In 1368 Altes Huis was founded in Bacharach, Germany. The buildings exterior is being restored for perhaps another 645 years or longer. The menu is similar to a typical German offerings from medieval times with some refinements. I had sliced boiled beef served with a potato cake and sour cream along with a serving of boiled spinach. Admittedly, I had no idea that the meal would be as good as it was. The setting is in traditional German furnishings. There is only one server. She handled it fine as the restaurant filled up. It’s kind of like having dinner at your grandmother’s house.
