Just had dinner here and the food and service were great! The atmosphere is cozy and charming, replicating the south of France (hence the restaurant name). The servers were very attentive and took time to explain the menu to each table. We realized one of our servers was also one of the restaurant owners. We ate the lamb confit and seafood platter which were delicious! It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the experience.

Ambience here is 5 star but in my opinion this is an expensive tourist trap. The moment you enter you feel like you have been transported to the south of France but, it sort of stops there. The service is ok and arrogant. They had run out of many items on the menu by the time we arrived.
The menu cards in English were a bit of a giveaway for me. It was expensive mains and many of the dishes I wanted to order were not available. The wine list is small and has some ok wines in it. The red we had was ordinary and, the lack of Provençal aperitifs also, equally disappointing.
I had the petit pots for starter which was ok. Four dips in pots with breads. It did not blow me away in anyway. My main of whole fish was also ok and slightly overcooked. They forgot to bring my sides for the whole meal and I was left with a whole fish and nothing else. My café gourmand was the highlight of the evening and the chocolate mousse was to die for.
I don’t think I would come back here again. Paris is one of my favourite cities to eat out as, there is such an extensive culinary scene here. I am confident I can do way better for a lot less money, in this town. I will leave this place for the people who want to pay a lot of money for ok food :-))

Located next to the Palais de Congres, you’d never expect to be transported to Provence as you walk across the threshold into a charming courtyard of olive trees and cicadas (yes — they have a recording of cicadas that plays in an inobstrusive loop.
During my three days in Paris, I visited Le Sud twice — and had the lamb confit both times. It is that amazing.

Went here while on a business trip and stayed next door at the Le Meridien. Besides for feeling awkward having dinner alone (business travelers life) — the host an wait staff were unwelcoming. Once I was seated, the staff forgot I was there and didn’t bother to bring me a menu for almost 20 minutes — despite me making hand gestures to get their attention. I had to practically shout to get someone’s attention! Once I ordered — about 30 euros for eggplant and ground beef — I was shocked at how small the portion was, almost thought it was an appetizer. The food had no taste and was expensive for no reason. I plan on coming to Paris often on business and will never, ever give them my business again!

Avoid this place .
The restaurant is quite lovely with an authentic country French atmosphere which is quite inviting from the street. That is where the charm ends. The service was very disappointing. It was clear that the staff was not interested in American visitors — although those around us appeared to be getting better service ! Staff made no effort to communicate (although we attempted with broken French to our best) with us .
The food was below average and in spite of five different meals, nothing was worth remembering. The menu is quite one dimensional and without any genuine originality. Dessert was clearly purchased from down the street and re-​served. Overall a very negative experience.

Worth trying for sure! Food was good! Had the rockfish soup, rack of lamb and crème bulee. Host was great but our server was dull (at first). After some wine and a couple of small jokes our server warmed up to us. Nice ambiance. Classy place with a very unique space to remember.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. The staff don’t speak a lot of English as others have mentioned. But they do have English menu. I ordered the La Bourride which is a melting pot (literally came in a hot pot) of tender seafood simmering in a very smooth but not over-​flavored broth. It was a hit and the broth goes well with the special garlic? butter bread that come with the dish. I had wanted to try their crème burlee but will have to wait for the next time. Will definely come back and try some if their dishes like the lamb confit.

I was in Paris for two weeks and I ate at Le Sud twice. I had a suckling lamb confit dish with pasta and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Paris. I had it twice and I look forward to eating there again when I return to Paris.
The wine was good too.

Très bien mais cher
Tout est parfait: le décor planté de 2 oliviers, on se croirait dans un mas provençal avec en fond le bruit des cigales. Trop bien et dépaysant. La nourriture est excellente et le service rapide, efficace et souriant. Par contre, je trouve les prix très élevés pour de l’agneau confit et des pâtes 35 € environ.

My wife and I just had dinner here tonight. The food was ok but the kitchen messed up and so it took 45 min to receive our meals. My wife’s bream was fantastic but my lamb confi was way too salty. Service was good, except the large hostess was incredibly rude!

Comment imaginer un tel cadre à l’ombré du palais des congrès Porte Maillot. Cuisine teintée de soleil et personnel au diapason du chant des cigales. Je vous recommande le jardin et ses oliviers.

I’ve stayed at the Meridien 3 times now and got a chance to have a meal here. At first glance, it looks a bit chain restaurant like the others on the same block but glad to see the positive reviews on Unilocal. (I am trying to Unilocal more often internationally!). We picked a table which looked like a courtyard — where there is a lot of natural sunlight that comes in which gives you the feel of sitting outside. Especially good when it is rather cold out.
Luckily this place was open relatively early on Easter Sunday. I went for the set menu which was pretty good value which was 2 courses for 25 euros. I started with the old fashion terrine — which was really good. I had the half chicken for my main and my first bite was a bit dry, but luckily it was only 1 part. It was a delicious roasted chicken with a block of mashed potatoes. I wish there was more gravy as it was seasoned with some lovely fresh herbs. I was ready to start gnawing at the bone but held back as it was a lot of food in the end. I’d love to come by and try the Bourride next time.

Si déçu… dommage !
En visite à Paris pour les fêtes de Noël, nous avions été «alléché» par ce menu de Noël et surtout ses 13 desserts ! Pour commencer, un accueil fort sympathique avec des employés aux petits soins; accompagnés d’un jeune enfant, nous sommes arrivés à 19h et comme nous étions quasiment seuls, nous avons pu dîner en… 1 heure (pour une fois, nous aurions aimé respirer un peu entre chaque plat mais bref… on né va pas râler sur tout). Un menu enfant était proposé, avec soit poulet soit poisson, mais après choix, on nous annonce qu’il n’y a que du poisson (rappelons que nous sommes seuls, et le réveillon de Noël !); le poisson arrive et voyant la mine dépité du p’tit bonhomme, je m’aperçois que le poisson n’est pas cuit du tout !! Retour en cuisine ! Ça débute mal, mais le personnel est charmant alors nous laissons passé. De notre côté, le champagne est correct, avec des amandes pour grignoter et 3 tartines grillés garnies assez bonnes, le vin (cher) mais bon, le foie gras poêlé pas mal. Ensuite, viens les Saint-​Jacques, j’adore les cuisiniers et là, j’ai eu du mal à terminer, elles avaient pris un goût d’ail trop cuit, le risotto était trop cuit. Nous attendons donc avec impatience nos 13 desserts… et là, on nous amèné une assiette avec oui 13 desserts, mais imaginez un instant: en vrac, une poignée d’amandes, de raisins secs, un beignets nature banal, un nougat et un calisson sous blister, un quart de poire et de pomme pas épluchés, une figue sèche !! Alors oui il s’agit bien des 13 desserts provençaux mais honnêtement, on s’attendait à une ré-​improvisation, de l’imagination pour mettre nos papilles en éveil. Déçu, déçu, déçu !

Le cadre est sympathique, la cuisine pas mauvaise mais payer 26 € trois cuillères à soupe de brandade de morue… l’addition est donc salée.Les serveurs sont souriants et agréables.Par contre je trouve incroyable de faire la queue pendant 15 minutes pour pouvoir accéder aux toilettes! Il y a un sérieux problème de conception.

Great little restaurant across the street from the Palais du Congress and the Hotel Concorde.
We dined there twice, neither time with a reservation. The staff was wonderful and the food was very good.
As we were in Paris for a conference at the Palais du Congress, among several hundred others, the staff assumed we spoke English and did their best to accommodate us, even providing English menus.
The escargot was great on our first visit, but overcooked on our second. Otherwise the food was very good and reasonably priced (for Paris).

Great local restaurant across from the Palais de Congres. The Bourride, which is a creamy style bouillabaisse, was delicious. I also had the Limoncello Baba which was also very good. Our waiter spoke english very well but it did not seem like a touristy spot by any means. Very authentic food from the style of southern france. Main dishes are about 30 euro, but worth the price.

Il n’y a rien à redire sur les plats et leur qualité, même si parfois, c’est un peu salé. Par contre, les amoureux ou les amateurs de quiétude éviteront cet endroit qui aux heures de pointe est aussi encombré que la place Maillot voisine. Le service est parfois perturbé par le grand nombre de convives. A recommander pour les détentes d’affaires.

San Luis Obispo, CA
Olive trees, sun baked bricks, and garden tables, all call to mind the South of France, and this cheerfully pastel restaurant next to the Meridian Etoile does the same. It is also the perfect antidote to the uberhip sterility of the Meridian décor. You enter through a pair of grill work iron doors, and are greeted with the bright mis of soft pastels that speaks of the breezes and sun of the South. The menu features dishes culled from French country cooking, which is also the cuisine most Americans are familiar with. The restaurant does attract many tourist diners from the large hotels that surround it, so the staff can accommodate English speakers well.
We sat near the street window, in a courtyard of potted olive trees wrapped in twinkling lights. We were immediately brought some bruschetta and olive tapenade with a dish of almonds, a thoughtful hors d’oevre for the hearty country food to follow. I ordered a delicious Bourrade, a dish resembling Bouillabaise, but more like a rich fish chowder containing cream and garlic. My beau had the three course special priced meal at 33 Euros, with ripe cantalope, grilled salmon on a bed of greens and rice, followed by a rich chocolate torte. As I soaked up my exquisite Bourrade with crisp chewy baguettes, we chatted with a Mom and daughter traveling through Italy and France, as we had. We all recounted our hair-​raising transportation stories, and enjoyed the meal even more for our adventures! A relaxing place for our last night au Paris!

L’endroit est beaucoup moins joli que sur les photos. Les prix sont exorbitants pour ce qui est servi ! Le tartare de daurade, soit disant un plat… mais en effet ça fait plus tôt une portion entrée est quand même à 25 Euros. Le dessert le moins cher une Panna Cotta (pas très appétissante) est à 8.40 Euros. sinon comptez 12 Euros un dessert. Le servuce est gentil est prévénant, mais la qualité des plat et les prix sont disproportionnés.

Vaujours, Seine-Saint-Denis
Ce restaurant vous plonge dans une ambiance unique a Paris. Une fois la porte passee, vous vous retrouverez en plein coeur d une terrasse du Sud de la France. Les oliviers, les chants des oiseaux et quelques cris de cigales vous accompagneront pendant le repas. Cote carte, les plats né sont pas nombreux mais les amateurs de poissons se sentiront courtises.

Du chant des cigales aux oliviers en passant par la cuisine et les nappes fleuries, tout est organisé afin de vous faire voyager en Provence.
Les serveurs sont souriants et vous accueillent chaleureusement bien entendu. Le chef vous concocte des petits plats typiques comme la traditionnelle bouillabaisse, daurade accompagnée de ratatouille… Dommage que les prix sont un peu trop élevés par rapport à la qualité de la cuisine.

Au restaurant «Le Sud», ce n’est pas uniquement la cuisine qui est provençale, c’est l’ambiance!
On se croirait… dans le sud! Avec les oliviers et le chant des cigales qui berce votre repas, c’est le dépaysement garanti.
Les serveurs sont très aimables et la cuisine, un pur délice: la charlotte d’agneau aux aubergines est juste exquise.
Côté addition, à deux, vous en aurez minimum pour 60 euros. Attention: veillez à réserver sinon, il n’est pas certain que vous ayez une table.

Très belle adresse. Le décor de la grande salle du rez-​de-​chaussez donne vraiment l’illusion de se trouver en terrasse d’un restaurant en Provence.
Le service est très sympathique et sérieux sans être guindé.
La cuisine fait la part belle aux poissons et se savoure. Si parmi les convives il y a un carnivore invétéré il pourra se reposer sur de très belles accommodations d’agneau où la Provence chante aussi dans l’assiette.
Les desserts sont aussi au rendez-​vous et le baba au Marc de Provence est bien imbibé ;)
Pas de doute, pour prendre un peu le soleil en ces courtes journées d’hiver et faire chanter ses papilles aux accents du midi, rien de tel qu’un bon moment en bonne compagnie à deux pas du Palais des Congrès.
Juste une petite remarque, lors de mon dernier diner, la terrine de poissons de roche s’apparentait plus à une terrine de légumes aux poissons de roche.

On connait la chanson mais ici on s’y croirait vraiment dans de Sud tellement c’est bien fait à se demander si le chant des cigales né va pas gêner la sieste !
Parce que côté cuisine on n’a aucun soucis, tout est bien réussi: le gâteau de tomates confites mozzarella, la savoureuse morue demi-​sel en citronette d’aïoli, et le nougat glacé au miel avec son coulis de fruit, sont parfaits !
Le service est gentil, et on circule dans les nombreuses salles au décor Provençal comme dans un village méridional. On est encore en vacances.

Très beau décor avec le chant des cigales en fonds et des oliviers dans tous les salons mais le nombre de plat est très réduit.

J’ai aimé: l’architecture d’intérieur extraordinaire. Le confort. La qualité de la cuisine et des produits.
L’anbiance est sympa et le service remarquable !
Un cadre chaleureux qui rappelle le sud… Bien évidemment !
