Le Petit Marché

Dans cette petite rue calme du centre de Paris, se cache Le Petit Marché.
Un restaurant parisien comme il y en a des centaines dans la capitale.
Lorsqu’on regarde la carte, on voit assez rapidement que LPM propose plus que du simple onglet ou un petit gratin.
«Fusion» (le terme est peut être surévalué) entre une cuisine bistrot française et une cuisine asiatique (du Japon jusqu’en Asie du Sud-​Est) la carte du PM donne des étincelles dans les yeux et de la salive sur le petit coin de la bouche.
Commençons par la carte des vins. Un choix limité mais tout ce qu’il faut. Le Graves proposé collait très bien à mon envie du soir. Top !
Je me suis jeté sur le magret de canard banane et et figue … Un délice !
Une viande rosée comme demande. Fondante avec cette peau croustillante comme j’aime.
Des haricots frais bien cuits et surtout un écrasé de pomme de terre à tomber par terre (et je suis un fan de PDT!!)
Moi qui craignais les bananes dans le plat, finalement elles apportent une vraie touché d’exotisme. Comme dans beaucoup de plant asiatique, ce sont des petites bananes qui sont utilisées. Et non celles que l’on connaît en supermarché en France :).
Pas de dessert, j’avais plus de place. Les portions sont très bien étudiées :)
Conseil: faites une réservation. J’ai l’impression que le restaurant se remplit vite (la clientèle est très internationale)
Le staff est plus qu’agréable. Souriant (le vrai), aimable et de bon conseil.
Le prix: un peu au dessus de ce qui est proposé sur Paris mais sans être trop. La qualité se paye et on né se fait pas avoir au PM :)
Les +: la qualité des produits, la carte, les saveurs qui explosent.
Les —: … La lumière rouge en terrasse qui empêche de prendre des belles photos? :p

Three Americans dined here and had a lovely experience. While most of the staff had trouble with English there was a cute bartender who had studied abroad in London that helped us navigate the menu. One of our favorite meals in France/​Amsterdam.

French food with an Asian twist on some dishes. They make one of my favorite magrets de canard here and their potato purée is always spot on. Their tartare is pure French-​Asian fusion; they add in cilantro and slightly pickled carrots mixed with a nuoc-​mum-​like sauce to lighten a typically heavy dish.
I have eaten here more times than I can count. You will have a good meal here though service can definitely range depending on how busy they are. Just order more wine. Sometimes they send you off with a limoncello (or meloncello?) shot.

Nous avons diner hier soir au Petit Marché, lieu que nous avions l’habitude de fréquenter et de recommander avant la mauvaise expérience d’hier soir. Dès l’entrée, la serveuse a commencer a faire la grimace pck nous lui avons demander de changer de table vu qu’elle nous avait placé sur la seule qui se trouve sur le passage alors que le restaurant était vide. Après une heure d’attente j’ai du réclamer les entrées et les plats… il se trouve qu’ils avaient oublier de passer notre commande, même pas une excuse de leur part. Ils ramènent les 2 entrées à partager et oublient les assiettes. Lorsque nous les demandont, la serveuse fait a nouveaux la grimace et faisant signe de né pas comprendre pk nous voulons des assiettes. Le reste était correct sauf la tatin dont la pâté etait mole surement en raison d’un rechauffement rapide au micro, un dessert qui me semble une arnaque pour 9 euros!!! En résumé, cette mauvaise expérience marque ma dernière visite a un des mes restos préférés du marais

Underwelming service and atmosphere here sunk a delicious meal. We waited 45 minutes to get a drink order in, not even a glass of water in the meantime. The table behind us literally stood to get the attention of two waiters serving the indoor and outdoor spaces combined. We were sure it was because we we Americans in Paris but no, Parisians in Paris were treated equally horrifically.
The food, once available, was delicious. Unfortunately we had to immediately beg for the check knowing that it would be another hour before seeing a server again.
There are too many restaurants in Paris to waste your time waiting on this one.

Whatever you do do not come here. The staff hates Americans and was nothing but rude to us. A French girl started yelling at my friend because she accidentally tapped her foot and the waiter asked us to leave the restaurant. If you are American do not come here the staff is nothing but rude!

Super Restaurant mit authentischer Küche. Wir waren gleich zweimal zu Gast. Man sitzt dort unbeschreiblich schön. Guter Service, leckeres Essen!

Excellent lunch in the Marais neighborhood. Fennel salad with shrimp and risotto with fresh vegetables (a little heavy on the cream) were both good. The salmon tartare with mango was outstanding. The only negative aspect to our lunch was the cold reception we received from our waitress. In addition there was no menu in English which made it a little difficult to order.

Had dinner here while we were visiting Paris. This restaurant was very close to our apartment.
I had the entrée of the day, grilled fish with french beans. Hubby had steak with mashed potatoes. Both were happy with our entrees.

I went here for dinner with my friend who moved to Paris from NYC. She said that it has extremely solid Asian-​inspired French food, which I was interested to try. We made our way over to the restaurant a bit late for our reservation, but still managed to get seated.
There were lots of foreigners eating here, mainly British, and I saw a Korean group!
We ordered the sea bream ceviche to start and all of us ordered the duck breast main. We also got a carafe of the Graves red wine from Château Monbazan.
The wine was great (I’m not really a wine person though, so take that with a grain of salt). It was only € 17 for a good six glasses, which was great.
The ceviche starter was brilliantly executed, with not much acidity (almost a tartare). I liked the light seasoning, which really highlighted the freshness of the bream. It was great topped on the baguettes!
The duck breast was so good. It was cooked to a perfect rare and then thinly sliced (like seriously thinly sliced) and it was an absolute pleasure to eat. The sauce was not overpowering at all (slightly sweet) and it went well with the mashed potatoes and green beans that came with the meal.
We decided to skip dessert (looked pretty average and not spectacular), as we were very full (funny story, no word in French for full with regards to eating).
The service was very slow, but I think that’s about normal in Paris.
Definitely recommend this place, but make a reservation!

Delicious! One of our favorite meals in Paris! Great food, great ambiance, friendly and very good service… Recommend it highly.

Alors Le Petit marché dans mon top 10 à Paris ! Une déco typique des bistros parisiens. Les plats, juste bien. Une cuisine de bistrot/​marché. Des plats parfaitement maîtrisés. Bön produits. La salade chinoise un must. Carte des vins bien cool, un poil chère. Quand je sais que j’y vais I’M HAPPY, quand j’en sors I’M HAPPY aussi ! Fausse note: enfin plutôt une règle né jamais manger à l’intérieur sous peine de monter sur la table pour faire taire tout le monde. Alors attendre patiemment une table en terrasse, oui c’est ma cantine en été only ;-) Service plutôt sympa mais peut mieux faire. Je recommande chaudement.

The best duck in Paris!

Its really good food and the small place make you feel really comfortable. The salad is top!!! Tipp: dont go there without reservation, its always full. Always when I go to Paris I must go there.

Hands down the best out of the way, most service and chef friendly, energetic (yet, respectfully quiet late at night given the Gendarmerie across the street) restaurant in Le Marais.

This was our last night in Paris and we are so glad we went to Le Petite Marche because it was fantastic. I had the tuna and my husband had the scallops and we shared dessert. Everything was perfect and the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. She even read us the entire menu in English!

Tolles Essen, gemütliche Stimmung. Man kann direkt in die Küche schauen :)
1 Punkt Abzug, da ein Nachtisch vergessen wurde. Dieser war aber wie alle Gerichte sehr, sehr lecker und kam nach einem Hinweis ganz schnell an unseren Tisch.

Our first meal in Paris! Very friendly waiter and incredible food. We had the fish special and lamb and it was perfect. The lamb was the best we’ve ever had and was deliciously medium rare. The fish was whole and we were scraping any remnants off the bone and enjoying the pesto like sauce it was served with. We ate outside under the heat lamps and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood.

Had a great dinner here. What I experienced was the opposite of them trying to turn tables. I didn’t see one restaurant in France trying to turn tables. This is a good choice for a meal in the neighborhood. I had the fish special which was delightful

What a amazing place to dine! Beautiful interior with art with only woman. Great food and it was all delicious. Especially the Salad Chinoise, perfect. Specialty of the house, I heard. The people were very friendly and even smile, which seems like very hard for French people :) I liked it a lot! Very recommended.

I have not been to this restaurant in years. They’ve changed Chefs and the food has improved dramatically for the better. But here’s a few problems I have with this restaurant. #1 they turn tables. #2 they’re very bad at turning tables. #3 they lie, which is the worse thing you can do.
We arrived at 8 pm, the time our reservations were made. They told us our table wasn’t ready and it’d be a few more minutes, so we waited. About half an hour later we asked what was going on? and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said our reservations was for 7:30, which we clearly said NO way. Locals do not make reservations at 7:30? American tourist do, but NOT locals (which we are). And, they gave our table away. A friend would not accept this and basically said you get our table ready cause we made reservations, and I don’t care how you do it. Another group followed us and were told I assume the same lie, so they left and we believe we got their tables.
Once inside we had a wonderful time. However, the noise level was unbelievably loud. Would I go back, ABSOLUTELY NOT, for the primary reason I don’t like going to restaurants that turn the tables, which is a new concept in Paris and they’re very bad at it! And, my philosophy about dining in Paris, it has to be about the overall experience.

Decent lunch spot with a well priced formule, particularly for the neighborhood. Was a bit disappointed with my meal after hearing some rave reviews, but admittedly did not order the much talked-​about sesame-​encrusted tuna. Service so slow that we ended up leaving cash in a huff.

This café/​restaurant is located on a small street off the attractive place des Vosges. It’s busy, noisy, and jam-​packed (don’t come here if you don’t like to be seated in cramped quarters). Helpful and friendly staff. You’ll find French cuisine with Asian influences such as fresh tuna tartare (thon cru) with toasted sesame seed served with a Thai sauce. Excellent raspberry (framboise) dessert. Well worth a visit!

Difficult to find but well worth the effort. Excellent meal. I also felt the pricing was reasonable (130 Euro for 4).
My lamb was very good as was my wife’s fish. We also shared 4 desserts, all great.

A éviter !
Surfait ! Carte alléchante mais une fois dans l’assiette, déception ! Qualité et quantité né sont pas au rdv. Malgré cela, resto particulièrement cher et je né parle même pas du prix des vins. Accueil désagréable, vite vite il faut faire de la place pour les clients suivants. En parlant de place, c est ce qui manqué le plus. A vouloir rentabiliser un max, on tasse les gens donc trop trop bruyant ! A éviter…

Une fusion franco asiatique des plus réussi!
Pour avoir goûté une grande partie de la carte je né peux que vous conseiller ce lieu plein de charme,
La Deco du lieu est assez spécial de prime abord mais on s’habitué très vite aux ton boisés somme toute très chaleureux.
En duo ou entre amis.
Un vrai régale.
Je conseil la salade chinoise en entre et le Tartare Chan Maï (pas sur de l’orthographe)

With its delectable French menu and subtle touch of Asian fusion, Le Petit Marché has a lot to offer. There is a real respect here for food. Everything is cooked to perfection and flavors are masterfully mixed. Simple and well executed dishes are sure to please every palet. Wines are good and many afforable options are available (we were very happy with the house red and the house white). The place itself is cozy, charming and hip (much like the staff and clientèle) — a must try.

Serveur exquis. Entrée, plat, dessert, délicieux. Ce n’est pas donné, mais ça vaut largement ce prix, tout est bon, raffiné, bien cuisiné, bien assaisonné, les mariage de goûts sont bien choisis, les vins sont bons. Pour un bon restaurant en amoureux: idéal. De préférence quand la terrasse est ouverte, elle plus agréable que l’intérieur qui est un peu petit. A recommander !

Intimate café one block from the Place des Vosges. We sat on the terrace, but décor was described as «extremely cute» (read: hip) by my wife. Service was about as good as you’re likely to get in France: The waiters mostly spoke English and were fairly understanding of our cultural misunderstandings; no French haughtiness that I could detect.
Food was great, especially the cod (cabillaud); definitely a cut above your average sidewalk bistrot. Quality, quantity, presentation, the whole deal.
Be forewarned that if you want to get away from the tourists, you’re outta luck here: This was apparently mentioned in one of the tourist guides and attracts well over 50% expat constituency.

After living in Paris for a while, french food can become a bit dull (except breakfast pastries… those always hit the spot). Solution? You’ve found it. It’s traditional cuisine with an asian spin — i.e. asian beef tartare — plus lots of amazing fish dishes.
This restaurant is a local hotspot and so do take the effort to make a reservation if you don’t want to wait for your table.
It’s open throughout the day (however, only serving food for the lunch and dinner period) EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK ! What did I tell you? Not your typical french restaurant (:

La cuisine dépassé de loin la qualité du service qui laisse un peu à désirer et c’est dommage. La nourriture y est vraiment bonne, savoureuse, les plats sont copieux, les produits frais, un vrai régal. Il est préférable de réserver car souvent bondé de monde.

sinon la cuisine est superbe, raffinée et avec une touché de saveur asiatique! le tartare aller retour est simplement une tuerie!!!
La queue est inévitable mais l’attente au bar autour d’un verre est agréable et vous pouvez même y prendre un verre au sol aménagé façon cosy cosy!

Sympa mais bondé et un peu bruyant
Y suis allé avec 2 amis. On nous a trouvé une place vers 21h bien que ce soit bondé même en terrasse. Service OK et bons plats. Magrets bien cuits notamment. Ce que j’ai préféré c’est la tarte aux fraises. Bön rapport qualité/​prix.

Une excellente découverte. La salle pleine de charme invite à l’attente des plats que l’on découvre et déguste avec plaisir!

Après 2 résas inutiles (réserver pour attendre quand même 45 min non merci !), un miracle un vendredi soir: Une table de libre dans l’immédiat ! On se faufile dans la salle bondée et on s’installe «tranquillement»… Dips carotte/​concombre histoire de patienter (pas mauvais et light), commande prise rapidement et servie tout aussi vite: Croustillants de gambas très bons ça commence bien, vite le plat, les entrecôtes arrivent avec des cuissons (presque) respectées mais l’accompagnement euh que dire? Un bol de haricots et un de purée, à nous 2 de nous débrouiller… sans compter la touffe d’herbe aromatiques dans le coin de l’assiette (bien inutile ici). Et là le vacarme que l’on surmontait nous submerge, vive la migraine en guise de dessert ! Bilan, une cuisine certes bonne mais rien qui justifie le prix ou l’attente et une migraine garantie à la sortie !

Etablissement des frères Costes mais.
Bistrot parisien avec tables sur le trottoir quand le temps le permet, ce qui n’est pas désagréable car la rue est calme.
Cuisine très originale teintée de parfums asiatiques notamment un tataki de thon rouge à tomber.
Très bonne adresse.

Ce restaurant aux allures de brasserie est situé au cœur du troisième arrondissement parisien. L’ambiance y est bruyante mais agréable, cependant le restaurant est très petit et il vaudra mieux réserver. La place est rentabilisée au maximum, ça favorise la promiscuitéet l’accès aux tables n’est pas facile. Pourtant la nourriture était particulièrement bonne, plutôt raffinée, et servie en quantités raisonnables. Le service a été rapide même si nous n’étions par particulièrement pressés. Il reste un détail notable à signaler: le prix. Pour deux personnes, avec un peu de vin, vous arriverez assez facilement à 60 – 70 EUR le soir, les menus de midi étant plus raisonnables. Mais si vous voulez une sortie vraiment sympa dans un cadre sympathique et typique, et que vous appréciez la bonne bouffe, alors Au petit marché est fait pour vous et votre moitié

Très belle déco et bonne cuisine
Un petit resto (à prendre au sens tout à fait propre … la salle est de taille très réduite !), à trois de la place de Vosges et de la rue de Turenne. Accueil plutôt froid, petit attente mais service efficace. Carte et menu intéressant, menu pas trop cher en semaine le midi et cuisine plutôt bonne voir agréable. La salle est très bien décorée, malgré le bruit. Il y a une petite terrasse, sur la très calme rue de Béarn. Il vaut mieux réserver, car c’est assez vite plein.

Cuisine excellente !
A deux pas de la Place des Vosges, on trouve ce petit restau accueillant où la carte est alléchante, le décor apaisant et le patron souriant. On né sait trop quoi choisir entre le mille feuille de thon cru et le carré d’agneau rôti… En quelques minutes, le patron vous tutoie et on a l’impression de faire partie des habitués. En hiver, la terrasse est bien chauffée, bien qu’un peu exiguë; si l’on préfère être dans la salle, il vaut mieux réserver. Plats entre 14 et 19 €.
