Cool little spot with décor that doesn’t take itself too seriously… The wait staff from the hostess, the manager and our waitress(Roamoa) and our some(Narcis) were trés fab — all none of whom took themselves too seriously either — and that’s what we really liked about the place… GREATFOOD — NOPRETENSE!!! The artichoke soup with truffle oil and foie gras — OMG to die for… but stay alive because you will want to savor every last drop… The best soup course we have ever had! «Mature» ribeye for 2(LOL their way of saying«aged») was perfectly cooked and perfectly sliced at table side. While this was a super meal and a 10 of 10… the Ribeye for 2 at Carne Vino in Las Vegas is still a step ahead… but now we’re picking things apart here. Desserts… yes Desserts they just kept bringing out desserts for us to try… OMG so much fun and delicious… Then after a phillsoifcal discussion with the somm Narcis, he decided to test my wine tasting ability… dummy me told him I could identify the grape… HA! i did, cab franc and I even got the region of St. Esteph(ok he helped a little on the region)… We will be back and back and back!

We failed to make reservations until the week before our Euro trip, and I was distraught that most the restaurants we wanted to try were booked. For international trips, I tend to trust Trip Advisor more which is how I found Le 114 Faubourg, and I’m so lucky I did! From the second you walk in you know this will be a special meal. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly, and each table is adorned with a beautiful cut flower and rose petals. SO romantic. Here’s what we tried: FOOD — 4.5÷5 Amuse Bouche– I don’t remember what this was to be honest, but I DO remember liking it. A lot. Beef tartare– loved this. Perfectly balanced flavors and acidity with generous portions. It also comes with french fries(haha) Roasted red mullet– this was a recommendation from our waiter, and it was one of the BEST things we ate our entire trip! He mentioned the fish being a bit strong but we thought it was beautiful and delicate. Seriously, you won’t regret getting this one! The curried vegetables underneath are just the perfect compliment as well. Ibaïama free range pork rib– this one was HUGE and cut table side. It was very satisfying in a steak-like way. It also comes with super creamy mashed potatoes and a tangy frisee salad. Good but I probably wouldn’t order it again, as it didn’t blow my palette away and was just satisfying. DESSERT The gave me free macarons with a beautiful tall candle since it was my birthday! And man let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS. So chewy and tasty– the boyfriend ordered I take the second green one home(and he never, ever eats pastries)! WINE Yes…French wine. So obsessed with all the whites I tried! The best part is a of the bubblies and whites are stored in a ice bucket nearby… perfect for speedy refills ;) SERVICE5.5÷5 Our waiter was incredibly attentive and friendly, without disturbing the dining experience. Americans rejoice because pretty much everyone here(and in France in general) is perfectly bilingual, so communicating is easy. And since we bought many plates he also happily split all of our food, and each of our portions were beautifully presented. All in all this was a fantastic and romantic birthday dinner. Definitely recommended if you’re in the area and looking for a special meal with a loved one. Thank you Le 114 Faubourg for a fantastic birthday dinner!

Excellent presentation and a wonderful experience. We let the waiter suggest a dish and the sommelier an accompaniment and it was perfect. A little expensive but well worth it, a Michelin restaurant without all the Michelin fuss. Would definitely come back.

Great restaurant connected to Le Bristol that offers great service without the attitude and discomfort that sometimes comes along with 3 michelin starred restaurants. I really enjoyed my meal, particularly the foie gras. You are seated quite close to other tables, which for me made the experience a little claustrophobic. This was otherwise a fabulous gastronomic experience.

Having eaten at quite a few restaurants… this is my FAVORITE. Proper, correct, meticulous but not too snotty, this restaurant has the perfect environment. Contrary to your 3-Michelin star that can seem a bit over the top and professional, this experience keeps you in the realm of normal life(a really good one though!) You enter into the hallway of the«Bristol» and are greeted. Your coats are taken(if you want them to be) and you are gracefully taken to the dining room where your eyes jump from left to right as you admire the flowers. An orange wall with contrasting colored flowers yet not jarring the the eye. A perfect visual to a perfect meal. Lunch for me is how you should take on the 114 Faubourg. A small but well-crafted menu with entrée, plat de résistance, dessert. Your choice is either 1, 2 … 2, 3 or paying the extra bit for 1, 2, 3(entrée, plat, dessert). Their steak-tartare is unrivaled to any I’ve ever eaten and the duck fat fries that accompany them are soooo delicious. The bit of salt and crunch with the soft and silky tartare. Food at the 114 Faubourg is traditional European food with a slight twist but still stays true to its roots. A restaurant that is aimable! One must and absolute must is their dessert. Never will you find a better way to delight the eyes and the tastebuds than one of their millefeuille or soufflé. 1-Michelin star can be the best if you want a comfortable dining experience! :)

Carpe diem…
