I have no idea why more people don´t go here. I say this because everytime I go I am pretty much the only one there together with the people I bring. BUTWHY? I love this place, yes the décor is not that cozy — but it works. What is more important is their very, very delicious soups and dumblings. It is really, really good and they have so much on their menu, lots to chose from. Even if you dont want dumblings they have other things as well, such as noodles. I would encourage everyone to go there. They have great friendly service and it is resonable priced. Everyone I have ever brought here is in love with this place as well.

it’s been about three years since i’ve been to pak ka. but why? i remember the food being tasty and it is pretty close to the cluster of my friends’ favourite asian restaurants where we meet about once a week. in any case it has entered into the rotation now. we went on a very warm saturday, determined to eat hot steamed buns and fried dumplings no matter how much we sweat! of course a cold tsingtao beer helped to ease me into the challenge. we ordered our usual holy trinity of char siu bao(bbq pork buns), cheung fan(a big steamed rice noodle) with shrimp, and cheung fan with char siu. and another order of char siu bao for good measure. the buns were perfectly fluffy and filled with a good amount of meat. the cheung fan was slippery and delicate, with a sauce that had a great smokey flavour. the ribs were a bit messy to eat but the flavour was good. we also got a couple fried dumplings but i can’t remember much about them; my mind must have been clouded by food coma by then. one of us accidentally knocked a glass over, which shattered and spilled water everywhere when it hit the table. but our server was very polite about it and told us not to worry as she cleaned it up. of course we added some tip to cover it but her nonchalance about the incident was appreciated.
