Awesome place! Quiet and apart from the main street but still nearby. The prices were great and you get waaay better food than what you pay for! Highly recommend it!

Awful experience. The food was served cold, except the French onion soup which was ok. The servers didn’t pay much attention. When we complained they didn’t care and just microwaved the plate!!! The looks of the place is cozy, however it

Situated on the street just behind our apartment, this is the first place we take guests who stay with us. A broad selection of traditional French dishes, with multiple fixed price menus so that virtually everyone can afford something nice, and with mediocre to good food. Despite primarily having only beer and wine, they do have a handful of aperitifs, which allow unfamiliar tourists and visitors to get the much slower(and enjoyable) French style of supper with a little drink, an entrée, a nice plat, some dessert, and an actually quite palatable cup of coffee afterward. Since we take virtually everyone who comes to visit us there, I make a point to try something different every time, and honestly I’ve never had a bad meal there. Like I said, it generally hovers between mediocre and good. Especially nice is the service. Even when we’ve gone at a busy time, the wait staff are all attentive, polite, and very good at deciphering poorly pronounced French. There are a ton of ‘traditional’ French restaurants on rue de la harpe and the surrounding area, but many if not most of them are hit and miss as to quality, service, etc. Also, if you’re only in town for a short while and want a nice Parisian evening, go a little early, enjoy your dinner, then stop in the little supermarket nearby and grab a bottle of wine, and head a block or two over onto the island, head down to the trees on the western bank and enjoy your wine while overlooking the Seine.

Things to love here: Excellent service — somehow lacking in many restaurants around Paris ½ bottles of wine — a great way to enjoy two different wines in one sitting Pre-fix menu — you get an appetizer, entrée and dessert at a decent price Things you wish you could love The French Cuisine — not very exciting. My duck a l’orange was bland and served with simple boiled small potatoes with no seasoning at all. My husband had the lamb and it was only flavorful because that’s just how lamb is. Dessert was also pre-made frozen cups of chocolate mouse or panna cotta. While tasty, it reminded me of the cases of dessert in a diner back in NY. I would return here, but next time, ask the waiter what their best dish on the menu is.

This place screams ambiance when you see a big moose head in the dining room. =P My Parisian friend took me here on my last night in Paris. Primarily because my boyfriend is a big fan of cheeses and this place has a prix fixe cheese fondue meal. It tooked delicious, but was a little bit above our budget. We opted instead for the other prix fixe menu. The menu list was quite extensive actually. There were a lot of options. For about 16 euros, I ordered 3 courses: *White wine mussels: Tons of fresh mussels. A hint of wine. so good. *Rabbit with mustard cream sauce: Came with a side of boiled potatoes. Loved the mustard cream sauce. For me the rabbit was so-so. Tasted like chicken =P *Chocolate profiteroles — I’m sure this was good. Just not too memorable. Seating was a little tight. Be comfortable with your neighbors. But this would be a great place to eat and people watch since it is located in such a lively neighrhood!

I was goin to give it two stars. The food came from a can and was pretty bad. The onion soup, their speciality was bland and lacking bubbling crusty cheese. The dessert was still frozen. Bad. Bad. Bad.

We were walking through Saint Michel, when we saw a sign outside promoting their pre fix menu, which was very reasonable for saint Michel restaurants, so we stopped in. The place was empty and quiet and the service was very attentive and nice. I had the onion soup for the appetizer and it was so good. Best I have ever had. The dinner was a disappointment, hence only 4 stars. i ordered the beef bourguignon and the sauce was top notch, but the beef was half fat and it should have never been served. For dessert, I opted for the cheese dessert and they gave be pieces of baguette and brie cheese. It was a great experience

This place is right in the heart of the Latin Quarter, near the intersection of Saint Germain and Saint-Michel. On a cobble stone street, the place provide plenty of room to sit down, without bumping elbows with other diners like so many Paris establishments. Has a hunting/ski lodge feel. The prices are right with the Prix Fix menu options and the tap beer was great. I had the beef with wine sauce, which was a very tasty and tender form of beef stew. The Baked French Onion soup was great. Waiter was friendly and helpful.
