Le Vin Qui Danse

Très belle table ! A l’image des autres Vin Qui Danse parisiens et de celui de Lille. Les produits sont frais et travaillés sur place. J’y vais avec plaisir le plus souvent possible !!

Le vin qui danse est un restaurant spécialisé dans les vins. La carte présentée est relativement réduite, mais sa particularité est que pour chaque mets on vous suggère un vin approprié, ce vin étant disponible au verre.
Il est également possible de prendre une bouteille «à la ficelle «, c’est à dire que si l’on né la termine pas, on payera en proportion de ce qui aura été bu.
Le service est très arrangeant, et ils n’ont pas hésité à changer une bouteille non bouchonnée mais que l’on avait jugée un peu trop jeune.

Tout d’abord le vin que j’ai pris, le chinon premier prix, trop bon ! En entrée, le saumon mariné n’était pas mauvais mais faut aimer le cru (on né savait pas), le Burger est une tuerie! Original avec des galettes de pomme de terre à la place du pain et des frites vraiment trop bonnes. Attention les salades sont moyennes je les déconseille

I liked the concept of this restaurant where they offer wine pairing options for each meal. It is Classic French food but very tasty. Too bad they do not have a lot of choice I the menu.

Le personnel est vraiment très agréable et à l’écoute.
La table excellente, avec des idées originales.
J’ai essayé le burger à la française avec la galette de pomme de terre!
De plus, la carte mentionne un vin ou alcool parfaitement adapté au plat choisi si jamais on hésite un peu!
Je tenterai la prochaine fois le menu œnologique qui semble très alléchant !
C’est vraiment agréable de trouver des petits restaurants authentique comme celui ci dans Paris!

I would absolutely recommend this resto! I love their smaller menu and wine pairings to go with each dish. Between the four of us we all had something we absolutely LOVED and couldn’t help but finish every last crumb. Great atmosphere and very nice waitstaff. English friendly as well as a hot spot for locals as well. Can’t wait to go back!

We walked past this restaurant several times while exploring the Latin Quarter and finally decided to give it a try one night. It was a great idea. We came, sans reservation, and were seated right away.
They speak very good English here — so good I didn’t even bother using my French. Husband had the sea bass and gave it a huge thumbs up. I am ashamed to admit that I ordered the French burger, but I’m not at all ashamed to admit that it was one of the best things I ate in Paris. Perfectly cooked, the burger came sandwiched between two hashbrown patties with a side of «burger sauce». It was so seriously delicious I’m thinking this is the way I’ll do burgers at home.
For dessert we both opted for the flaming crème brûlée — fantastic.
Tip: Trust the wine pairings suggested for each dish — they are spot on.

Four of us dined here for dinner. We would eat here again. Big plus was that we could easily reserve a table on line (in French).
AMBIENCE: 3.5. The painting on the ceiling was worth half a point. The place breathed patina.
SERVICE: 3.5. The young gentlemen running the place seemed to enjoy themselves. We appreciated the English menus and verbal explanations.
FOOD: 3.0. Three had cod, and one had lamb. All were satisfied and rated it a 3. Optional wine pairings were fine.

Un resto adapté aux déjeuners au calme
C’est la salle du fond que nous avons choisi pour ce midi. Un mur entier est dédié à la cave. L’ambiance est chaleureuse, mais la salle manqué de lumière. C’est l’ambiance cave à vin !
Le plat du jour, «Le hamburger français» dans lequel des galettes de pommes de terre encadrent un steak haché et un morceau de bleu. Petite salade avec sur le coté tomates et oignons. Le menu du midi propose l’option d’un verre de vin à choisir dans la cave.
Service correct et discret
Repas très agréable ou l’on né sent pas le temps passer. Rapport qualité prix correct

Arnaque
Le service et le cadre sont banals mais la cuisine est sans intérêt. Des titres pompeux pour un résultat pas digne d’un restaurant. Certes, c’est mangeable mais sans aucun intérêt. Le burger à la française est un steack haché tout rond et tout plat (peut être charal) entre deux galettes de pomme de terre non faites «maison». La cuillère de sauce ketchup/​mayo dans un petit ramequin et du «cantal» qui n’est qu’un vulgaire fromage fondu collé à la pomme de terre. Une pièce du boucher «angus» à point qui est une vulgaire entrecôte trop cuite. Né parlons même pas du vin qui est du simple vin de table, ni bon ni mauvais, servi avec arogance comme si c’était du grand vin. Je né m’attendais pas à quelque chose d’extraordinaire mais le résultat est médiocre.

Came here as my birthday treat after checking out Unilocal first. Where able to book an hour before going on a Saturday night which was good.
Its got quite a nice atmosphere and most people in here seemed to be Parisian, it’s not too touristy which by the 4^th day of trotting around, I was glad of. Lovely hand painted ceilings but nothing too fancy.
The staff were pleasant and spoke just enough English to pull me through the menu with my little French.
My companion and I decided to go for the mixed starter which consisted of a little pot of the teensiest mushroom ravioli in a cheese sauce, a salmon mousse, some foie gras and fruit compote and goats cheese in filo pastry.
Everything was ok, not wowing me, but let me make one thing clear. I’ve had a phobia of fish for YEARS. In my old age I’m trying to be more adventurous with things but have still never over-​come the fish thing. I bravely, gallantly even? Sampled the salmon mousse… It was quite nice! Not fishy at all and I loved the pickles through it. It was light and refreshing — a good choice if you’re having a heavy main. Ended up being my favourite of the starters! Woo! Go me. We also had the wine pairings which I liked but wasn’t sure if they quite got the pairings right…
For mains G went for the steak and I went for a beef, mashed pumpkin and red onion dish. Eww. Both mains, were dryer than a nuns… Erm they were dry. My pumpkin had no flavour and G’s steak was flavourless. Try and at least jush it up with a bit of jus or something! Such a shame. I also noticed that when the waitress took away the barley touched plates, she didn’t ask us if we had enjoyed our meal. I couldn’t be bothered to argue in broken French though. I’ve found this with a few places in Paris.
I then let myself have a crème brûlée as a birthday treat with a glass of fizz which did NOT work at all with the pud (as stated) but was quite nice on its own, if a little tarte but I generally prefer prosecco to champagne (‘cheap commoner’ I here you exclaim ;)). The pud was also disappointing. We left swiftly and € 150 lighter.
Overall, probably nice for a drink and a nibble but disappointing for a full blown meal.

Went here on the recommendation of some Paris locals who knew we adored wines and authentic French food. The name translates literally to «The wines that dance!» Home run!
On a quiet side street near Luxembourg Park, you could easily walk past the place if you weren’t actually looking for it. (In fact, we nearly did!) Once inside, maybe a dozen tables or so, but we were immediately greeted by who may well have been the friendliest person in France. His English was impeccable, but he was happy to flip back and forth to Franglish with our daughter.
Two of the three of us went with the Prix Fixe menu du jour, which on this day included dolphin ravioli (sounds scary, I know, but you have to stop thinking about the theme park dolphins and just go for it!), a terrific white fish, and a truly amazing tiramisu. Each course was paired with a wine of their recommendation, which given the menu, meant mostly whites. I will almost always go with red wine when given the choice, but the pairings were excellent and the wines were refreshing. The ravioli in a creamy white sauce was really the surprise hit of the evening. Wow!
My hunch is that this place doesn’t see a lot of tourist traffic, which would probably be a good reason NOT to post about it here. That said, we were so excited to dine someplace that was completely devoid of that tacky Paris touristy feel. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Found this on Unilocal because it was near where we were staying (short walking distance), great reviews, and we were tired the first night in Paris.
Well all I can say to the staff is «merci», for two simply wonderful meals at your great little restaurant. We booked-​ended our trip by dinning here the first night (al la cart) and last night (menu) that we were in Paris. The food, the service, the wine and location were perfect for the three of us (including my 8 year old daughter). We will return when we revisit Paris (and will happily recommend to others visiting).
I really enjoyed the digestive after the full dinner menu too, called Noyau de Poissy. .. can’t get this place out of my head!

Exceptionally good service in a casual yet cool environment. The music played the whole time was David Bowie and Lou Reed. I had cod with salad and mashed potatoes, the cod was rather bland. My friend had salmon which was quite good. We each had a glass of wine. The desserts looked good but we were to full to indulge! The staff was super friendly!
A nice cute place that is different then the many French joints in the area.
P. s. I am an American who speaks little French. They were very friendly and all spoke a bit of English.

Le vin qui danse, testé très rapidement, car il y avait spectacle après !Le restaurant est constitué de 2 salles reliées par un couloir passant près de la cuisine, la déco est chaleureuse tout comme l’accueil. Style brasserie, cosy, boisée.
Le personnel est accueillant, discret, efficace et à l’écoute.
Petits amuses bouche en accueil, une carte des mets et des vins qui mérite que l’on s’y attarde bien plus que ce que nous pouvions nous permettre ce soir là.
Bref, un très bon premier feeling, à refaire prochainement en prenant plus le temps.

En visite à Paris, nous nous sommes rendues à 3 dans ce restaurant, suite aux commentaires du site. Et nous avons bien fait, car nous n’avons pas été déçues. Le menu coup de coeur à 29 euros est d’un bon rapport qualité-​prix: velouté de champignons avec espuma aux chataignes excellent et de saison, puis hamburger de pommes de terre un peu gras, mais avec une viande délicieuse, et un tiramisu aux speculoos léger et pas trop sucré, bref un presque parfait pour l’ensemble. En tout cas, on sent l’amour du cuisto dans l’assiette. Le service est de très bon conseil, et très agréable. Le tout dans le quartier du Panthéon, très joli et au calme, avec une salle sans extravagance mais soignée, sur le thème du vin. Ce qui né gâche rien !

On my first day in Paris, I wanted to find a restaurant close to my hotel, Hôtel de la Sorbonne. With the help of Unilocal,I discovered Le Vin qui Danse by searching wine bars in 5ème, which was less than a 10 minute walk from La Sorbonne. My husband and I easily navigated to the restaurant by utilizing the map directions function on the Unilocal site. So easy! The door of the restaurant was propped open… a nice welcoming gesture that allowed for the cooling summer evening breeze to waft in. A young woman greeted us and offered us to pick any table since we were the first to arrive at 7:30pm. We didn’t have reservations but at that ‘early hour’, it was not an issue to get a table. However, the restaurant does take reservations and you can even book online which I would recommend if you plan to dine later since the small restaurant was full at 9 pm when we left.
Upon our greeting, the waitress instantly identified we were American and asked if we wanted menus in English. Oui, s’il vous plaît. The waitress arrived at our table with a large format wine bottle, I would guess it was a Salamanzar (9 L) or a Balthzar (12 L), with the list of wines adhered to the bottle. Very cool presentation! 100% French wines as one would expect. Well, it was our first night in Paris and our 20^th anniversary so we ordered the Champagne that was on special that evening. It was delightful, very light and bright with low minerality. It was a perfect way to begin our meal and our vacation. Le Vin qui Danse has a 3 course pre-​fix menu for 27 euros; however, I was going to pass out after dinner so I wanted a lighter meal. My husband and I shared an appetizer, ravioli in pesto cream sauce. The ravioli was served with lettuce greens on top with orange shavings, which we initially thought the orange colored garnish was carrot. However, to our surprise the orange shavings were cheddar cheese. The sharp tanginess of the cheddar added a wonderful dimension to the rich creamy pesto sauce. For my entrée, I had salmon with eggplant purée and a roasted red pepper sauce. The salmon was a thick filet that was pan fried with a crispy skin and moist interior. The red pepper sauce added a lot of flavor to the mild eggplant and salmon. My husband ordered shrimp risotto. The shrimp were small but tasty and the risotto was absolutely lovely, so tender and savory and creamy, that melted in your mouth. Before our entrees were served, the waitress asked if we wanted a glass of wine to accompany our main dishes. After perusing the wine list, we decided to defer since we were not familiar with the wines and asked her to select a wine to pair with our meals. She brought a bottle of white wine and said we could taste it and if we enjoyed it we could have a glass otherwise she would have us taste another wine. No pressure and completely unpretentious. Well, the white wine was from Loire Valley. We got very excited because after our visit to Paris we were spending 5 days in Loire Valley touring castles and tasting wine. The wine paired exceptionally well with Andy’s creamy risotto. Our waitress was very nice making us feel relaxed and comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our first dinner in Paris at this cozy little wine bar.

Le restaurant est marrant le service aussi mais j’ai trouvé ça un peu fade tout de même en tout cas j’ai passé une excellente soirée.

This came with a recommendation from a Parisian friend, and the Unilocal reviews were complimentary.
I called the restaurant to make reservations, but always got the machine. I ended up sending an email, and that was more prompt. I booked a table for the following day at 20h, and the response was quick.
It was a 20 minute walk from our hotel in Montparnasse to the restaurant, close to Jardin de Luxembourg. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly host, letting us sit wherever we wanted. We chose the window and were given the menus, along with an amuse bouche. We opted for the fixed menu with wine pairings. I’ve posted pictures of all the wines and the plates: mushrooms for our starter (delicious), then duck breast with a purée (amazing), and tiramisu for dessert (fantastic). They served decaf coffee at the end, and gave us the bill. Hmmm? I was accustomed to asking for the bill when I was ready, but perhaps she realized that we were Americans. So much the old saying: When in Rome, do as the Romans.
Thanks to my friend Raphael for the wonderful recommendation. I would definitely return to Vin qui Danse.

Petite virée entre amis; avec transports en commun obligatoire. Ce caviste est un génie et prend le temps de vous écouter pour que votre choix; vous comble entiérement .

Très déçu…
Une soirée un peu gachée, car je m’attendais à bcp mieux… j’ai été très deçu de ce restaurant… cadre sympa, accueil agréable… mais le reste né suit pas… peu de plat sur la carte… les prix né sont pas abordables, si la qualité des plats le valait encore: pommes de terre pas cuites, salade pas fraîche… les desserts sont bons, mais il faut aimer les glaçons: dans mon guacamole d’avocat, de la glacé au fond, ce n’est pas forcement agréables de tomber sur des petits glaçons… Mon ami était déçu de même, car on né peut goûter ts les vins… et pr finir, au moment de payer, on nous annonce que la cb né fonctionne pas… c’est tard et pas commerçant ! C’est dommage, ce restaurant né tiens pas ces promesses (site internet), bref je né recommande pas… !

This is a charming Hole in the wall (not a dive hole, but literrally a very small place that can be missed if you aren’t looking closely) restaurant is close by the Pantheon and the Gardens of Luxembourg. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It would be helpful to make reservations. However we walked in at an early time of 730 and were able to get a seat. But by 830, the restaurant was packed and they were turning people away.
The restaurant is a wine bar and restaurant. But this description is misleading in the fact that the food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. The previous night we had a very fancy French dinner that was considered by the concierge of the hotel to be one of the better restaurants in Paris. This restaurant compared to that and was even more intimate.
The restaurant is divided into two small rooms of 20 people each. The front room has a bar and then a very very small kitchen. However the food that is made in that small kitchen is absolutely delicious.
I had a ravioli as a starter that was very small raviolis in a basil sauce. The dish was wonderful.
I also had as a main course sea bass. This was a fillet. It was cooked in a type of soy sauce with vegetables. It was very good in a salty way. I recommended it to the people who sat next To us and all four of them loved it also.
My wife had steak and fries. It sounds generic and it also sounds like Americans should know steak really well. We were proven wrong again when the French outdid the Americans in creating steak and fries.
Finally we had a dessert of pineapples with sorbet which was wonderful to the taste and had a slight hint of mint.
Oh by the way, Did I tell you that the dining experience with wine pairings for all three courses only cost 80 euros. A bargain.
The food was excellent. However, what was even more amazing was the fact that there was one server for the approximately 20 people. She was very responsive to everybody’s needs despite the fact that she was very busy serving all those customers.
We made an attempt to speak to her in French and she was very responsive and friendly to us. At the end of the evening she gave us a complimentary glass of port.
If you have a night in Paris and you want a romantic night. This restaurant certainly will meet that criteria.

J’ai juste regretté un service un peu lent au début (les serveuses étaient visiblement débordées, bien que souriantes et serviables), et des prix peut-​être un tout petit peu trop élevés.
Ceci dit les plats sont très bien préparés, vraiment bons, et on né peut rien redire sur la qualité des produits et des vins.
J’ai lu ici où là que le lieu pouvait être propice à un dîner en amoureux, il n’en est rien pour moi: on est assez collés les uns aux autres, il y a pas mal de groupes d’amis (dont certains très bruyants), bref, intimité pas loin de 0 Dommage car effectivement la déco et les plats se prêtent à priori aux dîners romantiques.

Rien que de part les quelques vins que j’ai pu déguster à trop petite dose (pensons, tous ensemble, à modération, cette étrange invité commun avec qui il faut boire !), je suis enivré !
Je n’ai pas eu la chance de goûter la cuisine, mais je retiens cette adresse avec empressement, pour redécouvrir et réapprécier, ces fabuleuses saveurs.

Découvert lors de la QYPE summer party, ce fournisseur de vins qui dancent a de quoi plaire.
En dehors des vins (qui étaient ma fois fort sympathiques) la disponibilité dont a fait preuve ce commerçant pendant la soirée était des plus agréable.
Pas avare d’explications et conseils, on a vraiment envie d’aller voir par de plus près dans l’une des 3 adresses que comporte la capitale.

Moi qui adore le Moelleux, j’ai adoré ce petit vin qui m’a été proposé !
Du savoir faire de la part des gérants qui nous ont bien expliqué les caractéristiques de chaque vin et du champagne rosé !
Et pour couronner ce bel avis, le Vin Qui Danse a aussi une adresse à Lille ! Pas de souci, dès la rentrée, je vais tester !

Excellents vins ! J’ai adoré «La Folie Rose», un rosé pétillant qui rivalise avec de très bons Lambrusco italiens, dont le Vin qui Danse a l’exclusivité sur Paris !
Je recommande vivement leurs restaurants aux amateurs de vins jeunes et rafraîchissants.

Ayant eu l’occasion, que dis-​je, le privilège, d’assister au Before VIP de la Qype Summer Party 2011 (
), j’ai enfin fait la connaissance du Vin qui Danse.
Un resto bar à vins que je voulais essayer depuis longtemps car il met à l’honneur le bon accord mets et vins.
Lors du cocktail qui précédait la Qype Summer Party, le Vin qui Danse a offert une dégustation, et j’ai pu gouter un Gamay rosé effervescent, un peu trop sucré pour moi mais original, puis un Bergerac blanc tout à fait à mon goût.
J’ai particulièrement apprécié le fait qu’on né vous serve pas simplement un verre, mais qu’on vous explique ce que vous buvez !
Cher Vin qui Danse, est-​ce que je peux me permettre une suggestion? Pourriez-​vous, lors du prochain concours organisé par Qype, mettre en jeu un diner ou un brunch dans votre établissement ?
Et cher Qype, pourriez-​vous, dans ce cas, faire en sorte que ce soit MOI qui gagne ce beau cadeau ?
Promis, si je gagne, je ferai un avis digne des plus grands ! Mais tout en restant factuel et honnête, bien entendu !

Super resto! Très bonne cuisine. Accueil chaleureux. Menu oenologique à conseiller!

Petite soirée en semaine entre amis au mois d’août dans une capitale désertée. quel bonheur ! A l’ombré du Panthéon, on déguste ici de petits vins de vignerons sympathiques en mangeant une cuisine de bistrot de qualité (à goûter l’agneau et sa purée de patates douces !) et en succombant au sourire et au charme des hôtesses de ce lieu ! … et si vous n’êtes pas plongés dans le regard de Sylvia, admirez alors la superbe fresque peinte au plafond… Bref… un petit brin de paradis à suivre…

Près du Panthéon, Le Vin Qui Danse vous offre la possibilité de partir à la rencontre de plus de cent vins français sélectionnés pour leurs saveurs et leurs originalités.
J’ai aimé le menu du sommelier qui propose un verre de vin avec chaque plat. A part un Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2007 un peu jeune, les 5 autres vins goûtés sont passés comme une lettre à la poste (mention spéciale pour le Santenay 2004 et le Cotes de Castillon 2003,…)
Et pour accompagner les vins en fête, le chef Thibault Kapeluche, ancien du Restaurant le Meurice, a choisi d’ajouter une touché d’originalité et de fraîcheur aux meilleurs plats de la cuisine traditionnelle française…
