Hôtel de Vendôme

Excellent location for a first time visit to Paris. Ideal for visiting the Louvre, a morning run through the Tuileries, and macaroons at Ladurée. Accommodating and professional staff. Area with impressive historical significance, but more of an international tourist and business feel.

Even though most travel sites give this hotel a 5 star rating, I would say it’s more in the 4 star range for what Americans are used to. Keeping in mind that European hotels tend to be much smaller but rated higher, when comparing to other hotels that are 5 star, one may consider that to be the rating for this hotel. The main difference between this hotel and the «real» 5 star hotels is that you won’t be paying that $ 1000 a night price tag.
One of the most important things I consider when traveling is location. And staying here is definitely a good bet if you consider the location of the hotel as it sits right at one end of Place Vendome. It’s really close to everything and compared to staying in a 4 star hotel that you may consider to be a 2 star hotel, sometimes it’s worth it to pay a little more to get the comfort.
The staff was really helpful and welcoming. I would stay here again. Good deal for the price. My rate was $ 325 per night.

It’s not a 5 star hotel. Older structure and pricey. Cool historic address — 1 Vendome — is all it’s got going for it.

Stayed here in Sep. 2005 so my memory is a little hazy; but I do remember it being very French (meaning very eloquent but a bit pretentious — sorry)
and I remember I had a sprained ankle coming back from Eivissa — so I probably was not in the best of moods to deal with the French airs
But all in all it was extremely nice & everything you would expect from a hotel with the location & name it carries

Pour une occasion spéciale, on s’offre une nuit magique et unique à l’hôtel de Vendôme. Le chic ultime parisien. Sur la pLace, au milieu des joaillier et face au Jardin des TuiQue demander de mieux ?
Seulement 19 chambres de disponible, on est donc priviliégié jusqu’au bout. Elles sont spacieuses, dans le style classique parisien.
Autre alternative, on vient juste y dîner, on y déguste des produits frais selon le marché, la carte est est donc changeante au Un!
Pour ceux qui veulent se faire plaisir sans trop de moyen, on vient juste y boire un verre dans le bar anglais, très chic.

Luxueux et discret
J’ai donc eu l’enorme chance, pour un anniversaire amoureux, d’aller passer la nuit à l’hôtel de vendôme, idealement situé sur la place du même nom. C’est effectivement un très bon choix pour ce genre d’occasions: petit, cosy et pas trop empoulé, et offrant en même temps un luxe inoui de petits details. (je suis pas specialiste, mais j’ai pu comparer avec d’autres hotels de cette catégorie): chocolats, reglage personnalisé de la musique et de la lumière, fleurs, visiophone, et même la météo du lendemain sur un petit carton… chambres tres bien insonorisées, lit honteusement confortable. le petit dej au lit (28 euros) vaut la peine. Et quelle situation ! c’est magnifique ! C’est un lieu qui de réputation accueille les couples «illégitimes» (quand j’ai su ça j’ai compris pourquoi ils n’arrêtaient pas de me vanter la «discrétion» de l’hôtel ;). Mais rassurez vous ça né ressemble pas à une maison close… et ça met du piquant dans l’escapade quand on sait ça !
