Lovely location right on the Seine and near the museums. I popped in here after class for a glass of wine and maybe a sandwich and was delighted with the kind service and attentive waiter. Seems popular with tourists likely because of the location and inviting atmosphere, so I’m not sure if this is authentic Paris but I enjoyed it enough. The cheese plate was phenomenal complete with fresh tomatoes and a few leaves of lettuce. I had a Bordeaux D’Orc I think which was probably the best glass of wine I’ve had in awhile. Also just felt like mentioning there were sweet little blankets along the café tables to keep you warm. Would definitely return.

We had wonderful meals both times that we enjoyed the hospitality of La Fregate. The service was attentive, good humored, and helpful with the menu and methods of preparation. The quality of the food was top-notch and timely served. The crying tiger steak was everything promised by our server and brought tears to the eyes of the women. I had a white fish prepared Thai style which was some of the best I have had in seafood-oriented destinations around the globe. The pavlova dessert(raspberries, merengue, sumptuous whipped cream) was a fittingly delicious end to an otherwise very delightful meal. Unlike the claims made in other reviews, the prices were not exorbitant, the service gracious, and the proximate location to our 7th apartment a real plus. A very, very nice wrap-up to a day of touring the Louvre and the Seine with our friend from Lower Saxony.

La fregate was the perfect place to stop with my two friends for lunch on our walk to Notre Dame. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. The French café decorations were very pretty and I loved the French instrumental music playing in the background. We sat by the window, which had a gorgeous view of the Seine River. For my lunch, I ordered the French Onion Soup and a Macchiato to drink. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was the best French Onion Soup I’ve ever had– so much cheese! The flavor of the broth was perfect. My Macchiato was served in a tiny little mug. I was actually laughing about it with my server. I ended up ordering a second one. My friend ordered a Croque Monsieur and the other ordered a chicken sandwich. Both were great, but I loved the Croque Monsieur(because again, cheese). The food wasn’t nearly as expensive as I had expected. We were all very happy with the price, given the quality of our food and service. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner to tourists. The servers speak basic English. Our server made a huge effort to hold conversations with us and make jokes, which we appreciated. It also has the ideal menu for anyone looking for the most popular french dishes(French soup, sandwiches, croissants, cheese, desserts).

We absolutely love it here! The salmon with mashed potatoes is my favorite dish. The atmosphere and service is very nice. They also have the best chocolate mousse in Paris!

Reliable place right in the middle of visiting museums and the park. We sat in the far back with our daughter and were very comfortable and still had attentive service. All of the food was decent and hit the spot.

We stopped here on our way to the Orsay because it’s right on the walk. There were three of us: one ordered a salad Niçoise, the other 2 ordered steak and fries meals. We each ordered small glasses of house wine. The total was $ 68, so not super high but a significant amount. While the restaurant is beautiful inside, and the waitstaff was very nice, the food was terrible. It was 1:15PM so the place was busy. The salad did not have fresh or seared tuna. It was brown, flaked, and definitely from a CAN. Not at all what was anticipated in ordering this famous French salad. We’re from the midwest in the US(cattle country) and know our steaks; we still can’t figure out which cut we received. Gristle and tough, so maybe skirt? Skip this café for another in the area, or even the gorgeous restaurant in the museum itself.

Service sucks. Don’t bother. Never treated so badly. 56 € for the most awful service on this Saturday(4⁄25) lunch around 1:30PM. The service with the blonde spikey hair and attitude should be let go. He is the worst.

Tourist central, so the staff speaks English. Very busy right between the louvre and orsay museums. My duck was over cooked, my wife’s chicken was truly delicious. A good Apple tart and crime brûlée was a nice finish. Wait staff is brusque, but capable.

Well… a prior reviewer wrote that wait staff giggled at them. Our waiter did not. In fact my professional restaurant critic wife questioned him on our order, thinking she had not been given the exact dish ordered, and he very patiently explained how this particular duck dish is prepared in France and it was a reasonable enough explanation. IOW he was polite and very helpful. We had a very tasty escargot prepared just right; the Blanchette de Veau(veal in cream sauce); and the time honored Crocque Monsieur for our teenager. I would rate lunch at this place a solid B for a café right next to a major museum(Musee D’Orsay). Yeah, a lot of tourists but we ate with a number of French citizens as well. Elsewhere in Paris the place would be B– or even a C mainly for the sloooow service.
