatarian version for me, which was amazing. The wine was wonderful as well.

This place is absolutely great. Excellent food with many classical and interesting new dishes side by side. We chose the 12 course menu with a suite of small and excellent starters followed by two larger(but not too large) mains(of which the venison stew was absolutely brilliant) and of course a Tiramisu for dessert. The food was never rushed and I think we were there 3 – 3 ½ hours with new food appearing throughout. I would definitely go here again. We were one vegetarian and myself — a self-proclaimed meat lover, and the place is great for both. The menu is easily adopted to fit both with some dishes being shared and other not. The service was also excellent; the food was often served by the cook and accompanied with small explanations, a smile and so much positive personality and gratefulness every time we complimented the food(which was after every dish). You really got an idea of a place that took pride in their business. On top of the excellent food and service I really also enjoyed the room and atmosphere and of course the best of all — one of the few certified 100% organic restaurant in Copenhagen(which given the quality isn’t reflected in the price)

I love Che Fe for its food, service, ambiance, everything. It has quickly become my favorite Italian restaurant in Copenhagen. I find their dishes creative, flavorful and fresh. The service is good as well. A real gem of a restaurant!
