Very good and clean food. Got the chicken salad sandwhich and was surprised by all the flavor they packed in there. So many spices — just right. I was eyeing the desserts, but resisted — I suggest you don’t.

Quiet and relaxed place. Good coffee and cakes. Exellent place to end up after visiting the sights around amalienborg, mable church, little mermaid and kastellet. Service could be better, but quality of food and drinks makes it a good experience

This is one of favorite spots in Copenhagen! It is authentic, lively — like a sweet friend! I have been there several times and today with a good friend. We had a sandwich and coffee. The sandwiches were tasty on toasted rye bread! I smile when I think about this place. Funny enough this doesn’t look like the perfect place. Not really nice décor and the sign in the window? But! It is the perfect place to be for a nice relaxed time.

This is cafè I would and I do over and over again! Super nice service with fun, personal and friendly. That is just icing on the cake beside the actual icing on their delicious cakes:)) I enjoy their mint tea with honey, orange and lemon zest in the winter or summer! Healthy rye bread sandwiches but full of flavour! None of those bread more than anything sandwich. Chicken mousse and tuna mousse is a must try! But if you are lucky you might you could come across with their roastbeef! Moist! Garlic chilli flavour! Everything is fresh and made from their heart! And for the price range it’s cheap for this kind of standard of food.

Never judge a book by its cover! Tucked away off the main center this little café doesn’t look like it’s up to much. We decided to go here as it was relatively close to our hotel and our flight wasn’t to far off. The décor was a bit Mis matchy and quirky! No menus just what is up on the board… It’s all in Danish! Doh! Super friendly staff happy to translate. Open sandwich? I went for the salami! Oh my sandwich! A slice of dark rye bread drizzled with chili olive oil packed in with fresh delicious salad and sandwich crème and another slice of rye on top. Interesting choice of drinks — there is something for everyone. A Copenhagen must!

Try an open sandwich I kept getting told. To think I nearly left Denmark without trying one. Nipped into this place for lunch today based on Unilocal reviews and immediately fell in love with the open sandwich. The place itself is pretty cool with a laid back atmosphere and friendly staff happy to go through the whole menu in English for us. I got an amazing chicken Italian«sausage» sandwich with carrots lettuce and various spices and herbs. It was superb! The rye(I think) bread was soaked in chilli sauce which was beautiful. I also got a lovely ginger lemonade to drink alongside it. Not quite full I decided to have dessert as well. They had amazing looking cakes on display. I went with an awesome lemon and raspberry slice of cake. It was tremendous! If you like sweet treats and cakes. You will love this cake. Cool place and great food. I wish there was one in Glasgow. I would go every week.

We ran into this café on our stroll from the art museum to Nyhavn. The colorful 70: s inspired style is a contrast to the somewhat grey residential street with a few shops/supermarkets. They have a lot of organic stuff on the menu and I ordered a parma sandwich which was really great: warm roasted rye bread and plenty of ham and salad with a fresh dressing. Felt healthy and tasted great. The service was both quick and friendly and it was perfect for sitting down and resting the legs while having a quick and tasty lunch in a friendly environment.

super duper friendly staff. the guy behind the counter read the whole menu to me in english, because i don’t read danish and he didn’t have an english menu for me. i wasn’t able to have the pea sandwhich, bummer but had the goat cheese one instead. that’s a lot of goat cheese people! :-) i left a lot behind. maybe go easy on that? the bread is super tasty. ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. the ginger lemonade that everyone mentions is PERFECT. i would highly recommend that. big space to sit and read a book or work on computer and have a meal. very cosy hippy-like setting.

I read a few Unilocal reviews before going, and this restaurant exceeded my expectations. We had the ginger lemonade, pea salad, and roast beast. The pea salad was an open sandwich with actual fresh peas. The roast beast was closed, but it had to be eaten with a fork. They were both delicious, and the staff was extremely helpful and patient with us Americans.

What a great intro to open faced Danish sandwiches! Had the potato salad as recommended by the staff. Not only was it fresh, tasty and decently-sized, but it was pretty inexpensive too. Friendly service as well. Definitely recommend!

Absolute tops. I’d been hankering for something approximating traditional Danish food while I was in the city and was delighted to find this little sandwich shop and even happier to share it with my Danish friend who was equally impressed. The place is small and cozy, with a menu chalked on a board and carefully annotated as they run out of things for the day. Sadly, my first choice was gone, but the hummus I ended up with instead was absolutely delicious and entirely unlike what I’d been expecting which is always fun. The drinks are also made in house and while my ‘lemonade’ was quite startlingly gingered, it was just as tasty as was my friend’s juice. Sadly neither of us had room to try the excellent-looking desserts, but everyone else seems to think they’re quite impressive. Definitely deserves a return visit when I’m in the area.

This place was absolutely lovely. The food was amazing, reasonably priced(in a usually totally expensive city), and really ‘Danish’. We felt like we found a secret gem just around the corner from all the tourist traps. Will definitely be back again. We had the chicken mousse and pea open faced sandwiches… both were great.

This is a wonderful place for lunch. They serve delicious sandwiches, I got the tuna mousse(tuna salad sandwich to Americans) and it was so delicious. My friend got kyilling mortadella. Try their homemade ginger lemonade. Fellow behind the counter was friendly and helpful. They had desserts as well but was too full to try. An affordable gem in Copenhagen!

I went to Lækkerier recently and really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and especially the dessert. As an American, I’ve been desperate to find spicy food in Copenhagen, and the chili con carne(which I think is only served on Thursday night?) had just the right amount of kick. Some of the others around were picking out the hot chili’s, but that was just based on spicy preference. The dessert options were plentiful, and I tried a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting — which was amazing. My friend tried án authentic South American pastry, of which I can unfortunately not remember the name. I had a bite and also thought it was amazing. The location is in the city center, but not in the most touristy of places. It caters well to a lunch crowd for the surrounding businesses. I will gladly return in the future :)

Loved their sandwiches. Fresh ingredients and warm toasted bread. Also great value for the price since they are generously sized. They drizzle herb infused oil over their sandwich bread, so be sure to say in advance if you don’t want that. I think the oil is a nice touch and not too greasy. They have a large space, but actually not that many seats because the tables are widely spaced. Prime real-estate is definitely the little tables outside on a nice day. Although the window seats facing the street are pretty great too.

Being in Copenhagen and all, I knew I had to get some Smorrebrod, so I popped into Lækkerier to try theirs out. I had no idea what type to get so the cashier said he loves the potato salad so I got that. Wow, it was delicious! Flavors were pretty balanced although the potato salad was creamy and that was a pretty powerful flavor, but I enjoyed it immensely. Since it’s my first smorrebrod, I have no idea how it compares to any other, but being a sandwich lover in general I was really pleased :) If you are from San Francisco and have had sandwiches from Deli Board or Ike’s you’ll appreciate these although they are totally different, but well-crafted!
