I could not have loved this place more. It was fantastic! Our waiter, Timothe, was adorable and attentive and joking with us the whole time. His English was excellent and he translated all of the specials for us. We had the Camembert baked with honey, the beef bourguignon and the chocolate soufflé with salted caramel ice cream. I mean, seriously. Every single thing we ate tasted like the best thing we’d ever had. SO delicious and so charming. Highly recommend!

Had dinner there tonight, ordered Escargot, baked bone marrows, beef bourguignon and sea bass. The food is fantastic. Beef bourguignon and sea bass are particularly great. Had lava cake for dessert, though really didn’t have space for it; it turned out to be wonderful as well. The wait staff were very friendly, and spoke English well. First time in a French restaurant, I got a detailed explanation of today’s specials in English. The crowd seems to be a good mix of English speaking visitors and locals. Highly recommend!

We went here for New Year’s Eve, and it was absolutely perfect. We did not speak French, and the staff accommodated us and helped us translate the menu. The restaurant itself is very cozy — great for a special night. Since it was NYE, there was a set menu, and everything we had was tasty. The prices were also great for what we had ordered. I would recommend this place!

Truly could not have loved our experience here more than we did! The restaurant staff were all very nice and spoke multiple languages, and had such a great demeanor– it really made everyone laugh and feel comfortable. They were all very attentive with checking on our table and ensuring we had waters, etc. The restaurant is cozy, cute and exactly what we wanted for our last night in Paris. The food was absolutely delicious! We got the escargots, onion soup gratinee, beef bourguignon, and the chocolate lava cake. The beef bourguignon was the best we’ve ever had(and we order this dish at every French restaurant we go to) and the lava cake was divine! The soup and escargots were also delicious, of course. Overall, I highly recommend Chez Fernand and can’t say enough good things about this restaurant’s food and service. Can’t wait to come back on our next trip!

Very good authentic french food. My wife and I came here after a recommendation from a local. Food was very fresh and good quality. I had the duck and my wife had a beef dish for our main course. Escargot for an appetizer was pretty tasty too. Chef and people that worked there were very friendly and the chef even took a picture with my wife. Would def go back!

This was a very crowed lovely French place!!! The food was just the best. The ambiance was friendly and full of happy people on their way to being happier after the food I am sure!!! The next time I am in Paris that’s where I am heading! I had some amazing food and did I mention great wine!

I personally hated this place. A Disney version of a French restaurant. Full of English-speaking tourists and waiters with too much personality. Forced to buy bottled Evian. Bread not served until specifically asked. Escargot that was meh. However, the fish was well prepared.

I cannot oversell this place! The food was simply marvelous! I ordered the steak tartar and the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Both were ridiculously delicious! Seriously. Best meal I’ve had in a while. Wine pairing was also great and the ambiance is nice and cozy. This is not a touristy place but it’s full of tourists, but that should absolutely not scare you away! Chez Fernand is very fairly priced for a dinner experience like no other!

A definite MUST. Tucked away and quaint. The tables are a bit close together but the food trumps that part, and being from NYC I am used to that. The beef bourguignon was sensational as were the Escargot and bone marrow appetizers. I had the baby chicken special which was good but it did not change my life. It is located in the St Germain area which is a nice area for a stroll.

Since I didn’t get to take the beau out for his bday dinner, we decided to save it till we get to Paris. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to take him there. Made a reservation and we were seated right away when we got there. This is not too small of a place, but they try to pack as many people as possible… so you will be elbow to elbow with the person sitting next to you. Food Items ordered: Onion soup — Delicous! better than any of the ones I had in the states… however the one I had the following day was better. This one came in second place. Had the toasted cheese over bread and chucks of onion. Yummy! Escargot — mMmmM… Yummy! This place had the best escargot we had in Paris. Very yummy and we had to scoop every little bit of sauce left onto a bread. That was how good it was. Sea Bass — This is was very light and what seems to be healthy. It comes with stir fry zucchini, carrots, and bean sprouts. Beef Bourguignon — Yummy! This is like a beef stew dish but better. The sauce in this dish is delicious. The meat is just as tender as in the beef stew. If you take a bit of this dish then eat the fish… the fish will be tasteless because this dish have very strong flavors. The sauce is also very good for dipping your bread. Dessert: Chocolate Lava cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream — The chocolate lava cake is very sweet and gooey, but if you eat it with the ice cream together, it makes it less sweet and ohhhhh so very good. If you like chocolate and ice cream, you need to try this dessert! I’m drooling just thinking about it.

To be honest I cannot remember if we had this place on our list of must try when in Paris or just stumbled across it. Either way it was well worth it. I cannot rave enough about everything… service, food, atmosphere, price… It was pretty quiet when we went in so were lucky as were told normally good idea to make a reservation. We got a decent table with no other next to us whereas on the other side several tables sat in a row very close to each other. So much so that customers sitting there struck up conversations with each other they were so close. Anyway about the service… orders were taken and came out quite quickly… never left sitting long between courses and the waiting staff asked if everything was okay at a frequent but not obtrusive level. We had some dishes we had never ever had before. My starter of baked camembert with honey was delicious(above my expectations) and my wife’s onion soup and snails hit the spot too. So ten out of ten for starters all round… probably even eleven out of ten for mine!!! She had the roasted duck magret for mains which also got the big thumbs up. I chose the legendary beef bourguignon… and words fail me… it was outstanding beyond words… one of my most memorable dishes I tasted in our time away. I finished with the crème brûlée which met the standard set before. These guys must have some of the best chefs around!!! Overall like I said before it had good atmosphere, the service was excellent, the food was OUTSTANDING!!! and the price what you would expect for what you got… if I could give six stars or more I would. So if you ever in Paris… go along and you should not regret it.

Came with a large group of people. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Everything we ordered was excellent! To start, we ordered mushroom ravioli with foie gras sauce, the bone marrow, country pâté, escargots, haricots verts, foie gras, and Camembert cheese. All the starters were really tasty and of ample size to share. The entrees we ordered included the boef bourguignone, saumon, and the veal chop. As with the starters, the entrees blew our minds. We finished with desserts of the molten chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream, tarte tatin, apricot sorbet, and vanilla ice cream with liquer soaked cherries. Of all the places visited so far, this tops the list of restaurants I would definitely return to.

Chez Fernand is a very interesting restaurant. My husband and I went there without any reservation. However, we were lucky enough to get a table right away. We were seated in their«foreign quarter»(I guess). The table on our left side were a Canadian couple, and the table on our right side were a British couple. The staff is very friendly, we even chatted about«breaking bad», «house of cards». The food was delicious. We started with escargot, bone marrow. I really enjoyed the escargot. Even my husband, who was not a fan of snails, admitted this dish was tasty. The bone marrow was super rich. It would be perfect for a party of four or more. Just too much for both of us. My husband had scallops as his main course, I ordered duck confit. Both were excellent.(One small note, I would actually like my duck confit a little bit less salty.) The texture of my duck confit was perfect. Very tender, fall off the bone. Debated a while on the dessert, eventually our waiter helped us to settle on the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. It was good, but not very special. We spent 2.5 hours on our dinner, with wines, good conversations(with both the staff and our neighbors). This place provided us a very pleasant experience. Even after the dessert, the waiter wouldn’t «rush us» by giving us the check. They really take time to allow their customer enjoy the time. Overall, we had a great time at Chez Fernand. The only small complaint I have is that the waiter forgot to give me my unfinished duck config at the end. I was hoping to have some tomorrow morning when I woke up. :-P

While my husband and I were in Paris this past August, we walked past this place on a walking tour, one of the many 100s of restaurants. It looked so cute inside, I wanted to come back and try THIS one for dinner and we were blown away! The beef bourguignon was the best dish of all. The staff was amazing and very friendly. The waiters even wrote down some local nightlife recommendations to check out after. I will definitely dine here again next time I’m in Paris!

For context, I am an American who lived in NYC for 27 years. Chez Fernand is among my favorite restaurants in the world. I stumbled upon it one hungry night in 2009 with girlfriends and our minds were blown by their truffled mushroom ravioli. So blown, in fact, that we returned there later on in the trip after brief visits to Amsterdam and Copenhagen. My husband and I then traveled to Paris for a week as part of our honeymoon earlier this year and I knew I had to dine here again. While I was just a poor student in 2009 who could only afford one pasta dish, we were now two working adults with a little more cash in our pockets. We went for lunch and had the most enjoyable meal of the entire week. We had escargot and the truffle mushroom ravioli to start and my husband had rack of lamb while I had divine scallops and leeks in a creamy mustard sauce for our mains. We finished off the meal with apple tatin and cappuccinos. I believe everything except the escargot was on the specials menu that day and every single thing was absolutely delicious. The space itself is cute and more spacious than it seems from the outside. I will be back for sure and recommend it to friends traveling to France.

Lots of American retirees came to this restaurant when we were there. Dropped by in the early afternoon to make reservation for the same night. Very friendly staff. We ordered: — mini ravioli with foie sauce — the best dish of the 3 — duck — this was delicious as well but very very heavy — beef bourguignon — this was also delicious. It was so soft and seemed to just melt. Delicious but also too heavy after the third or so bite. Overall — delicious, but too heavy.

A éviter absolument !!!

Un must !
