Excellent view and ambience, an innovative menu, and attentive service. Came here for a dinner around sunset and of course got to see the tower light up a few times. Extensive wine and champagne menu. The dishes were unique and satisfying. Our waitress Lucy was friendly, helpful, and spoke English flawlessly(and dealt with our poor attempts at French). Good spot for a romantic dinner, and actually a pretty good value for what you’re getting.

I would recommend only going to Les Ombres for a cocktail on the patio in the summer for the views of the Eiffel Tower. This restaurant is extremely overpriced and the service is questionable. Our dish came incorrectly and the waiter tried to sell us his mistake. We ended up eating 1 dish after the other and therefore sharing both, we said it was ok because we were hungry, but for a restaurant where you are paying 250 Euros for dinner, this absolutely isn’t ok. The food presentation was nice but the taste was severely lacking, we had poached truffle chicken and the Monk fish and weren’t impressed with either. Our waiter, a pleasant man, was also was very suggestive on us tipping him extra(Paris includes 20% + 10% tips) and he added an extra 30 euros onto the bill that wasn’t on the receipt(conveniently forgot to add two glasses of free pour wine). I do not recommend for dinner and will not visit again. I do believe there are a ton of better restaurants in Paris for better value. Great for tourists who want to feel like a tourist.

How unharmony place! Incredible view but worst service and overrated food! First, It was my honeymoon. I asked for window seats on reservation. When we arrive at hall, some window seats were availbable. I asked for window seat again but they said it’s for 3 person. So, we set on the table in front of setting table, all server was walked fast behind us. It was so annoyed. Moreover, a few minutes later, all window seats were filled with couples. I asked again for seat, the waiter said people who set on window seat reserved for 3 people. Are you kidding? starter — 30min — main dish –30 min — dessert — 30 min — tea. Second, food was also unsatisfied. So overpriced. If someone who wants to go here I would introduce restaurants more delicious with lower price. I really disappointed with«Le ombres»

Five stars for the view! 4 stars for the food. I wasn’t drinking on this trip, if not I would highly recommend the chef’s menu with wine pairing. We ordered the lobster salad as an app and we each ordered the veal for dinner. The food was good, but not outstanding. The menu was small and lacked the meats and cheese selections I enjoyed throughout my other dining experiences in Paris. The view is breathtaking at night. I highly recommend this place. Also, I would make sure to have a reservation.

I am going to give it a 2 star rating, cause the view was incredible, even though they did not seat us outside that day(apparently too cold), and the food was decent. However there was a piece of plastic sheet in the foie gras served as an appetizer, and they did zilch when told about this. A good restaurant should atleast replace the dish or offer it gratis. Anyway we moved past the delicious appetizer to the main course, which was veal and the fish of the day. Veal was indeed succulent, and the fish average. Its a nice place for a special occasion, mostly Asians and tourists dining here, understandably so. if you are looking for just top class food(Michelin star equivalent), then you’d better be off going somewhere else.

I, as well as my boyfriend are completely smitten with Los Ombres! We are from the US and had looked up the restaurant back in the states but were unable to make a reservation online that particular day, so we just walked in on Sunday evening at dinner hoping there would be a table by chance. It was a long shot as when we walked inside, it was obvious reservations were a must and everyone was handing the hostess their RSVP print out. Our hostess, Gloria, was above and beyond courteous and welcoming and made a point to ask her manager if we could sit outside and enjoy a drink in hopes a table would open up. We were elated to not be turned away! Plus, we had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower on their balcony while we sipped. Sure enough, about 30 mins later, a table opened and we were able to dine inside. There is simply not a bad seat in the entire restaurant. We would recommend the Filet Mignon and I personally loved their Cosmopolitans. The staff was gracious to speak English even though we were attempting our best French efforts, so that is always kind. I definitely recommend putting Los Ombres on your Paris to-do list! When the Eiffel lights up at night you have the best view!(Plus it’s cool to be eating when it sparkles/flickers every hour for 5 mins.). Enjoy!

The shadows of the Eiffel Tower is an apt description for this top restaurant in Paris, but it is in the shadows of nothing… Meals have always been phenomenal but the views and sunsets have accompanied the meals to make such memorable experiences that had made this spot a must for every visit to Paris. The meal was the liver pâté and then a salad followed by the fish of the day. Each dish was presented so beautifully that it was like eating art… Event eh butter comes in an art form Service this time was a little ‘off’ but nevertheless friendly enough…

This place is WAY too overrated. You get a great view of the Eiffel Tower but then pay dearly for the food and slow service. I had to flag down the waiter just to remind him to bring our water and take our order. They stiff you for 8 euros on a bottle of shitty french water that tastes worse than city water. I ordered a filet mignon. The beef was cold and bland and it was service with rectangles of fries along with fried potato strings atop it. Potato with potato? Who does that? Tasted like something I fry up at home. I certainly don’t want to pay 45 euros for something I can get for $ 25 at a Texas steakhouse that tastes10000 times better! I BEG you to avoid this place. I would rather wait in line to go up the Eiffel Tower than eat here again.

We had the prix fixe lunch of starter, main, and dessert. They do serve complimentary bread with salmon or tuna dish and some sort of pastry. So these will fill you up. I didn’t remember the food until now when I pulled up the photos so hence, the 4 instead of 5 stars. I remember I was too busy looking at the view like a typical tourist. It is a good view that must be better in the evening, but with a small son, I knew that walking around the city would tire us out so I did not want to chance a reservation at dinner here, just in case we could not make it. For lunch we paid $ 113, not bad it included our son’s kiddie pasta and broiled chicken, which he ate. I would definitely return here just to try out dinner. I had salmon, which was unmemorable that I didn’t even recall what I had till I looked at my photos as I mentioned, but salmon to me is typically BLAND. I do remember how tasty my husband’s beef was though. It is for tourists, but I also saw a lot of French people here as solo diners and business lunches so I guess they come for the ambience and food. Who knows, I’m not that picky, but the food was decent. The desserts were also good. The service was good too, and the waiter came back to check up on us. My son had jet lag so he noticed that too, as well as the manager. So all in all, good food, enough to fill you up, good service, great view, and reasonable prices.

A restaurant with a view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s a roof top restaurant. Must make a reservation. Had the lunch prefix menu. This is definitely a high end restaurant. With drinks and two entrees was over two bills. The service was a bit slow. But the food was delicious.

I had arranged an excursion for my family of five through Paris CityVision which started with a three-course prix fix menu at Les Ombres. My only gripe was the early time(necessitated by the activities of the evening), because I hate being the first to a restaurant. But of course, that wasn’t the fault of the restaurant so no hard feelings there. The place started to fill up around 8. The view of the Eiffel Tower is stunning, and the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. The service was professional and fit the formal atmosphere without being too cold. I was pleased that there were several options for each course because some of my family members are less adventurous than others. The food was beautifully presented, and we all enjoyed our meal. The foie gras was my least favorite on its own, but the other garnishes on the plate helped balance out the flavor. The fish and risotto were the stars of the evening. My chocolate dessert beat the others hands down. We each received a glass of champagne when we arrived, and a bottle of wine with the meal. Only three out of the five of us drink, so we were feeling pretty good by the time that we left! Overall a lovely experience, especially when the lights show on the tower starts at nightfall. The only criticism, and it’s a small one that may have been a result of our arrangement, was that the service felt rushed at times. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

I went for my wife’s birthday, we were very excited. The view was very nice, the food is fine but expensive for its quality and taste, yet the worst thing that turned me off the place is the service and the treatment we got. We ordered wine, starter and main dish and for some reason the waiter manager took the menus in a very disrespect way and he had these strange looks all the time. I believe he was very pissed as we didn’t get two main dishes which doesn’t give him the right to act his way. I won’t go again and won’t recommend anyone to do so until they fix their stuffing and improve their food

Read about this restaurant and it’s incredible view in Conde Nast Traveller magazine. Based on the photos alone I knew I had to come here… So we walk in around 5:30 thinking lets just grab a bottle of red and watch the lights come on over the Eiffel Tower. Well unfortunately the restaurant only serves lunch till 2 and then does not reopen again till 7pm. To which we responded ok well can we make a reservation? No unfortunately they were booked through the weekend… Sadly we made our way to the elevator and as one last desperate attempt my bf asked… Well what if we came right at 7? The hostess was kind and took pity on us and said ok but we had to come right at 7 since they were so incredibly booked. So we came back at 7 got seated with a beautiful view of the tower and all its glory. We ordered a delicious bottle of châteauneuf du pape and two steaks. The wine was epic… As it always is… The steaks left something to be desired however they came with these fried leeks that when combined greatly improved the flavor. To sum it up this place is really great for the view… Quite possibly the BEST view of the Eiffel Tower(I’ve been to Paris several times and even lived there for a period of time so pls trust me). Make sure you splurge on the wine as the food was far from Parisian standards in my opinion. I would definitely return as it was incredibly romantic and I can only imagine how fabulous it would be to sit out on the patio on a sultry summer night in Paris :)

Ok so yes the view is great and also the service was wonderful but the food is nothing to be desired at all and on the pricey side. We ordered the duck and the filet both over cooked and under seasoned… Quite disappointing but we loved our waiter and yes it’s a phenomenal view! I still probably wouldn’t recommend– sorry :/

This was our first dinner in Paris and it was absolutely to-die-for. They had great food(main dish and dessert), a great wine selection and a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower — can’t beat that! 1 less start due to the wait staff not being as prompt as we’re used to in comparison to the US.

Pendant longtemps mon restaurant préféré dans la capitale. Sur le toit du quai Branly avec une incroyable vue sur la Tour Eiffel pour les mieux placés d’entre vous. Je né suis pas encore revenue depuis.

We really wanted a dinner reservation to enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower via their glass ceiling but unfortunately we didn’t plan far enough in advance so we did lunch instead. This resto is on top of the Musee de quai Branly. This is one of those places that has very good food but is also expensive and not necessarily good value especially once you convert the prices from euros back to Canadian dollars. We ordered mains and dessert. My scallop main was perfectly cooked scallops on a tiny bed if greens that cost € 33. My hubby’s salmon steak was slightly better value for the portion received. Dessert was a lovely berry Mille feuille and chocolate dessert. It was a nice splurge on a semi rainy day.

What a view! The Eiffel Tower was right in front of me! We had a reservation for dinner. Some people told me that this restaurant was one of the tourists stops, and I should have gone to a place that had more Parisienne local flavor. Yea, but It’s ok, I am an American tourist who is deeply in love with Paris. I had to feel Paris, Paris, and Paris! So, the location, table setting, and the view of the Eiffel Tower, everything was perfect to me to end my very quick visit to Paris. We ordered Artichoke Soup and Wasabi Carpaccio for appetizers along with a glass of white wine called«innocenti» that was very smooth. The presentation was beautiful. I didn’t taste wasabi at all although I saw green dots on the fish. But it’s not a big of a deal. For the main, we ordered steak and fish dish(I can never remember all the fancy names of dishes). They also brought complimentary potato chips and potato dip. This dip was almost like mushed potato, but much more creamy. The fish was very well cooked and chopped mushrooms were laying underneath of it. While enjoying the meals, the light show of the Eiffel Tower started. Beautiful! They light up the tower every hour at night, and it’s really worth to see. The desserts were good, too. Cheese and slice of baguette and Chocolate Moose. This cheese(supposedly camembert) had the most disgusting smell I’ve ever experienced. I ignored the cheese and enjoyed my chocolate moose. The wine was excellent and the meal was delicious. The view was beautiful and very memorable. When we were leaving the restaurant, the hostess asked if we wanted to go out to the patio to get a better view of the tower. She spoke to us in English with the French accent with a very pleasant attitude. We of course accepted the offer and went outside. The tower was right in front and very romantic. I’m definitely in love with Paris.

You are paying for the view and not the food. A bit of a trendy upscale tourist trap. We left with a 400 euro bill for four and did not enjoy more than one dish and one dessert. You are rushed as they want to turn two settings for the tables each night. The food is pricey because of the view and ambiance but they don’t try very hard to make the food memorable. What we did enjoy was the escargot ravioli(starter) and just peach dessert. I’d say go for a drink and maybe apps but don’t get suckered into a full overly priced below mediocre food trap. Bummer. With GOOD food and the view this place could be a solid 5 stars every time.

Visiting Les Ombres was on our must do list while in Paris. Reservations were booked for 7pm, and we were the first guests to arrive. The hostess greeted us and was very friendly inviting us to go outside on the balcony and take pictures. Great idea! Afterwards we were seated at a great table with the view of the tower. Very romantic! Our waiter was very pleasant, and was bilingual(french/english), and was all around happy. We were served complimentary pita chips with what tasted like a cream cheese dip, sprinkled with chives and oil. Very good. The hubby got the 3 course four 65 euros: asparagus soup, scallop curry and the crousti-fondant chocolate sorbet, which was amazing! The desert especially was fantastic! I did not go with the 3 course, but opted for the salmon dish with artichokes and truffles. Absolutely amazing! Bread was served complimentary with the meals. We were also served what tasted like crème brule bites after desert which was also complimentary. Service was fantastic, bottle service was great, and our server was pretty fast at topping up our glasses. Washrooms were nice. The only downside of the night was waiting for the bill. We waited, and waited and waited, and waited… Tip, ask for the bill when they bring you desert if you are in a rush to get somewhere after the meal.
