Touristic trap, very disappointing experience, we have been fooled by the atmosphere which is actually quite nice. White wine was sour and after two glasses wasn’t enjoyable anymore. Snails were tasteless compared to good restaurants in this price range. I had a hard time trying to eat my steak but gave up with 30% of it because it was too hard to chew. Service wasn’t friendly, once our plates were empty, the waiter immediately asked if we wanted a dessert and when we refused, he offered to bring the check even if our bottle was half full. I kindly pointed that out l, he kindly suggested to drink our wine and go. Two stars instead of one just due to the atmosphere, which is a very important component to attract tourists…

Had lunch special one weekday. Husband had herring and potatoes. We both had salmon that came with spinach and potatoes. I had crème brûlée. Husband enjoyed herring and potatoes. I thought the salmon dish was mediocre at best, a bit on the oily side due to its cream-based sauce. It kinda reminded me of a large institution cafeteria food. Dessert was also okay, but nothing spectacular. This was a quick lunch spot in the area, but nothing special or great to recommend to fellow tourists. Plus, there was a construction going on just across the street – obviously did not add to the dining experience.

Lou Pescadou Chez Julien is a restaurant owned by the same owners as Bistrot d’Henri just a block away. Bistrot d’Henri is an old popular traditional restaurant in Paris owned by the family Poulat and is now run by the sons of the original owner, who have now also opened this new place called Lou Pescadou with completely different menu selection. We had originally arrived at Bistrot d’Henri because my friend wanted good boeuf bourguignon and Unilocal led me there. Unfortunately the tiny restaurant did not have space for us and the owner told me that he owns the restaurant down the street and that he’d make a call and see if they can seat us. He made his call, they said yes, and he personally led us there and seated us there. After making sure we were happy and comfortable he left us in the hands of the gracious server who, when told that we wanted beef bourgignon and it wasn’t on the menu, said she will ask the other restaurant to bring over. And bring it over they did. We were provided with really tasty saucisson sec as soon as we sat down. We started with an eggplant starter. The grilled eggplants sandwiched mozzarella cheese and sundried tomatoes, sitting over delicious pesto, next to a bed of salad. It was delicious. For the main, my friend got her burgundy beef from next door(delivered by the owner), and another friend got a saint jacques scallop. For me, I ordered a plat du jour(menu of the day) — a jarret de porc, or pork knuckles with lentils. I had a taste of all the dishes and my favourite was my own. The giant knuckle was not grilled or baked, but slowcooked in a delicious soup that seeped into the meat — juicy and full of flavour! The scallops were not cooked throughout on purpose so I didn’t like the fishiness. The burgundy beef was decent. The best part besides their wonderful service was their wine prices. ¾ Bottle for 11EUR of their house red. I am definitely coming back! Love this place!

We were in the area on our recent trip to Paris and saw on Unilocal that they had a great French onion soup. Seeing that there were a few open tables, we decided to stop in for some apps, soup and wine. We were sat and then ignored for 15 minutes and I began to feel that we weren’t very welcome. Once the waiter came to take our order, he told us that he wouldn’t serve us if we were just getting soup and the restaurant wasn’t a «soup bar». I definitely(and respectfully) would not have chosen this restaurant if I knew beforehand that we needed to order appetizers, main meals and dessert! The way the waiter went about refusing service and telling us very rudely and loudly for everyone in the place to hear was very unprofessional and frankly, embarrassing! We quietly got up and left shocked that we were treated that way having been nothing but polite the entire time. I’m really bummed because it was our last day in Paris and we had just been reflecting at how polite and helpful everyone has been! I am sure the food is amazing, but would not recommend this place for anyone looking for a small meal like us(or courteous wait staff)! There are many other fabulous restaurants within an arm’s reach of this place.

We came here during our last visit in Paris, the food was so good that we came back this trip. The restaurant is tiny with a few tables outside and a couple of hard working waitresses. This place is a jewel. It was amazing meal, absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We started with escargot, poached egg in wine, eggplant and french onion soup. The french onion is the best I have ever had. The broth was amazingly light. The cheese came on the side so you can add as much or as little as desired. All of the starters were excellent. The snails came without shells in a garlicky sauce and were not the lest bit chewy. For the main I had the sea bass with vegetables. I also tried my cousin’s sea scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful. We ended the meal with crème brûlée and chocolate mousse. I think I may be unable to eat either of these anywhere else again.

Great little restaurant with friendly service. The beef bourgeon was delicious as was the other beef dish we had with foie gras on top. Prices were very reasonable and the portions we huge. Is it wrong to want to eat somewhere two night in a row? The brother has a restaurant around the corner perhaps we will go there.

Service assez long.
