Ça fait plusieurs fois que je suis venue, c’est toujours aussi Bön. (Fan de leur foie gras avec le pinot gris.)
Mais cette fois-​ci, j’ai dégusté le menu midi.
Entré+plat ou plat+ dessert pour 16 €
Et entré + plat + dessert c’est –20 € si je me rappel bien.

If you want good food at a reasonable price, you have to try this place.
First of all the atmosphere is amazing. It’s a very small place that can’t fit that many people so I highly recommend getting a reservation. It’s a cozy and very inviting atmosphere that’s anything but low end.
The menu was small and to the point. The waiter could easily translate it so we knew exactly what we were getting.
For my appetizer I had the chestnut soup. It was incredible. The texture and thickness were spot on. Very flavorful and a dish that I highly recommend.
My main was a chateaubriand. It was tasty, but, not as good as the appetizer was. The sauce
blended perfectly with the taste of the meat and made it very tasty.
All in all it was a spectacular restaurant, I would recommend going here if you want a truly authentic experience.

Everything about Le Chemise is superb; the food, the service, the ambiance. A definite must if you are in the République area.

Accueil téléphonique et sur place super sympa! Le serveur était aux petits soins, le cadre très joli. Nous étions placés au fond du resto, super cosy pour un repas en amoureux.
Nous avons très bien mangé: joue de bœuf pour Monsieur et Chateaubriand pour moi: excellent. Le vin était également très bon.
Petit bémol pour le café gourmand un peu pauvre et pour le manqué d’ambiance générale mais nous étions une veille de jour férié et la musique était très cool donc on leur pardonne :)

Went here for my girlfriend’s birthday and had an outstanding meal. The escargot was amazing and the waiter was kind and extremely knowledgeable. I strongly doubt I could find a better filet du boueff for the price in Paris…

accueil au top, assiette au top, les prix sont dans la moyenne de paris, mais le contenu de l’assiette est vraiment sympa. Peut être un dessert qui n’est pas à la hauteur du reste, mais ca reste très bien.

I’d agree with the other reviewers that the service is attentive and friendly. The host/​server is bilingual and will helpfully translate the menu.
Both my husband and I ordered the Chateaubriand which was an excellent and excellently cooked piece of meat. However, I did not find the dishes in general to be particularly memorable or innovative.
It’s a solid place to get french food if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t classify it as unmissable. Given the prices, I’d try to go for lunch to justify the cost.

This was our favorite meal in Paris. We booked a reservation on Unilocal reviews alone and we were not disappointed. The place is small and intimate, with an accommodating and friendly staff. The food was delicious. For starters we had the fresh white asparagus and the prawn entrees which were flavorful and interesting. For the main I had grilled tuna, prepared perfectly rare and my husband had the chateaubriand which was a generous portion. He raved about the flavor! I would highly recommend Le Chemise, give it a try!

Un bon petit restau mené par une équipe jeune et dynamique.
J’ai longuement hésité entre «pas mal» (3 étoiles) et «yes je suis fan!» (4 étoiles) en raison de quelques balbutiements dans les assiettes (pourquoi «tartiner”/“décorer» l’assiette de l’entrée avec du vinaigre balsmique se mariant mal avec le reste? pourquoi servir deux énormes filets de turbo, on est pas des ogres?! Parfois il vaut mieux aller à l’essentiel!).
Enfin, je fais ma fine bouche mais j’y ai quand même passé une super soirée et ai très bien mangé !

This restaurant exemplifies why you want to have a short menu you know that to get good and authentic food. Alas even in France restaurants are known to cheat and not cook their food homemade. This one is definitely not one of them. I got the amazing steak and it was cooked to perfection as well as a side that came with it. This was a romantic dinner and my fiancée loved it. I highly recommend this place to any tourist wanting to get good food in Paris.

This is our favorite restaurant in Paris. The food is fresh and perfectly prepared. The owner/​server, Fabién, is handsome and charming. It is a wonderful place to enjoy with a date, or with a small group of 4.

Tout d’abord, le premier contact par téléphone pour la réservation d’une table a été très agréable. La personne que j’ai eue était souriante (ça se sentait même au téléphone) et flexible.
Bien située dans une petite rue proche de la place de la République, l’endroit est très joli, moderne, avec des lumières un peu tamisée.
Lorsque nous sommes arrivés nous avons été très bien accueillis, avec le sourire et la bonne humeur du personnel. Nous étions installés confortablement en restant dans l’intimité pas trop proche des autres tables, ce n’était pas trop bruyant. On nous emmèné rapidement la petite carte, pas très fournie mais avec des belles recettes qui donnent envie ! Nous choisissons un vin pour accompagner le tout qui nous a plu au passage.
En entrée, je commence par les escargots, miam, pas mal du tout, la persillade était bien dosée et équilibrée.
Je poursuis avec le Parmentier de canard, succulent, la viande avait beaucoup de saveur et la purée bien préparée.
Et vient le dessert, le fondant au chocolat (bien fondant) avec sa glacé vanille.
Nous avons été très satisfait du service, de la qualité des plats et du vin pour un prix tout à fait correct quand on sait que le chef Lacaze est aux commandes !
Allez faire un tour, vous né serez pas déçus !

Alors moi je n’ai pas vu ce «néo-​bistrot» dont parle pas mal de Unilocaleurs ici (d’où l’étoile en moins, le decalage entre ce qu’on attend et le résultat) mais j’ai quand meme très bien mangé !
Le Chemise est un joli resto — attention à né pas déraper lounge avec la musique ! — un service aux petits soins et qui présente une super formule midi: E-​P ou P-​D 16 euros, et E-​P-​D 20 euros, avec deux choix seulement pour l’entrée et le plat — choix limité mais qui conforte dans l’idée que tout devrait etre frais.
Le tartare saumon gravelax, crème avocat avec le petit kick au wasabi de mon amie était très bon, frais et j’ai aimé la vinaigrette sucrée de la salade; de mon coté j’ai eu un énorme os à moelle gratiné, bon avec sa fleur de sel mais écoeurant comme il se doit pour une personne :)
Niveau plat, c’était bon et à la présentation très simple: supreme de poulet très moelleux et un risotto cremeux; et curry rouge de gambas dans une petite marmite et riz basmati dans une autre assiette. Rien d’autre, aucun autre accompagnement ou petite «déco» dans l’assiette d’où mon étonnement pour la qualification de neo-​bistrot.
Très bon qualité prix.

Came here after reading plenty of amazing reviews on Unilocal and TripAdivsor. It was our last stop before heading to Italy, and I’m glad we made it!
We were here for lunch on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t crowded at all. Neither my friend nor I spoke French so one of the servers kindly translated everything on the menu (without even asking!!).
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality. Must go again for dinner.

L’ambiance du restaurant est feutrée et calme. L’accueil est agréable et souriant. Le serveur vous met à l’aise dès votre arrivé. Service impeccable.
C’est une bulle agréable et calme au coeur d’un quartier plutôt populaire et mouvementé.
Côté cuisine, c’est excellent. Je né trouve rien à redire.

Amazing! The food here is definitely top of its class. I had 3 starters. All amazing ended up ordering another starter because I was curious about the other dishes. Got filet entrée. Amazing.
It’s a small place which is a bit far from center city but well worth the über ride. The food is just amazing. Service is really friendly and very fast as it is a small place, almost the size of an apartment of 700sq ft. Ambience is very chill and light.
The only down side is the 3 types of wine and I like wine so. It kind of bothered me a bit but the food out weighed the wine selection.
I had too much food because it was amazing!!! Great place to have a nice calm dinner with hosts that care about you and their establishment.

L’accueil est agréable, le lieu est confortable et chaleureux, un mur en grosse brique et des canapés parfaits pour se sentir bien sans s’avachir et en plus on s’entend parler pour changer !
Impossible de se mettre d’accord sur le choix du vin, le maître des lieux nous fait déguster quelques vins afin de choisir, c’est d’un avis commun qu’un Bourgogne Chardonnay allait partager notre table.
Au niveau de la carte, difficile de faire un choix, tout donne envie et les prix semblent raisonnables. Les festivités commencent avec d’une part des cuisses de grenouilles fines, délicates à l’assaisonnement bien équilibré et d’autre part un tartare de bar onctueux, savoureux avec une brunoise de pomme et coriandre. J’en aurais bien repris un peu plus de ce bar !
Assez rapidement suivent les ris d’agneau sur purée à la truffe noire et la canette rosée sur purée de patate douce et beurre d’orange. Les deux plats sont délicieux, des plats réconforts bien exécutés. Des ris un rien plus laqués, plus caramélisés pour donner du croustillant auraient faits merveille. Des petits légumes supplémentaires auraient été pas mal non plus mais bon, ça nous laisse de la place pour poursuivre nos découvertes gastronomiques. Un régal avec un petit goût de trop peu… et on enchaine donc avec les ravioles de gambas au consommé de curry rouge… Plus léger qu’un curry coco, la base reste celle d’une sauce classique au fumet de poisson et ça rend ça merveilleux même avec du pain. Il reste un petit creux et on termine la phase salée avec un saumon gravelax mi-​cuit sur purée aux herbes, fondant à souhait et rose à cœur.
La note sucrée de fin sera celle de la brioche perdue, confiture de lait et glacé au caramel beurre salé. La glacé avait plutôt un goût de caramel trop cuit mais pas mal. Le Chemise est définitivement une des bonnes tables de Paris, un peu plus dans l’assiette et ce serait la perfection !

This place is very nice with reasonable prices. For those of you drooling over customer photos, be warned that the menu changes, so if you see someone raving about a particular dish here, you might not have it as an option when you arrive. A lot of the things people shared here sounded lovely, but with the exception of the chateaubriand and foie gras, I didn’t see most of them when we got there. You could probably call ahead or look online to see. I didn’t think to ask when I made a reservation.
The chateaubriand was excellent — cooked perfectly, tender, and flavorful. If there is any kind of steak when you go, I would definitely order it. I almost gave the restaurant five stars instead of four for that alone.
Why the four stars? We had frog legs, which were bland. The sauce they came in was quite nice, but there wasn’t enough of it to cover up the lack of flavor.
The service was great. They also didn’t balk at the fact that we only ordered one first course and one main course that both of us shared (we are trying to eat lighter meals/​less food at dinner time — we would have gone there for lunch if our plans had allowed). Usually that is kind of frowned upon in France, but the waiter (manager? owner?) at Le Chemise was totally cool with it.
The décor was modern, simple, yet romantic.
I would definitely go back if I were in the neighborhood.

What can I say about this modern, yet charming place?! Just thinking about it brings me heartwarming feelings and deep sighs about the escargot, the cheesecake (and I hate American cheesecake), the fish, wine, and the service. Every moment of this place was a dream that I wish to relive every night!
We made a reservation, which we had to push back twice… let’s be honest: that is ANNOYING! However, the manager (I think) Fabien, was so kind and amenable via email and then over the phone as we made changes. He served us when we arrived and made so many suggestions and put up with our American nonsense in the most charming way. The food had all the best things of Paris: incredible ingredients to start, classic preparations, impeccable presentation with modern sensibilities, and surprising, delightful flavor.
I would come to Le Chemise again and again, as well as recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.

Le Chemise more like le rêve. This is the type of spot where you wish Unilocal allowed more stars… like 5 more. Everything about Le Chemise c’est parfait. I almost don’t want people to know about this perfect slice of Paris, for fear I won’t get back in when we’re next in town… for my fellow Unilocalers, I’ll take the risk,
Here’s the top 5 reasons why you need to venture to Le Chemise next you’re in Paris:
1– The food. Oh the food. We started with escargot, foie gras, and ravioli in a curry sauce. Holy snaps the ravioli… oh the ravioli. It’s perfect. The escargot was delightful. We moved on to the steak, and fish… and more perfectly situated plates of food… AND THE DESSERT!!! AHHHHH! It was perfect.
2– The ambience. From the exposed stone wall and perfectly placed tables. It’s a place you want to stay and visit, and eat… and drink all night long!
3– The wine. We had perfect pairings all night. We started with champagne, moved to a red, and then finished with a truly glorious pinot gris. It was so sweet, so crisp, and so perfect for the cheesecake.
4– And since we’re talking about cheesecake. This cheesecake needs another name. It’s Parisian style and is nooooothing like NY style cheesecake. It’s light and smooth and gorgeous.
5. Fabian… which is shorthand for the service. It was perfect. He was perfect. Honestly, it was glorious. They were so kind to us… from the start that we made the reservation to the time we had to change it…2x, they were so kind and hospitable. Once we arrived, they made excellent recommendations, treated us so well, and made us never want to leave.
I cannot wait to come back to Paris and come back to Le Chemise!

I came here because of the reviews I saw on Unilocal.My hotel was a 7 min walk to the restaurant. Tucked away on a little side street, I was instantly greeted by a friendly man who quickly picked up that I don’t speak French. Was able to get a table right away. Was offered a menu by a very nice lady who offered to translate it if I couldn’t read it. Luckily I had checked it outline before coming so I knew what I wanted. I ordered the chateaubriand. It was fantastic. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had. It melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were superb. Buttery and rich.
I hadn’t planned on getting desert but the food was so good and since I was on vacation, I decided I would. Since I hadn’t planned it, that I DID need translated and explained. I ordered the «french toast» desert. Basically it was the greatest desert I’ve ever had.
This was a meal that, after I had finished it, I had to text my husband and apologize for the experience I just had. It felt like I had cheated. It was divine.
I have two more full days in Paris and wouldn’t be opposed to coming back both nights for dinner.
If you are in Paris, do yourself a favor and eat here. I can only imagine the other food is just as spectacular.

Can’t disagree with the solid five star rating here — Le Chemise was five star food with five star service.
The foie gras appetizer we ordered was easily the best foie gras I have ever eaten. I practically licked the plate clean it was so good! Also quite exceptional was the «shrimp ravioli» starter that showed up steeped in a coconut curry sauce. Hardly French but definitely delicious!
For the main, my dining companion and I split the chateaubriand (which we were informed coming in was a specialty) — it did not disappoint, but I would still probably rank the appetizers above them personally.
Wine (about 5 – 7 euros a glass) was well chosen and generously poured. The server gave us a tasting of everything he recommended.
Finally, dessert: classic French style chocolate lava cake served with perhaps the best vanilla bean ice cream I’ve ever had.

We stumbled upon Le Chemise last weekend… and what a find it was! The warm and cozy atmosphere and friendly/​English speaking staff made our family of 4 (Ex-​Pats who just moved to Paris) feel immediately welcome. Then came the wine and apps. The tuna with wasabi and avocado purée was sublime. But let’s not forget the star attraction: the Chateaubriand. It simply melted in your mouth and was incredibly flavorful. Not a trace of fat in sight and easily the best steak you will find in Paris! We shared a brioche «French toast» type dessert and some cheesecake. Both were delicious and a great way to end the meal. There was also a funky blue champagne drink that we were too full to try by the time we saw it come out to another table. We will definitely be back!

Un restaurant lounge à République? Ca sentait un peu le défi dans ce quartier plutôt réputé pour ses bars. J’aime les défis.
Introducing Le Chemise, un restaurant tout en mur de pierres blanches apparentes et un parquet en large lattes sur lequel de larges fauteuils beiges terminent de construire une atmosphère aussi néo-​rustique qu’intimiste.
Au cuisine officie Cédric Lacaze, une jeune chef qui a fait ses armes à la Tour d’Argent entre autres. Sa carte change régulièrement au fil des saisons et propose un choix restreint de classiques qui sont revisités avec une petite touché d’exotisme.
Ce soir-​là, un très tentant suprême de poulet se fait sélectionner à l’unanimité pour la promesse de son risotto crémeux: morceau de blanc de poulet ultra noble cuit parfaitement et risotto tellement délicieux qu’on serait presque tenté de le demander en dessert une deuxième fois.
Pour terminer, je teste le financier citron vert et sa glacé framboise. Le financier est servi encore chaud, son citron vert se marie parfaitement avec la framboise: petit nuage.
En plus de toute cette perfection, l’accueil est très chaleureux, de la réservation où on vous demande votre prénom jusqu’au service très efficace et discret.
Un gros coup de coeur pour ce projet qui mérite largement que vous preniez le temps d’un détour pour une soirée décontractée même si République n’est pas votre quartier favori.

A République, Le Chemise vous accueille dans un cadre convivial et détendu pour goûter les plats de Chef Lacaze (ex Goupil, Tour d’Argent). Le lieu est cosy sans trop de chichis, la déco laisse la part belle aux matériau noble (vieille pierre notamment), c’est très agréable.
Le service est rapide et souriant, les serveurs sont aux petits soins, c’est vraiment appréciable !
Au menu, j’ai opté pour un suprême de poulet et son risotto crémeux: cuissons maitrisés, goûts bien balancés et risotto vraiment mais vraiment bon.
En dessert, une palette de glacé et sorbet maison, parfait pour finir sur une note sucrée.
Une adresse que je vous recommande à République, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés mais pensez bien à réserver.

Des plats signés Cédric Lacaze (un ancien de la Tour d’Argent), des fauteuils en cuir beige, une ambiance classe-juste-ce-qu’il-faut et décontract’ à la fois, un accueil fort sympathique et une formule midi des plus alléchantes…
EP ou PD =15 €; EPD = 19 €. Avec un choix de trois items pour chaque.
Crème de petit pois, canette et carottes ou cabillaud curry rouge, crème brûlée = tout était très bon. Possibilité de commander des vins au verre. Les plats à la carte doivent être bien fameux (compter env. 25 € le plat).
Un seul regret, l’arrivée du dessert qui a traîné (pas cool le midi en semaine), dommage car le timing des deux premiers plats était parfait.

Le Chemise is simply incredible. My wife and I are vacationing in Paris and Le Chemise, luckily, is located on the opposite side of our hotel, Hotel Gabriel.
We kind of spoiled ourselves our first night in town by eating here. We saw that it had a 5 star rating on Unilocal and decided to try it out. Nothing we had the rest of the trip compared… until we cam back our second to last night.
I had the Chateaubriand the first night, which might have been the best beef I have ever had! Don’t take that comment lightly; I am from Kansas City, home of the KC strip; the best BBQ in America, an cattle country. We loved it so much, we came back again so that we could have great memories of Paris.
Highly recommend. If I could rate it 6 stars, I would.

Im Vorfeld unseres Paristrips haben wir so einige Portale durchstöbert um zu schauen, wo es sich lohnen würde abends essen zu gehen. Dabei sind wir auch auf das Le Chemise gestoßen. Von außen eher unscheinbar, innen sehr cool eingerichtet. Scheint momentan ein Trend der jüngeren Pariser Gastronomen zu sein, aber das nur so am Rande. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und mit einer gewissen typ. frz. Lockerheit. Die Speisekarte überfordert nicht, es ist aber für jeden etwas dabei. Wir hatten Foi Gras sowie mit Speck ummantelten grünen Spargel als Vorspeise: gut. Das in miso-​Teig ummantelte Schweinefilet war sehr lecker. Ein Traum war das Schokoküchlein (Mi-​cuit) zum Dessert. Preise gehoben, aber wir sprechen hier von Paris und das Essen war das Geld allemal Wert.

une belle surprise ! cuisine traditionnelle francaise, les incontournables sont tous tres reussis (foie gras à tomber, viandes super tendres!)belle carte des vins et prix super corrects. le cadre est tres tres beau, chic et appaisant en meme temps. une revelation !

Une révélation ce resto !!! Ambiance très sympa, déco chic, accueil chaleureux et simple, et alors le repas était juste à tomber par terre. De l’entrée au dessert, j’ai tout aimé ! On avait commandé un excellent vin conseillé par le serveur, c’était juste excellent. J’y retournerais bientôt, allez y ça vaut le coup. Pour une fois je n’ai RIEN à reprocher à un resto !!
