Restaurant Le César

Cadre super, mais accueil quelque peu… froid, nous sommes arrivés 20 minutes avant la réservation, au lieu de nous proposer d’aller au bar on nous a dit de venir après l’heure à laquelle nous avions réservé. Le repas était très bon — un peu cher tout de mm pour ce que c’est — une des entrée avait la taille d’un plat, le plat était donc difficile à finir. Et gronder un serveur devant les clients, quelquesoit sa faute, je né trouve pas ça très correct…

We had been to Le Cesar on earlier visits, and love the location, but I was skeptical about going back because the owner (?) maitre d’ (?) had been such a douche when we were at the beach having lunch earlier in the week that I didn’t want to go back. We did, however, and my suspicions were merited – we were seated as far from the beach as possible, next to the cheesy brightly colored blown glass fish sculpture and hand painted lamp that looked like it came from a «Mommy and Me» class; the douchey guy came almost immediately to take our order, which is great except that he didn’t ask us if we wanted an apertif, which is what happened in EVERY other restaurant we went to in France. The food was overpriced so I ordered the least expensive item, poussin. The waiters who brought our food were friendly, but my poussin was awful – dry, tough, with pathetic cubed potatoes. My companions’ food was OK at best. It felt as if they couldn’t wait to get us fed and out of there; I couldn’t wait to get out of there and go to town to eat ice cream at the great gelateria near the Marche Provencale. If you need to spend too much on a meal, go to the Eden Roc or the Vieux Murs in Antibes.

Charming location but inattentive service and mediocre food. Maybe no coincidence that our section of the restaurant was non French speaking.

Une très bonne ambiance sur cette place au cadre paradisiaque. Le service est de qualité et les relations deviennent très vite amicales avec le personnel. Le restaurant est de bonne qualité avec des poissons de premier choix et de très bonnes grillades. Pour les tarifs, comptez 18 € par matelas avec parasol pour une journée. 200 € pour une journée à 4 avec matelas et resto est un bon budget. De quoi passer une bonne journée au soleil en tous cas.
