This is a rather unassuming restaurant not far from the Bastille. For the area and the quality of the food, it is very reasonably priced. As many other reviews have noted, the Duck Comfit is the house signature dish and most of our party ordered it. It was, indeed, spectacular! I tried their special of the day, which included a very nice vegetable soup and a really lovely cut of grilled flank(or skirt) steak with an out-of-this-world tarragon sauce. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and spoke decent English. All in all, a lovely, relaxing dining experience!

Very good food, in a small, relaxed setting. We had the Fondant de chou flour, the duck, and the rabbit. For desert, a very tasty pie: «Croustade ariégeoise aux pommes et pruneaux».

A gem hidden in a dead end street off the back side of Place des Vosges. Friendly and helpful staff, great service. White asparagus, terrine, lamb, beefsteak. Everything was superb. Crème brûlée with saffron and pears a beauty to die for. Fairly priced for the quality and quantity you get. We made a fairly long trek from Sacre Couer area and was well worth it.

So, it’s my 1400th Unilocal review. Time to write about an unpretentious restaurant in the 4th, just a stone’s throw from Place des Vosges. Lunch for two with wine and with coffee but without dessert rang up around 80 euros, so this is definitely not on the«saver» side of things, but I think it’s quite reasonably priced for the food quality, service, location, and ambiance. I had a delicious leek and fish appetizer and my friend had a pâté of mushrooms, cheese, and other deliciousness(I’ll upload some photos for you to see). My main was rice blackened with squid ink topped with lightly sauteed calamari. The portion size, as is usual in France, was perfect. The restaurant itself is lovely and well lit and with about 30 diners it has a low hum that might occasionally be interrupted by a loud American(is there another kind of loud?) laugh. Perfect for simply taking the day in. It happened to be sunny too and that made the restaurant light that much better.

Had a wonderful dinner. Terrine was exceptional. Duck confit was absolutely delicious. We had espresso and each got dessert, crème brûlée(interestingly done with saffron), and the apple and plum tart. Everything was absolutely fantastic! Food, service, atmosphere.

This restaurant was very peaceful and lovely. Staff was helpful and spoke English. Food was great, but the reason I gave only four out of five, was that I found the flavours too simple compared to other Parisian restaurants. Rabbit with mashed potatoes tasted like something my grandmom could prepare. The staff made few jokes about me, drinking coke instead of wine, but it was great to know that French people have a sense of humor as well.

This is a little gem hidden in nice dead end. Everything we had was amazing. It is very surprising it does not have more reviews yet. Highly recommended Fred

There is a special place in my heart for Le Gorille Blanc. This was our second time here. We sat out on the sidewalk and one of the great things about this place is that it’s on a side street away from foot traffic. But if you are one of those«American tourists» that has to been seen, please go somewhere else. Friendly and funny staff this evening! We both ordered the beouf which came with a peppercorn sauce and sauteed vegetables with parsley. We also had a great bottle of Cote du Rhone, and finished our meal with the chocolate mousse and the lavender crème brûlée. Yes, lavender, and I would’ve had another if I wasn’t full. Merci encore Le Gorille Blance! Je un toujours en amour avec vous!

Superb dining! Le Gorille Blanc combines excellent service and dining in an unpretentious, comfortable and warm environment. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and patient with our mediocre French. Dishes of note were the terrine and crispy fried duck — both were out of this world. Great wine selection and very reasonably priced; highly recommended.

Last September I visited Paris with my family and we were staying in arrondisement 4 close to Pl de Vosges. The day of our arrival we went to Le Gorille Blanc by suggestion of our landlord. It was the best way to initiate our stay in this gorgeous city. The food was absolutely awesome and the service outstanding. After a few days I went back with my granddaughter and it was the same gourmet experience. Nothing failed! Next month I´ll be in Paris again and my plans are to eat there at least twice! so I am looking forward to eat a trully french food. Marisela Bonett-Serra VENEZUELA

This place is amazing. The food is fabulous and the staff are friendly. I had the duck and potatoes. I can tell you I have never had better duck in my life. The breading was amazing and the meat was super juicy and flavorful. The crème brûlée was an amazing finale to an amazing meal and overall experience. I must return here when I am in Paris again!

Bonne ambiance Restaurant fiable, qualité constante, ambiance«internationale», parfois un peu bruyante, vins de qualités et mets toujours très bons. Service attentif et discret. J’y retournerai.

After a week of only okay food in Paris, finally a place to write home about. Lovely food, beautifully presented and not at all pretentious. I arrived early, on my own, without a reservation. I was seated promptly and without question. The servers(I believe one is the owner) speak English, but were patient with me as I used the opportunity to ask questions and order in French. They were helpful with information on the menu, and made good suggestions when I asked about the food and wine. I had the ‘fondant de petit pois’ appetizer(pureed peas with baby arugula). I’m not typically a fan of peas, but this was very good. For an entrée I took their suggestion and ordered the rabbit — it was moist and tender, with a delicious sauce. For desert I had crème brûlée. The table next to mine ordered berries with crème anglaise, and liked it so much they ordered another; I’ll try that next time.
