My family of 4(2 young kids) — plus my MIL — stayed here in July 2011. I did extensive research for hotels in the Latin Quarter /Notre Dame area because we only had 2 nights in Paris and wanted to be central and conveniently close to everything for our very brief stay. The reviews for Henri IV I found online were mixed but generally satisfactory. A major complaint from other reviewers was the noise from the street especially if one got a room facing the front of the building. Mind you the view from my MIL’s room that was facing the street was spectacular! St. Severin church was right across the street from the hotel and beyond in the distant you can see the Eiffel Tower. We got the larger suite room at the back of the building(which was my preference given the fact that we have 2 young jetlag kids and wanted optimum sleeping conditions). Luckily since my MIL is a very sound sleeper and jetlag she did not experience any issues with noisy weekend revelers down in the streets below. And we were there from a Sat. through a Mon. Apparently the windows are double glazed and sound proof. Us being in the back of the building was perfect. We had 3 single beds which we were able to make do as my youngest was only 2 so can easily share a single with one of us adults.(See photos) The hotel overall is very typical of European cities but very well maintained. Things are cramp and small. It’s an older building that they’ve converted into a modern hotel. If you go with an open mind and no particular expectations then you will find Hotel Henri IV perfectly decent. The only complaint I will make is probably about the breakfast that came with the room. Not all that spectacular. I would recommend Hotel Henri IV if you’re ever in Paris.
