Great service, delicious food, and reasonable prices for Paris! We made a reservation online and had to change it the day of, but the staff was more than accommodating. A few people who came in while we were waiting for our table to be ready were turned away so be sure to make a reservation! The food: 1. Degustation de 3 fois gras — a sampler of 3 fois gras: one fresh with sea salt, one terrine, and one seared with warm apple compote. Each table is topped with a toaster for you to toast the(endless) amounts of bread they give you for your fois gras. Each type was so delicious but this sampler was a bit too much to share between 2 people. If I had to choose, it would be the sea salt or seared one. 2. Duck breast — this was my favorite of the night. It was so juicy and tender, I couldn’t believe it was duck! Served with wild mushrooms and crispy potatoes, this was the perfect meal. 3. Duck confit — a bit too dry for my liking, Between the crispy skin and the crispy potatoes, I was a bit overwhelmed. Maybe it was an off night. 4. Bordeaux — get the house bordeaux they recommend! It’s a good price and pairs really well with the duck! After eating about a loaf of bread each with our fois gras appetizer, we were both too full to order dessert. Regrets.

I first found this place on Unilocal just by searching for foie gras and it was number one, so naturally I had to come here. My fiancé and I weren’t quite sure how much or what to order but the owner gave us great advice. She advised that we start with a cold foie gras and a warm foie gras, and follow up with our main plates. We chose the fresh duck foie gras and the pan fried duck foie gras with truffle sauce. Both were amazing! We enjoyed them with bread we toasted using the toaster at our table. Make sure that there isn’t any bread in your toaster before you add another slice. I’m pretty sure that our server added more bread when I wasn’t looking and so when I thought I was only toasting one slice I was actually toasting three! And of course I burned some but I guess that’s just part of the experience. Moving on to the main course, I chose the confit goose leg with potatoes and mushrooms, while my fiancé chose the warm duck breast with cherry sauce and potatoes. Both were a hit! I especially like his, the cherry and duck were a great pair. We also enjoyed a nice half bottle of wine per recommendation of the owner. I don’t quite remember what kind it was but if you are like us and don’t know much about pairings, definitely take her advice. Dessert was an apple tart for me and a trio of crème brûlée for my fiancé. I enjoyed both. His was exceptional though. All in all, this dining experience was one to remember :)

This might just be one of the best restaurants in Paris for traditional French food in this price range. Orbiting around duck and duck related treats it is simply a delight. To add to the amazing experience, the owners are really genuinely nice, and love nothing more than seeing you enjoy their meal, and will be happy to give you recommendations about Paris. It is simply a crime to go to Paris and not eat there, trust me.

This is the best meal I have had in Paris. If you love duck and foie gras then this is the place for you. Admittedly there is not much variety on the menu but that is hardly a problem when the food on offer is of the highest quality, the duck breast melts in your mouth it is so good. As a starter I got the slab of foie gras(first page of the menu) and It was brilliant. What was even more smart was the restaurants idea of toast your own bread which I actually fell in love with, it made the restaurant feel more cosy. We had a nice bottle of red Bordeaux to compliment the duck which it did, fantastically. To end the night we had two Crème Brûlées. The first was a normal vanilla Crème brûlée yet the second was a pistachio flavor, coffee flavor and vanilla flavor. This was very interesting indeed. However what really made my night was the very kind staff and extremely personable owner. This lovely French lady was excited to see everyone and even more willing to help out in any way she could. Throughout the night she helped me make a surprise dish for my friends and then proceeded to give our group valuable local advise as to where the best brunch place in Paris is. Even after this she actually called her friend to see if she could book us a table there! This was an experience that I will certainly miss. With kind staff, excellent food and a romantic setting right next to the Eiffel Tower, there is no reason for anyone not to go here.

A change in plans left me with no reservation on a Friday evening in Paris! The wonderful staff at Au Petit Sud Ouest was able squeeze me in and the food was amazing. Highly recommended, but make a reservation.

Delicious! Love the foie gras, duck, and wild mushroom salad. Wish there was a little more options other than foie gras and duck. It’s weird, but awesome at the same time, when you have your own toaster on your table to toast bread. Service was great.

Amazing! I walked in one night hoping to get a table, but got turned away. I had no idea how busy they were. So I ended up making a reservation for the next night while I was there. Front of the house lady can be a bit stand off-ish. You will hear her say ‘impossible’ a lot if you try to walk-in on their busy nights. I was super excited and looked forward to enjoy my last dinner in Paris. They only serve all things duck here so. please don’t expect to eat any steak. My dinner reservation at 9 came around, I was seated 5 – 10 minutes late because they were busy. I ordered pan seared Foie gras with black truffle sauce as my starter. For my entrée, I was indecisive as they all sound so good. So when a very friendly gentleman(owner) came over to take an order, I asked him for his recommendation between duck confit or duck breast. His recommendation was goose leg confit. But. I felt like having duck so I went with duck confit instead. Foie gras was amazing. The size of(2) foie gras was pretty big. It was buttery good, out of this world. Easily one of the best foie gras I’ve ever had. Each table had a toaster that you could toast your endless bread. Duck confit. first bite was so good. Skin was crispy. Meat was juicy. I ate every bits of it which left me feeling a bit greasy because I loved crispy skin so much. So. don’t eat so much skin if you don’t want to feel greasy like I did. Luckily, I ordered it with wild mushroom and fried potatoes. Mushroom was excellent. It cut the grease really well. Potatoes were good, just needed extra salt. I didn’t finish the potatoes because I had too much food for my one tiny self. If I have a chance to return to Paris, I won’t hesitate to return here for that duck breast!

I cant say enough good things. But Ill try. For lunch, I started with a classic pork terrine that had some foie gras in the center. And a nice Bordeaux. The terrine was fantastic and the toast-your-own bread really was a nice touch because the terrine is a bit cold and the warm bread takes the chill off and improves the flavor. Next up was the best pan fried duck confit leg I ever ate. The got the entire skin crispy. Edge to edge. It was f – ing amazing. I had it with the pomme soufflée which were awesomely puffy and cèpes which were great too. The entire staff is great, very helpful in English or French(not sure about other languages). Seating outside was easy to get right at 12 when they open but seemed to fill up by 1pm. It is very reasonably prices for a nearly flawless lunch. They offer a few vegetarian and non-duck/goose items as well. Update: Had to go back 2 days later and try the duck l’orange. It was awesome too.

Fantastic restaurant specializing in all things duck. We had the foie gras three ways, and all were delicious. The seared foie was particularly good. I had the duck in red wine sauce, fantastic. Well prepared duck that fell of the bone in a wonderfully complex sauce. They also sell many duck products and many fine champagnes, wines and 45 year old Armagnac, which looked fantastic, but also very expensive. Great experience overall.

Loved the toaster on the tbales to toast your own bread, the super nice and friendly owners, and the delicious duck. The brie was also sooo good. The only thing I didn’t love were the potatoes on the side but that’s small fries compared to everything else. ;)

It was my second visit here and I’m changing my rating from 3 to 5. Why? Because I chose two meals recommended on here. The result? Rather than getting a meal that didn’t suit my tastes, I got what I want — saucy flavours! Seared duck fois gras. Massive taste, bbq-y, something different. Duck in red wine sauce. I should not have eaten the above! I could only eat two thirds and I regret that now. The service is absolutely top notch. Friendly, kind, not too much, not too little. The owners serve you. That’s how much they care. Do yourself a favour and forget the Eiffel Tower. Eat duck instead! My friend had the duck in orange sauce. I nearly had meal envy. Luckily I live in Paris.

My husband complained that this place had nothing but duck and foie gras and this is kind of true. But what duck and foie gras they offer! Simple, quality fare at a reasonable price. The restaurant is lovely and located near the Eiffel Tower. You will need to take a nice long stroll after eating here. Ordered the 3-way, cassoulet, duck breast and duck confit for the three of us. Madam was lovely and gracious. She warned us that it would be too much food and when we tried to order more items and I am glad we listened. I really liked the foies gras, the cassoulet and the glass of red and the duck breasts and duck confit the boys got also looked good. The fresh foie gras with sea salt was so simple but really allowed the quality of the foie gras to shine through. The semi-cooked was very good but pale in comparison. The pan fried was also delicious. But the all pieces were so huge and the two of us were only able to finish half of the foie gras. I could barely touch my cassoulet and let along try the apple tart and cheese… I felt so bad leaving so much food on my plates and having to decline bagging the leftovers. I really did like the food. My only suggestion to the owner is that they should consider offering smaller portions. If I travel solo, I would still want to visit have the 3 ways(in fact, the 4 ways). A tasting menu portioned for solo diner would be ideal.

Beautiful restaurant near Tower Eiffel. Mostly tourist with a few French. Excellent, friendly, efficient service. Good food, although my duck breast was over cooked. The foie gras starters were excellent. The Trilogies Crème Brulee was great. Pretty much agree with other customers reviews. Liked the toasters on the table and the duck/goose decorated napkins and etched wine glasses. Good WC. Doubt that we’ll eat here again. Expensive and we’ve eaten excellent duck in other places.

Stopped in for a post red eye flight late lunch at around 1:30 pm with no reservations. We all ordered off of the starters page and had chicken liver terrine and foie gras with fig and the piece de resistance was the pan seared foie gras in black truffle sauce! The service was good and they were all attentive even with my barely there French(but no worries they speak English).

Wow, this was really a unique experience and an absolutely wonderful restaurant. As many of the other reviews have commented the proprietors are warm and lovely people and that is reflected in all things at this establishment. They chatted with our kids(14 and 12) when they expressed interest and made sure they had a lovely evening. We started with the Degustation de 3 foies gras for the 4 of us. We figured it would allow the kids, who had never had foie gras before(can’t start them too early) to find a preparation they enjoyed. They loved them all and are wondering why we’d never gotten them foie gras before. If I can make one menu suggestion I would strongly recommend the foie gras with sea salt — I’ve never seen this preparation before and it was amazing. Simple, delicious, and a testament to the quality of the ingredients — truly outstanding and a nice change from the traditional fruit or sweet sauce based recipes. For mains we had duck with cherry sauce and duck with orange sauce, which the kids devoured. These are cooked well done. We also had the duck breast with mushrooms and potatoes served rare. This was outstanding with light airy fried potatoes and rich, velvety mushrooms. The proprietor suggested a lovely bottle of Bordeaux which was the lowest priced on the menu and which was absolutely delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this place — it was a wonderful evening with truly delicious food. The icing on the cake are the proprietors and staff though who really went out of their way to provide us with a warm and enjoyable evening. Their care helped convert our two kids to foie gras lovers for life. Thank you.

This is a review based on something I ate two years ago, and I STILL have dreams about how amazing the food was here. Reservations are definitely necessary, unless you show up super early(or early for the French!) since we saw about ten couples being turned away because of how busy everything was. Although the tables were tight and the house was full, the waitstaff was extremely professional and attentive. If you visit Paris, you must visit here! Highlights: Foie Gras 3-ways(Terrine, «Fried”/pan-seared, raw) was delish. I especially loved the warm apple compote on the pan-seared foie gras. Also love the cute little toaster that you can use to toast your bread for the terrine. Duck Confit — What everyone gets, but since I’ve made duck confit at home, this was nothing to write home about. Duck Cassoulet — Oh. My. God. I had never heard of cassoulet before but after the first bite, I was in duck bliss. This is a dish you HAVE to order. The white beans with the sauce was an amazing meld of flavors in my mouth.

Wow. What a great restaurant! If you ever wanted to try Foie gras 3 different ways(raw, terrine and seared), different parts of duck or anything duck, this is the place for you! I heard that they get their duck products from the same farm for over the last 20 years. In the front of the restaurant is a mini-store. Anything duck related and then some is available for purchase both cold and canned products. Reservations are highly recommended for the dining room. They have both an English and French menu. The service was wonderful. Very friendly and patient with us helping us understand their offerings on the menu. My husband and I shared the Foie Gras 3 Ways dish. Wow. Delicious! We then each had the duck breast, mushrooms, and potatoes. Sounds boring but omg, what a dish. I don’t brag about mushrooms or potatoes, but there was something in both that I could not stop eating them. The duck breast was cooked PERFECTLY, and reminded me of a really good med-rare filet mignon. There is no place like this in the USA, and I greatly miss dining here already. You MUST stop here during your stay in Paris. One of my favorite places in Paris. I can’t wait to go back! Enjoy!

My favorite restaurant in Paris. A must visit if you love duck and foie gras! Living in California means no foie gras since they are banned, so I’ll have to travel if I want to eat it. This restaurant is popular with tourists and majority of the diners here are tourists and foreigners. I love that the restaurant offer both English and French menu. Service was amazing! The owner of the restaurants and the waiters are really friendly & courteous to us, and very patient even though we have limited knowledge of French language. The foie gras melts in your mouth. They also provide a toaster at each table, so you can toast your bread and spread your foie gras on it. I’ll definitely come back when I visit Paris.

A conseiller…
