Food — 2⁄5 Service — 2⁄5 Atmosphere — 3⁄5 Prices — 4⁄5 This restaurant looks pretty, but the food there is not really tasty. I believe they cook asap, because there are a lot of tourists in that area, and they do not really care about food quality.

Meal was just okay. Nothing great. Had escargot over the mussels and then the salmon. I was pleased with the salmon. Wife was not pleased with the bacon potatoe rustica of sorts. Not that great of flavor. Servers were okay. Not enough to move it beyond three stars.

Solid, quaint French bistro. Escargot were very tasty — comes with a basket of baguette to dip in the buttery goodness. Mousse du chocolat was delicious, you could actually taste the chocolate! Americans, who would’ve thought!

9÷6÷15: I believe that this restaurant, though very cozy and homey, was the weakest food-wise of all the traditional restaurants we visited here. It’s not that it wasn’t authentic, in fact, that’s probably their biggest problem – the food tastes like it was made by your average home cook. That is to say, it was edible, but only eat here if you want to taste truly traditional food at the cost of enjoyment. It is probably significant that all the French item names were followed with English, which may or may not indicate something to you. 1. Pression 50cl 7.80EUR: This was a French beer. Sorry I don’t remember how it tasted. 2. San Pellegrino 50cl 3.10EUR: Sparkling water. 3. Verre Merlot 5.00EUR: Sorry, cannot remember how this tasted. 4. Escargots x67.00EUR: So if you’re gonna get this, I hope you have tried this at home in America cause the difference is HUGE, or more exactly, the opposite – TINY. Compared to the US versions that are typically 1.5″ wide or so, these are about 2⁄3 the size from the exterior, but the flesh is MINUSCULE. You can barely clip the meat with that tiny snail spoon, just enough to drag the rest of the pea-sized meat out. One even was unreachable – I told the waiter there was no snail in one shell, and he brought out a toothpick!!! SERIOUSLY. Blew my mind that he did that. Anyway, it did work. Taste wasn’t great either. Sooooo… I dunno if this is typical of French snails, but you should totally avoid this if you’ve had it before elsewhere. 1⁄10. 5. Coq au Vin(rooster stew) 13.50EUR: The famous French dish – «rooster» in wine. Whether they used a real rooster or just chicken, I cannot say. But it didn’t look too pleasant – a dark greyish blackish color. And despite the dark color, didn’t really have too much taste. If you gotta try it, try it but don’t expect nothing great. 3⁄10. 6. La Raclette Grison(with smoked and dried beef) au Lait Cru 22.00EUR: My French friend from home told me about this traditional dish, so I had to try it. Basically it’s a little like fondue, except instead of dipping in cheese, you melt the plain cheese directly above, and it drips onto your food. This version is one of many on their menu, and is the most expensive. They give you a bowl of boiled small potatoes, some vegetables, lots of slices of really good cheese appropriate for this dish, and thinly-sliced cured meat. From the description it’s smoked beef – but to give you and idea, it’s like ultra-dry prosciutto that’s somewhat less salty. There’s quite a bit, so at least the materials are somewhat worth the price difference. Taste-wise though… I dunno if it’s cause of my American palate, but it’s not really my thing. I don’t quite get how the cheese(though super good) enhances the flavors of the various substrates. They don’t really jive together. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that Europeans would appreciate this more. But I guess if you’re American, you might agree with me. Still, nothing too fancy here, so I’ll just say 5⁄10. 7. Aventuriere 9.50EUR: Dessert crêpe. They pour some REALLY strong and harsh liquor on there and light it on fire. The liquor is horrible – but I noticed that many places in France, even the fancy expensive places, use ultra-harsh brandies to accompany desserts, so maybe it’s standard. I dunno. Nevertheless, the dish is cheap crap. This one is with peaches I think, but all of it was canned! Cannot believe they just put a bunch of diced canned peaches and cream inside a crêpe and sold it for nearly 10EUR. Wtf. Anyway, it tastes like crap and we didn’t eat more than a few bites. 1⁄10. So, some commenters have noted they liked the interior and vibes. I guess I sorta can see that. It does feel kinda cozy. The server was quite weird though, and we never really felt comfortable. Just felt off here. Food wasn’t good. Service was abnormally strange. I say go elsewhere. 2⁄5 #french #france

The bar is pretty low in this neighborhood, a fact I lost sight of when I was seduced by the previous multi-star ratings. Mediocre food accompanied by surly service; never again. The good news? The meal was cheap, we left not hungry, and we didn’t get sick.

As an American tourist in Paris, I can’t say that I know what authentic French cuisine tastes like, but I can tell you when food is homemade and delicious. La Luge’s restaurant front, in my opinion, isn’t any different from the twenty other cafes and restaurants in the area, so it was difficult to decide on which place to sit down and eat. We have ordered the same dishes in several other businesses surrounding this restaurant and have come to find the place that does it best. They offer traditional French dishes and claim on their menu, items that are homemade(maybe three? dishes at most are marked as not homemade). My husband and I ordered from their«prix fixe» menu and got to sample each other’s dishes. Highly recommended dishes– French onion soup and their lamb stew! I believe French onion soup is a dish that could easily be messed up. Their soup is perfect– not overly salted or breaded, and has good onion taste. Their lamb stew contains tender pieces of meat, potatoes, and a whole lotta flavor. They also offer fondue, which we have heard from locals, is very good. We have been here twice in our one week long visit… We will be back before we leave.

My wife, daughter amd I ate dinner here aug 6 and had mixed results. My daughter had the onion soup and as reported, it was great. I Had the Salad campagne and it was good but not great. My wife ordered quiche Lorraine and it came out burnt. She’s not one to complain, so ate around the burnt parts. The beef stew was very good as was the orange duck. The crème brûlée candy top was excellent. Service is pretty decemt, too.

I don’t know what it is, but I really loved this place. The service was very good. The location is just off of Boulevard Saint Michel. I ended up eating here twice in the same day. I had the Bordeaux and the Rhone wines(by the glass), which were both pretty good. For a starter, I had the French Onion soup, which was outstanding. It wasn’t smothered in cheese like you find in the U.S. It had thick crusty pieces of bread in the soup. The Roasted Chicken was pretty good too. It’s one leg of roasted chicken. You get chicken, fries, and a salad with that place. The Honey Pork Ribs were okay. The pork was kind of tough, and it had a layer of fat on the top, which was not great. But you can cut the fat off pretty easily. The potato au gratin served with pork, however, was amazing. All meals are served with an outstanding French bread rolls.

Outstanding meal in Paris! Actually, this was the first good meal of our trip. We were welcomed by the host and got great English speaking service. We ordered the 12 euro price fixe and a bottle of wine. The onion soup was unbelievable… not too salty and just the right amount if onion. The roast chicken was the best tasting chicken I’ve ever had. The neighborhood is quite touristy but charming. I can’t say enough good things about La Luge.
