Ditto all the previous good reviews. Contrary to the posted info they do serve distilled spirits. Like everywhere in France, order steak with low expectations.

Amazing everything. love the 3 course meal selection. foisgra, beef bouginion and amazing crème brûlée. What did it was the friendly service. so un-French of then to be friendly and want to please the customer. This place rocks. A MUST!

Delicious wine, salmon and crime brûlée. Not overly crowded, and efficient waitstaff. What more can you ask for?

This is truly a hidden gem in Paris. The wait staff was so welcoming and accommodating. This small restaurant has outstanding classic French cuisine. My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and felt like we checked off a bucket list item with this meal. Bön appetite!

One of the best neighborhood restaurants in the area. I had maigret de canard and my wife had boef bourguignon. Both very delicious and very authentic, very far from the touristic menu you can find below Saint-Germaine Boulevard. We had a bottle of Bourgogne and it was great. We finished with the profiteroles, home-made and to die for. I saw at a table next to us they ordered limoncello, also home made and the neighbors said it was great(and they were returning customers).

Awesome food! The place is very small like a lot of a French restaraunt. The servers were nice. The food was traditional and good. Good portion too. We took the $ 35 euro set that include an appetizer, a main dish, and dessert. So much food… and very good! Highly recommend it.

Had dinner at this delightful restaurant with my wife and three sons(4, 7, and 10) on our second to last night in Paris and couldn’t have been happier. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was patient and spoke excellent English, they accommodated our children without complaint, and the food was *brilliant*. The Bouef Bourguignon was the best we’ve had, and the Gigot D’agneau was excellent as well. Prices are reasonable. A fantastic primer in French cuisine for any palette in a charming and warm setting!

This place is seriously adorable. We ate here our first night in Paris and couldn’t have been happier. First of all, it’s as charming as can be in the looks department — warm and cozy and everything you’d expect from a Parisian restaurant. Service is excellent and the food is superb. I only wish it had not been so hot outside so I could have really dug in to all their classic French dishes. We ordered from the formula — the set menu — starting with the brilliant saucisson(sausages) de Lyon in a mustard sauce for me and foie gras for the husband. Then it was on to the boeuf bourguignon for me and the seared calf for the husband. Sadly, I was already running out of steam by the time the boeuf bourguignon was laid in front of me. It was rich, but I had no chance of finishing it if I wanted to enjoy my profiteroles which I did. Husband got the apple tart which was delicious. Overall, this was a great introduction to French food for us. We loved that it was in our neighborhood and smiled every time we walked by.(Also, it is important to note that we came shortly after they opened at 7:30 p.m.- no reservation, no problem.)

The 1st time I’d gone to le Perraudin was over a decade ago, and it was a relatively unknown hole-in-the –wall that catered mainly to the students who lived around that area. It was one of the first sit-down restaurants I’d gone to in Paris, and as a student living on limited budget truly embracing la vie de bohème, I remember the excitement of discovering what seemed like the perfect embodiment of French cuisine and Parisian culture. Then, I began seeing the name in various guidebooks and quite a few travel magazine articles; nevertheless, having a fond memory of it, I decided to revisit le Perraudin during my last visit to Paris. Sad to say, this time, my experience wasn’t so memorable. It wasn’t just the mediocrity of the food that disappointed me, but the lack of effort that went into preparing it. It felt as if at some point, the owner had decided not to put a lot of effort in preparing their meals, relying on the fact that the majority of their patrons were tourists. I sat there looking at the overcooked gigot d’agneau and a slob of mess they called gratin de pommes de terre and wondered what had happened to the wonderful little restaurant I’d adored. The only redeeming quality was the service, which was courteous and quick(which is not necessarily a good thing); however, the warmth and the hospitality I’d experienced during my first visit were long gone … quel dommage! Also, I find it interesting that le Perraudin is the only restaurant in Paris without a single review written by Parisians nor in French.

My husband and I were on a crazy trip through Europe for one month back in late September, early October. Our first night in Paris it was pouring. we had reservations at some fancy, schmancy place. We were running around at night in the rain and passed this place. I had to eat here. It was sooo charming and everyone inside looked happy. We entered and were told there was no room. I was so sad and suddenly, another waiter ran to tell us to wait!!! They made room for us and were were elated. Our wine was fantastic and our meals, so delicious. The ambience was bustling but happy and fun. I would rate this a 10 if I could(and would love to be there right now!!!)

A table!

I spent two weeks in France, and this restaurant stands out as one of my best meals during my visit. I started with sauccissons de Lyon, which had a light mustard sauce. They were wonderful. Then I had probably the best beef bourguignon of my life; we had previously made Julia Child’s recipe, and this was quite similar. The addition of crumbled pan-friend bacon was great. Lastly we finished with the homemade profiteroles and an apple tart. The service was great — attentive. The ambience I loved — intimate, but not overcrowded. So many folks had recommended Chez Janou to us; this restaurants was at least 10X better! Worth going out of your way for this traditional family run french restaurant. I cannot remember cost, but I think for two menus and wine we probably got out of there for around 80e; not bad for such great food!
