SCAM! Beware! This place takes advantage of Americans. Once they realize you are American they are after you money. This was our first meal in Paris and it put a really bad taste in our mouth — the food and the service! The food was subpar and super expensive. I asked for two waters and got two miniature bottled waters at 9 euros a piece! Insane. Then on top of that the waiter asked for a tip when running my card — being American and used to tipping I gave him 20% only to find out that in Paris the tips are included in the bills already. This place is terrible and gives the French a bad name.

The food is just OK, the mini bottles of still water are completely over priced as is the food, and this café should be skipped entirely because it is located too close to the Eiffel Tower and exists only as a scam. But what would I know as I am just a silly American… which the waitstaff will prey upon immediately once they realize. In steps our waiter, Guillaume — who unabashedly will ask for a tip even though the service charge IS included on the bill and nothing exceptional has been done.

Went here because it was close to our Pullman Eiffel Tower Hotel. Nice café but food was quite less than desirable. Even the French onion soup was bad. Order their special Cote de Boeuf(steak) and it tastes like it was boiled in plan water, no seasoning whatsoever. Can you tell that I was greatly disappointed? Yes so unless you simply want to have a beer and sit at a café, DONTEVENBOTHER!!! Bad!

We had a very nice late lunch after seeing the Eiffel Tower. The waiter was excellent, he really bent over backwards to help the 8 of us ! Food was great.

The food was fine but we paid a lot for a basic breakfast. Our waiter used a similar tactic as described by at least one other reviewer: he spoke excellent English but then added items to our table that we had clearly not ordered(«hot chocolate for the children?» No. Then he brought out hot chocolate with the meal). He was passive aggressive to the point that we couldn’t get his attention to pay the bill(and the place is not very big but still he successfully avoided us). We won’t go back. Consider walking down Suffren away from the Eiffel Tower to the next intersection where there are more restaurant.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Terrible food, terrible service. Manager has an attitude problem and the food is disgusting. We had the most mediocre escargot and the shittiest piece of veggie sandwich you’ll ever see. It was completely inedible and when we asked them to exchange the dish they refused and said that’s our problem. Complete tourist trap AVOIDATALLCOSTS

We went into this restaurant to have a late and light dinner after we went up to the Tour Eiffel. Unfortunately it was already a bit late to go back to Montmartre where our hotel was. The waiters try to push the tourists into this restaurant showing you the menu and telling you how great the food is. This is something I doesn’t really like. We had a cheese burger and a croque provencial. The food was OK but not really good for the money. I won’t recommend this restaurant if you have some time to travel around. There are nicer places in the city.

Yes, this restaurant is on the lookout for tourists, handing you a menu as you walk by, practically pushing you into the nearest seat and then shoving you at the door as soon as you cleaned your plate. All true. But we had a delicious dinner of ravioli and pasta and the crème brûlée was better than any we had tried that week. It was our last night in Paris and we just wanted something fast near our Eiffel Tower apartment. This fit the bill. I wouldn’t tell you to go out of your way for this restaurant but if you are choosing between a few right by the Eiffel Tower, this really isn’t a bad choice.

One thing that you will be guaranteed of with this place, is that it will be the most MEDIOCRE meal that you will have anywhere in Paris and will certainly be the most overpriced. We had lunch there today, it was awful. Don’t want to bore you with the details but there a many other brilliant bistros in this city that will serve up a splendid meal for the same price, but not this place. This a wannabe Paris Bistro where the owners are capitalizing on it’s close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. It quantifies the term ‘tourist trap’ There is another Brasserie /Bistro a few doors down to the right on the corner(away from the river) that I’d wished we had tried instead. Buyer beware with Le Bailli de Seffren.

I almost drop kicked the manager on the way out of this piece of dog crud establishment. THEMANAGERIS A CONARTIST! A true swindler. We walked in, ordered two pan au chocolat(chocolate filled croissant pastries) and two Italian coffees. The manager is serving us and brings us what we ordered. He then comes back with a basket of three, fresh and hot, croissants. He says, «Here, try these, they are warm.» We eat our two pan au chocolat, drink our two coffees, and finished off the warm croissants in hopes to make it to the Eiffel Tower quickly. We asked for the check, and when the manager brought it to us the bill was 20.10 €. For two coffees and two pan aux chocolate?! We looked at the bill closer and realized that the price broke down as follows: 6.60 € for the two coffees(expensive on its own) 5.40 € for the two pain au chocolat 8.10 € FORTHETHREECROISSANTSHEBROUGHTTOOURTABLEWITHOUTUSORDERINGANDTOLDUSTOTRYTHEMBECAUSETHEYWEREWARM. He made no mention that we would be charged for them if we ate them. He brought them to us without us ordering them and then this A HOLE wouldn’t take it off the bill and wanted to adamantly argue that since we ate them we had to pay. He then lied and said«I put the basket of croissants on the table and said you guys can have them if you want.» This was another lie! He would not take it off the bill and he would not reduce the price at all! He banks on the fact that he can continually rip off tourists. Other restaurant workers around Paris told us that he was not a good guy and that what he did is not customary here in Paris and that he just ripped us off. If I wasn’t on the beginning part of a long vacation I may have escalated this further and seen where it went but I decided to simply turn to Unilocal and advise all of you to NEVEREVEREVEREATHERE!!! I HOPEHESHUTSDOWNDUETOHISHORRIBLESERVICE and according to other reviewers, their horrible food and other problems. Bad businesses don’t last long. Lets shut this guy down. I’ll post a picture of the receipt to show how ubsurd this guy was. HOPEYOURRESTAURANTCLOSESBECAUSEITSUCKS!

Nine of us went here for dinner. The food was pathetic. It was not disgusting, but it was not good. The veggie burger consisted of deep fried potato patties with a thick sauce. We ask for ketchup and was told that they did not have anymore, and as we walked out we saw buckets full of it. We also asked for tap water and was told they did not have any and could not provide it and that we needed to buy bottled water. Instead, we filled up our bottles at the bathroom sink. The waiter was slightly rude, The fish and chips were not good, about the only thing that was OK was the house salad. We would not recommend this restaurant.

Before my trip to Paris I knew the one thing I wanted to do was hang out in a café(in the sun), drink wine, have some cheese and watch the city walk by. This is the perfect place to do just that! Not only do you get the weird tourists because of the proximity to the Eiffel Tower but the regular folks out and about are a hoot! We happened to be walking by and wanted a simple place to hang out after seeing the tower. An employee was on the sidewalk and told us that this was the place to be! Sure, he was just amping it up for the business but I found this quaint place quite welcoming. The service was prompt and attentive without being over bearing. I had me quite a few delicious glasses of wine and my friend and I split the cheese platter. It had a variety of tastes as well as some grapes, apple slices and bread. Over all this was just what you would expect from a sidewalk café in Paris. Sure, it was a bit pricey but welcome to the city… any major city in the world is expensive people. Get used to it. I was surprised that there was a large selection of beer which helps matter. There was a mix of tourist and local clientele so the simplicity of this place must keep people coming in. I liked that the restroom was in the basement and you basically had to travel back in to to use the«facilities.» Again, just part of the charm. Next time I am in Paris I will stop in for a glass of red, maybe some beer and munchies as well. Even if the food isn’t the best in the world I love the easy squeezy attitude for this simple café.

The onion soup was cold and the cheese was not fully melted. The soup also seemed to have dehydrated bits of onion that weren’t fully rehydrated. It was convenient and close to our hotel, but we never went back. I would have given it one star but the service was attentive to us and my wife’s croque monsieur was ok.

Eine Schande für Paris An absolute bad restaurant and dirty, so a bad meal I’ve not seen. That shows a simple snack bar in Berlin better. Everything burned, cold coffee lousy waiter, go just do not respect nor extremely expensive! The contribution will also translate into English and French. A disgrace to Paris

Went here sort of late one evening after being at the Eiffel Tower. There was a waiter at the door that welcomed us in as we walked by and took a chance on it. The place was not really that busy and seemed to have a mix of Parisians and tourists. We ordered the onion soup gratinee and the country ham plate in addition to a 50CL bottle of Bordeaux. The wine was fine but the onion soup tasted like it had come out of a freeze dried package. There were hardly any onions and what onions were there were oddly crispy and tiny like you may find in a packet of Lipton soup. The broth itself tasted like it had been watered down. The country ham plate(12Euro) came and it was pathetic, 6 scraps of prosciuttto that were so dried out that they were inedible and two tiny pickles. Perhaps the ham had been cut a day or more ago? For the equivalent of $ 18 we were quite angry and sent it back. We asked for the check and left. The only reason I am giving one star is because at least the waiter seemed genuine when he apologized to us. What a terrible rip-off this place is or perhaps since we were tourists they thought that they could serve us anything and we wouldn’t complain? Easily the worst place we ate at in Paris. Avoid this place unless you are just looking for some drinks.

I don’t know why this café isn’t rated that highly. My friend and I spent all night on a plane and had an 8 hour layover in Paris so we decided to go check out the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately, it was 6:30 am and nothing was open yet, except for this great café. I was a bit surprised that it was open so early in the morning, but we were starving so I was counting my lucky stars that it was open. We walked in and there were fresh croissants already waiting on the tables. There were a few other people, but overall it was pretty empty because it was so early. My breakfast was amazing. It was a ham and cheese omelet filled with potatoes. I couldn’t ask for anything better after flying all night and not getting much sleep. The other best part: Free Wi Fi! I definitely recommend checking this place out.

During our week stay in Paris, the BF and I found ourselves at this little café more than once. I can only assume it has much to do with the close proximity to the Eiffel Tower that kept their doors open during uncommon dining hours… as the only locals that likely set foot in are the staff, themselves. It’s definitely for tourists. Our hotel was a stone’s throw away so that’s why we were there. I did thoroughly enjoy the Croque Madame that became my favorite start to the day when we started our day HERE… but was pretty disgusted by the outrageous charge for two coffees and two orange juices. I mean, seriously — TWENTYEURO. No doubt a price reserved for tourists that might not know any better. Merci beaucoup, jerks. If you’re going to Paris, learn enough French so you can avoid most brasseries and cafés that have menus in a dozen languages… unless you enjoy subpar experiences and being thoroughly taken advantage of.
