A Mexican restaurant in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. It’s…well it looks Mexican. So that’s a plus. The food wasn’t exactly great. I guess you could do worse, and I literally have no other Mexican restaurants in Paris to compare it to(yet), but I’d avoid. Unless you’re really feeling like margaritas and gobs of cheese. * GOODFOR: Tourists, families, and the owner. Probably. * NOTGOODFOR: The lactose intolerant, people who want a great Mexican dish, Mexicans.

The food was as unsavory as the atrocious service. Exceptionally rude establishment offering sub par plates masquerading as Mexican cuisine. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Me and my daughter had dinner at our last night in Paris We thought we are getting some authentic Mexican was nothing like Mexican cuisine . Over priced and stake was very tough. Sauce was tasteless. served with French fries, explain that Don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Poor service — no, really. But the Guacamole was good, the sangria good, and the margarita a little too sweet for my tastes. But nice spot, good people watching.

My family of four arrived at the restaurant with only one other table of diners. We speak Spanish so addressed the waiter in Spanish. He asked how many people in Spanish. We were barely spoken to as we were seated. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas, taquitos and guacamole, to start(or so we thought). He dropped the order off without a word, didn’t poor our drinks, etc. We were ready to order our entrées but he didn’t ask. We were given salsa from a jar, that orange cheese spread from a jar, and a white substance we could not identify. The guacamole was decent but came with just a few chips. When we requested more to finish the guacamole, the basket was tossed onto the table. When the next table arrived, he greeted them warmly, snatched the menus off our table and gave them to the new arrivals. He never took our order or returned. We finally asked for the bill, 60 € for drinks and 2 appetizers. I approached the waiter to tell him how disappointed we were and he LITERALLY pushed me away dismissively. I’ve traveled throughout Europe and the Americas and this will stand out as one of my worst dining experiences ever! Luckily, we found Tampico just 3 minutes away on Rue Xavier Privas and received fantastic service. Don’t waste your time and money here. Go see Gustavo and Miguel at TAMPICO.

Fajita without the fajita=not mexican. the food was INAUTHENTIC, OVERPRICED, &SUBPAR. I ordered the fajitas and they were served with all the sides but not the grilled meat& vegetables. When questioned, the owner said that despite what fajitas traditionally are, this is how they are served. Note, the menu states otherwise. Also, it caused food poisoning. Cheers to that!

I’m a bit torn about this place. A friend and I went here after our tour guide recommended it. He was right that the food was good, but it was quite expensive. My friend had the vegetarian fajitas and I had the chili con carne, we split the guacamole. The chips were a disappointment, but the guac was good. The chili con carne seemed like a small portion, but it was filling and one of the more affordable items on the menu. The drinks were strong, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was good and the staff was helpful and friendly. All in all, I’m glad we went and we enjoyed our meal but a large portion of the menu is overpriced. I might go back but now I’ll be prepared to spend a bit more than I expected the first time around.

We found El Chuncho our last night in Paris and we were ready for some Mexican food. The margarita’s were great and strong. The guacamole was incredible and I cannot stop thinking about how good the cheese on the enchiladas was!

A recommander.

The margaritas were fantastic! Food was a little pricey for what it was, but El Chuncho has been the best«Mexican» food in Paris thus far…

This place has the best margaritas in Paris, and I’ve tried more than a few! The food is as authentic as you can get in Paris(which unfortunately isn’t saying much). Unfortunately, it’s way over-priced.

If you are an American in Paris and find yourself with a Mexican Food Need Attack you are pretty much out of luck. But this is an interesting and entertaining attempt right in downtown Saint Germain des Prés. The fajitas resemble mexican food.

Sad place, not good food. Skip the margaritas and chips were stale.

I have been craving Mexican food ever since moving to Paris. Coming from California, eating good Mexican food has been a weekly routine of mine during my life. However, since moving to Paris, I have yet to find anything even close to Mexican food that I can find back home. So, my wife and I were in the mood for Mexican food and we came down to El Chuncho in the 6th arr. The interior and location is nice, I felt like I was in a scene of Zorro or something. It is rather small, I know I saw some stairs going up, but not sure if there is seating up there or what. There are a few things that a typical Mexican restaurant should have and that is: chips and salsa and reasonable prices. This one had neither. The chips were like cool-ranch doritos and the prices were ridiculous. We started with some guacamole, which for 10 € was basically just a couple of avocados cut up with a little bit of cilantro. it still was ok, because I love avocado, but dipping cool-ranch doritos into it was just wrong. For the main dish, my wife had a burrito, which was just basically just beans and chilli, which I could have made from home. I’m also pretty sure the rice on the side was balsamic rice… which was strange. I went with the 20 € fajitas, since I did not see anything on the menu that looked very appealing. They were good, not very mexican but good. But 20 €? For some beans, cheese, tortillas and some meat? Seriously the most expensive fajitas I have ever seen in the states are 10 €($ 12-$ 13). Maybe you can’t compare the two, but there is no reason mexican food should be priced this high. Beans, rice and cheese do not cost this much. Again, the food tasted good, like french food cooked in a Mexican sort of way, but the price is ridiculous.
