When ever I am in Paris this is a must. The perfect mix of food and family! Try the beef and and lamb

Spent Valentines day at this wonderful little spot. Off Boulevard St Germain, L’Epigramme is a a gem if you are looking for a creative twist on traditional cuisine in an intimate environment. The fact that it is family owned and operated, with husband, wife and daughter often running the place, adds to its uniqueness. Very special and delicious restaurant!

The people are lovely but someone in the kitchen cannot cook! The gazpacho with melon tasted like melon and veg thrown into a blender. I could not even cut into the canette de canard. They brought me wine and cheese instead when I refused to eat any more of their cooking, and while these were edible, unlike the meal, they were profoundly mediocre and not worth the bother to eat and drink. When a restaurant can’t find good wine and cheese in Paris, there is a serious problem. And all the people in the restaurant were American. Not really surprised – it does look charming and the people are extremely nice, but those things do not a restaurant make. Also the food and wine are written on large, awkward chalkboards that Madame totes up to your table and stands there holding while you decide – not relaxing at all and taking one’s time felt rude. At $ 60 it looked like a bargain – at least until the food arrived.

Fabulous place to eat off the beaten path in Paris! My fiancé and I were referred by our hotel concierge or would otherwise had never found it it was great. We ordered off a prefix menu of 3 courses. I had the best foie gras I’ve set had in my life! The proprietors are a lovely couple who are very hospitable and welcoming even with a language barrier(we speak NO French). I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food in this intimate restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended. Overly saturated with tourists when we went, but hey, we were tourists too. Great food overall though the duck was a little tough.

The food is great. The ambiance is nice. The couple that runs the restaurant is helpful and pleasant. I had the foie gras which was perfectly cooked. Lamb was perfectly cooked. A good wine selection. It is a small restaurant so reservations are a must.

Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in Paris. Ever. My brother and I stumbled upon this gem of a spot while strolling around, asked if they had a table for two(at 7:15PM) and they sat us right away… The price was nice and it looked comfy and cozy. We had no idea that we would get the most amazing dining experience. I kindly asked them if I might have a vegetarian option and they easily obliged; giving me the most amazing vegetable tray and offering the lentil soup for the starter. What my brother and I could NOT get over was their preparation of potatoes. He had a white potato– I had the sweet potato– and each of ours were the most perfectly crisp on the outside, moist on the inside potatoes we had EVER. HAD. And the Painperdu(French Toast) dessert was– no lie– I think the best dessert I have EVER had. They made a slightly toasted with chocolate french toast with this light, sweet pistachio sauce along the outside. My mouth literally watered from eating it. If I could go back there JUST to get that dessert to go, I would. Highly HIGHLY recommend this spot. Adorable. Delicious. Affordable. French. What’s not to love!?! Go. Go. GO!

I’ve visited L’Epigramme each time I’ve been in Paris over the past several years. The food and hospitality have been uniformly excellent on each visit. The menu is limited but there have always been choices that I’ve enjoyed. It’s a cozy place and very hospitable. Family run, Sarkis and his wife are warm and welcoming. I recommend it without hesitation.

Wow, we had the most amazing lunch here! L’Epigramme is tucked away on the south bank near the Jardin du Luxembourg. I recommend visiting the garden then walking here to reward yourself with delicious food. You won’t be disappointed! This charming restaurant is fairly small, and the wonderful service makes your experience warm and delightful. Our lady server didn’t speak a lot of English, but she did an amazing job translating each menu item through gestures and phrases. The menu is abbreviated, but everything we tried was so tasty, perfectly executed, and beautifully plated. On top of everything else, it was a great value! I will definitely revisit L’Epigramme the next time I’m lucky enough to be in Paris!

Very intimate, cozy. Owner is. Dry gregarious and welcoming. The lanky waiter speaks good English from living in Vancouver. Limited menu. Hidden gem. Main complaint that none of the dishes have green vegetables. This is most disconcerting. The cod with crispy risotto nice. Duck with prune mustard and potatoes good. The pistachio crème brûlée was excellent. The poached quince was okay, a little too tart.

Our group of six Americans had a marvelous experience at L’Epigramme. The setting was cozy and inviting, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our three course meal with some cocktails and wine came out to 60 € per person(the fixed price was 38 €). The staff speak only French, but respond well to gestures and butchered French. After dining among tourists in cafes in St Germain all week, this restaurant made us feel like natives.

After reading nice reviews I went there with my husband. We had made a reservation which seemed to be necessary for a Saturday evening. We had a problems finding the place and arrived 20 minutes late, but is was no problem. It’s a family runned buisness with a fine and helpfull service. Just don’t expect them to speak other than French. I find the interior very cosy. The food is French with a twist and most of the twists are successful. I will definitely consider coming back next time I’m in Paris.

Meandering during lunch time we stopped to read the outside wall menu & the kind proprietor walked out & graciously offered to answer any menu questions we may have had. 2 or 3 course pre-fixed menu with a higher priced wine list. My starter was Cuttlefish with Espelette & Citron Caviar… gentle lemon flavors popped in my mouth while the spicy Spanish paprika awakened my senses with spice. Citron Caviar — a first time for me dining experience for me — fun stuff! Roasted Duck Breast coated with roasted whole coriander and served with Crapaudine beets & beet paste. Delicate, delicious flavors! French version of chocolate molten lava cake with caramel sauce was perfect. Great service!!!

I would wholeheartedly say that my husband and I had a vastly different experience than Alex A., thankfully. The service was great(friendly and the food delivery was not untimely) and we didn’t find the wine to be overpriced compared to other restaurants we’d been to in the area — we did order by the glass. The food is the same price(28 Euros) as the 3 course prix fixe menu at Allard(see that review — where you don’t have to order the prix fixe — they also have an a la carte menu), but is much more refined than Allard’s simple but delicious food. Universally, the food was fresh, light and exceedingly well prepared and presented. I really like the intimate atmosphere with the windows facing the well«floraed» courtyard. Given many of the mediocre bistros and such in the 6th arrondissement, I would absolutely return to L’Epigramme for either lunch or dinner.

I would have put 3 stars for the food, minus 1 for the price, minus 1 for the service. Used to be great but change of owner around a year ago(hence a lot of good albeit a bit dated reviews) To sum up: — food is decent but overpriced, you can find much better value even nearby(l’agrume, le comptoir du relais, azabu, la boissonnerie, le porte pot, etc.) — service is very bad — clients are 80% tourists(which is quite telling) 38 € for a(appetizer + entrée + dessert). Impossible to change. I went there for a family member birthday, and got late due to work. I arrived after the appetizer, and they refused to take it out of the menu, but offered a coffee in exchange(a 50 cents coffee for a 10 euros appetizer, really?) Then the main course: all but one arrived, after a 40 minutes gap after the end of the appetizer(literally). The one that was late arrived c. 10 minutes after the other ones. No apology at all was offered. Wine was way overpriced: I noticed a bottle offered at 7 euros in retail sold here for 45 euros(Mas du Novi). So just don’t go there, it is really not worth it. Overpriced, really bad service. There are so many great places nearby, don’t waste your time!
