We came here by accident because we could not find the place we actually wanted. It was a very pleasant surprise. The food was amazing! We were planning for duck at the the other place but ended up eating the lamb here because they made it sound so good and it was!!! The best lamb I have had in my life!!! We also had the escargot, crème brûlée and apple pie(which is not what you think, but better than expected) which was all amazing. I’m glad we didn’t find the other place.

We came here a couple of times for drinks. They have a great happy hour from 14:00 — 19:00 with discounted beers and wines, and a nice little personal bowl of pretzels, chips, or some other snack. The staff was very friendly, and you could tell that it was a family run establishment(by the same couple of kids coming in after school and doing their homework at one of the tables). I tried the Onion Soup while I was there one night and it was just ok. The main plates and salades looked and smelled delicious.

We took the last table, hemmed into the deepest recess of the restaurant — the décor of exposed stonework and stout wooden furniture adding to the impression of rustic coziness. The welcome — warm and sincere. The staff — attentive and engaging. Amongst some fairly average food a couple of high points: the ‘7 hour’ lamb(I assume that’s the cooking time rather than its age!) and the gratin dauphinois. Had they been on the same plate it would have made an exceptional meal. Worth making a special request, I’d say. Creative, if a little too frequent, furniture arranging and picture frames spontaneously falling from the walls provided an unexpected diversion.
