A wise man once said: «New» does not always equal«better». As with many food places in Paris, you get what you pay for. So far, the«New Shanghai» has been the only place in the inner city of Paris where I could get two meals and drinks(Beer & Cola, canned) for less than 15 €. Don’t expect any miracles here. The interior is boring and a little untidy and the choice of food is a rough trip through your usual south east Asian food meccas. We choose the meal option which included a tiny hors d’oevre and a plate with some unspectacular basis(Rice or some other Rice, or SOME other Rice) in addition to a main dish, which — in any case — was some concoction of meat, fish or legumes which were laid out in a showcase. After ordering, the somewhat nonchalant lady behind the counter got the food out of the showcase, put it on plates and heated it in a dirty micro wave — yummy! While it wasn’t all that bad and probably all we could expect for 15 € in the middle of Paris, I hesitate to pay the«New Shanghai» another visit and prefer the original.

Absolument horrible, rien n’est frais et date surement de la veille voir plus… le personnel est en plus désagréable et tout est chère…a fuir.

Open early, open late, open all day(meaning they don’t close between 2 and 7). Outrageous value — for example, nems for 0 € 55/piece(not kidding). Plus their shrimp, chicken and noodles are fantastic. A great meal for 6 or 7 Euro top. Dine in or take away. Seriously good fast food.
