Nice and friendly service in a good French atmosphere with live music starting from 8 pm. Try to avoid a table close to the door during the winter time: it gets cold pretty soon. I had as starter escargots and my wife camembert in bacon coat: both of them really good and delicious. As main course my wife had an entrecôte: even if the rib-eye should have some fat, in my opinion in this steak there was too much of it. Furthermore the steak is not made on the grill and consequently has less taste. My beef bourguignon was really tasteful and tender: I really love it. As dessert we had a feuilletté of red fruits: fantastic. The digestive was anyway a bed decision: 11 € for a glass of lemoncello is too much! This ruined the experience.

People watching at its finest– situated in the busiest part of Montmarte where all the painters are. We ordered French onion soup and penne bolognese. Onion soup(€ 10.80) was ok; pasta(€ 17) was so-so. I guess people go there for the French patio people watching experience — coz obviously its food leaves something to be desired.

Beware! We stopped for coffee. About 6 € each and when paying bill he gave change for a 20 € when we gave him a 50 € and did not return. We were totally ignored and when we approached and pointing to the 50 € he had under his tray he tried to crumple it. said he’d be back as soon as he could break the bill?? as we sat we saw him intimidate an elderly couple into giving him a large tip. I followed him inside and stood beside him asking for our change. He was very nervous at this point and opened his servers wallet and asked me if 30 € was enough? I said no and he gave me 40 €. We then realized our coffee cost us total 2 €.

Never got napkins. For over a hundred dollars you’d kind of expect to get napkins at some point. The 32 euro steak was poorer in quality than your typical grocery store bought cut of meat. Extremely lacking. Do not get suckered in to this place. Absolutely a mistake. Would not eat here again in a million years.

Restaurant chaleureux.

This restaurant is located at the peak area of Montmartre. Food is relatively nice, especially smoked ham and blue cheese salad is refreshing after walking through dirty street from metro station. I was so sick of micanga sellers. By the way, the local beer called 1664 is also recommended.

Serveur impoli ! A deconseiller vivement !

Being vegetarian, I had very few options to choose from. I ordered the penne with tomato sauce – absolutely disgusting. There was no flavor at all and the food came very cold – it tasted as if the entre had been thawed from the freezer and microwaved up right before serving. AVOID.

WORSTDININGEXPERIENCEINMYENTIRELIFE. Mediocre food, steep price, CAUSTIC service. Do not come here to eat if visiting Montmartre. Should have known service was going to be horrendous by the expression on our waitress. Don’t be conned by the cunning hostess outside. A couple seated somewhat close to us ended up paying in excess of $ 200 for spaghetti, salad, and some wine. We knew it was going to be pricey. Waitress took forever to take our order of French Onion Soup and Crème Brulee. After our food had arrived, I had asked the waitress for some ice for our drinks. She passed by us 3 times during 20 minutes, and still nothing. She decides to sit two smokers right next to us at our table who instantly make our eating experience miserable. But wait… it gets worse. Since she’s right there, we ask her about our ice. To this she responds by not talking, but SCREAMING at us, «Be quiet! You’re being so rude! Don’t you see I’m with another customer?» REALLYNOW. I was pretty pissed off that this waitress yelled at my mother, who was simply asking about the status of an item she requested 20 minutes ago. I don’t really care how terrible her day had been. I paid beaucoup d’argent expecting to at least NOT be treated like some scoundrel from the street. We went up to her manager and complained. We suggested they get rid of her immediately. He apologized for her. And you can bet she didn’t receive any tip from us.

Some of the food is OK, like the escargot, but everything else is not that great, especially since the prices are way too expensive. Not just a little pricey, way over priced. There are much better places for much better prices all over the city and even in this local area. My last experience was awful. My dinner was served to me cold — not just kind of hot, or even warm, it was about room temperature(and it was chilly that night). I could tell it had been sitting for quite a while. I waited for 10 – 15 minutes for the waitress to return, but she was gone somewhere. So, I asked another employee to please take care of my dinner. Almost an hour later the waitress returned and said she would reheat my dinner(WTF?! The other guy just let it sit?). At this point my date was finished with her meal. I said don’t bother take it off the bill and bring the check. She said she couldn’t do that I have to pay for it. I said call the police then. It went on and on for some time, then, she finally walked away. Ten minutes later she brought the bill with my dinner subtracted. Don’t be a pussy if some place in Paris is trying to screw you.

A perfectly acceptable place for a coffee and some people watching in the most touristy area. The patio immediately overlooks a very busy street in Montmartre, and while dining or having a drink you can watch the sketch or caricature artists making their drawings, the tourists walking by and checking out the items, and all the other bustle of activity that goes on in the adjacent square. We didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the food, but the location was great. It’s pretty much the perfect spot for drink and to write your postcards.

We stopped for a late lunch and ordered the Formule deJour which was a small salad with either roast chicken leg/thigh or beef steak and fries. Dessert was a Carmel Flan. The server was entertaining and the meals appeared quickly(although others complained that they had waited 1 hour for ala carte options…). The salad was good, my beef steak was cooked properly, but a bit tough. The chicken was moist and tender. The dessert was bland… Overall it was an OK meal in a great location. Please check your bill before paying, as ours did not add up after we left. Maybe the waiter included an extra tip for his entertainment.

Yikes, but this place was super-pricey! How can they get away with trying to charge nearly € 10 for a half-liter of Coca-Cola? I’ve seen some price mark-ups before, but damn! Even the bottled water is nearly € 7, and I don’t know enough French to ask for plain tap-water(more on that later). Anyway, the boeuf bourguignon I ordered was a very poor grade of beef, in my opinion(besides being hecka expensive like everything else). The main draw of this place is that they are just down the street from Sacre Coeur, and across from a cute little plaza with all sorts of artists selling paintings to the tourists. You can get a table on the sidewalk if you don’t mind the cigarette smoke; it’s less smoky but just as crowded inside. There was also a huge upper level that was completely empty while we had lunch there. The restaurant was not at all English-friendly, which I found very disappointing, since the tricky hostess out front initially drew us in by speaking English to us; once we were inside, it was all French. We tried asking for regular tap water, but the waitress didn’t understand or was just playing dumb, so we ended up with the € 7 Evian bottle.

Located at the center of Montmartre where all the artists are painting. It was a nice spot to have dinner. Food: Salad — Simple and fresh made this nice and refreshing. Escargot — good but i wish it had more sauce. Duck — Although it looks dry, it was moist. Wish there was a sauce. Boeuf bourguignon — Beef was mouth watering tender. Wish it had more beef. Flan — ehh just flan Brownie cake — it was a little dry. some ice cream would be good. I feel aweful for the cute hostess. She was let go for seating a couple who wanted to move to a different table. The hostess only wanted to make the couple happy so she moved them to a table a of 6 which was originally occupied by 4. The problem was the table wasn’t cleaned yet. The head waitress made a big deal about sitting them on the clean end before clearing the table of 4. Waitress scolded her and hostess walked away crying with her bags. She was let go at the end of our meal =(I feel aweful seeing people let go for really minor mistakes and she was kinda cute =) I think the worst part of it was the couple ended up leaving and not ordering anything when I saw them staring at the menu before entering. Overall, I’d come back here but then again I’m not in paris at all. If I’d come back, I’ll probably get the mussels.

This restaurant is in the heart of Montmartre and serves a very decent lunch. They advesrtise a set day menu with various options on the black board outside(roughly 15 – 20 euro p/p) but once inside they’ll instantly hand you the ‘al la carte’ menu so be careful. You will most likely have to specifically ask the waiter for the day menu if you want the discount. Another thing to watch out for is when they offer you water. Make sure to ask for the house water(not bottled) as its free whereas bottled will set you back something like 5 euros. The basket of bread they bring out, on the other hand, is free. But all that aside, the food is top-notch. We ordered the escargot starters and it was amazing. We’d say it was some of the better escargot you will find in Paris. For our mains we had duck & mussels, which were equaly good. The sauce that came with the mussels was lovely. The table next to us had a concotion of pasta dishes which also looked very appertizing so everything looked very decent here… if a bit pricey. The bill came to 50 euros and that was 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert & house water. But then it is Paris and all the places around the Montmartre square will cost you roughly the same. All in all, the restaurant was lovely and if we were ever to return to Paris we wouldn’t hesistate to eat here again.

Always a favorite when in Montmartre. Although pricey I always love eating in the square and this was the first place we ever ate here. The food has always been great especially the french onion soup and the mussels. Be aware that like many places the patio or the tables in the middle of the sqare are more expensive than eating inside. Though desert is good, there is great ice cream and crepes in the immediate area. Bön appetite!

It’s just facing to the painters’ plaza and very nice to enjoy sunshine there. We had saumon and bourguinon with lemonade of course with some baguette. especially salmon was quite delicious and complementary baquette was very good. But I think servers there should be more gentle.
