Café de l’Homme

I am sure that the view from this restaurant is excellent but we were never able to experience it in spite of our reservation being made three weeks in advance and confirmed the day before our planned dinner. We arrived in the pouring rain to be told that there was a private party and our reservation had been cancelled. We had to insist to speak to a manager and were treated quite rudely by men at the front door and then by a hostess. Multiple lies were told. In the end, a higher level manager disclosed that their reservationist took down the wrong hotel. I am sure that there are other restaurants with a view with honest and customer focused staff. We have never had an experience like this at any restaurant.

Étant invité par la commerciale du café de l’homme, on est super bien accueilli dès notre arrivée. On s’occupe de nos manteaux et nous accompagne jusqu’à notre table au milieu de la salle d’où l’on peut admirer la vue, pas n’importe laquelle, la statue derrière laquelle la dame de fer nous regarde :-)
Le service est vraiment top, on nous fait comprendre qu’on est important et tout le monde est aux petits soins. Notre garçon est très gentil et de bon conseil ! On nous offre une coupe de champagne pour commencer avec quelques olives à grignoter.
On nous apporte le menu, il est très joli et personnalisé avec un poème de Paul Valéry à l’intérieur. Le choix de plats est très riche et niveau prix c’est pas donné ! Certes on paie le cadre… et pas que apparemment !
En entrée je prends un velouté ! Très bon au demeurant. Joliment présenté et servi par une serveuse ! Top
En plat je me laisse tenter par un faux-​filet avec des épinards (que j’aime pas à la base mais je me dise qu’il faut tenter dans un resto comme celui-​ci)
La viande est bonne mais… pas sensationnelle :-(et, tout compte fait, les épinards m’impressionnent pas non plus. La touché de truffe et de mascarpone s’est complètement noyée avec l’ensemble et c’est dommage !
Côté dessert, en revanche, j’ai bien apprécié le cheescake Goûteux et bien présenté ! RAS :-)
Pour conclure, le service au top, la carte riche mais les prix trop onéreux et niveau goût/​sensations culinaire pas tout à fait à la hauteur !
On paie beaucoup trop cher pour le cadre, mais la vue de Tour Eiffel, bien qu’elle soit extraordinaire, né peut pas remplacer le plaisir et les attentes recherchées par ce genre d’endroit !

I went in May 2007. Great view of the Eiffel Tower, was able to go outside on the balcony and take a picture.
They did a good job with the duck. Don’t remember what else we had but price was less than Jules Verne. Service at the time was pretty friendly even though neither of us spoke French.

One of the best lamb dishes I ever had. Very nice interior with a gorgeous view to the Eiffel Tower. Top service. Hope it will reopen soon.

Le Café de l’Homme is a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal and taste one of the best coffees around. Warm, inviting interior, kind and attentive service, and a lovely terrace for those warm summer evenings.

I have eaten here twice for dinner and both experience was great. The view of the eiffel tower was GORGEOUS. Once i’ve eaten inside, and once I’ve eaten on the terrace. I HIGHLY recommend eating dinner out on the terrace so you can watch the sunset and see the eiffel tower. Gorgeous view, i can’t emphasize that enough. Food was pretty good both times and the place is pretty trendy looking. Casual dress. Definitely recommend eating here for that gorgeous view and some good food!

The food is so expensive, they do not have to server you with expertise, or care, you are nothing to this place, and the treat you like so.
Lame Staff. It could have been so much more.
They actually tried to yell at a lady because she was not spending enough.
(Her and her daughter had a steak, and 2 apps to start, with drinks, so whatever.)
TRAIN YOUR STAFF!
And either Lower your prices to the quality of your food, or replace the kitchen with cooks, not dishwashers.

this place has the *best* views of the Eiffel Tower, especially during dinner when you can watch the Eiffel Tower light show. Food was pretty decent, and service was so-​so, and menu is a bit on the pricey side.

I went to Paris with my school for a 3 night stay as we awere doing an all englsih play there, the very first day was boring and dragging as exams, i could not stand it, then when we realised that we were allowed to go to the eiffel tower to look out over the top, i could not believe my eyes it was such a nice site, you could see notre dame and the state in which the City was in outstanding condition.
it was clean everyone was well dressed.

Wir waren im Oktober in Paris und saßen draußen, mit wunderbarem Blick auf den Eifelturm. Wir tranken eine heiße Schokolade und gönnten uns einen Martini. Es war traumhaftes Wetter und wir fühlten uns wie Gott in Frankreich. Es stimmte Alles. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal da. Meine Freundin schwärmt immer noch von der heißen Schokolade, und der Martini R. war einfach super!

Le Café de l’Homme is a perfect setting for a romantic meal. Inside the Musée de l’Homme, you walk through to the back and can sit out on the terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower and la Seine. The food is also very good, not particularly cheap — but hey, this is Paris! Quality-​wise I had one of the best pieces of filet steak I’ve tasted in a long time, cooked to perfection and extremely tender. They don’t skimp on the ingredients. My date for the evening took the glaced salmon, which I tried and was also really good. To start I had, as usual, the fois gras, which was also excellent.
The wine recommendation was very drinkable… but if you know me, you’ll know I do say that quite a lot!!!

Ask for the terrace.
it is a unique spot on the terraced ground floor of the Musée de l’Homme. For a beautiful evening on a terrace. Beautiful view on the Eiffel Tower
