Comforts of home. Good coffee in the 7th. Young hip crowd. I need caffeine to fight the jet lag!!!

Happy to see the Starbucks here in Paris are still cozy places to go. The ones in the U.S. Have been stripped down to nothing and are not worth visiting any more. :(

Not perfect choice for this Stabucks place but it’s nice to find another one while you just throw your last crucible into trash.

It’s kind of lame that we stopped at TWO Starbucks while in Paris, but there was Frappé Happy Hour, and some of the flavours offered in Paris aren’t available in the US! We dropped by this one while on our seemingly endless trek to the Eiffel Tower. The review that comments on the seating layout is accurate, but fortunately there were enough people in our party to scout out a table while the other was ordering our drinks. There is free wi-fi, though you have to fill out a form with some information before you are allowed access. There is a restroom in the back, but be aware that the door only leads to a waiting area for the one bathroom(and no separate rooms for men/women), and there’ll probably be a small crowd crammed into the waiting area.

I go to two starbucks in Paris, the one next to place victor hugo and the one on rue saint domnique in the 7th. Both are great, but they are compelte opposites. The one in the 7th has a fun, young and charismatic staff, but the one in the 16th(victor Hugo) is a lot bigger and better for studying. The larger coffee tables and couches provide for some good seats when needing to debrief about some juicy gossip over lattes with friends. If you are going to talk shit beware everyone is American so make up a secret language. The products are typical Starbucks products always good. The oj is fresh and delicious and actually some of the best in the city.

I had an 90 minutes to kill between meetings and I hit the streets looking for a Starbucks — that’s right, I said it… I sought Starbucks. And, I found this one which is very cool. The service was good and friendly. Coffee was good — not outrageously great, but good. And most of all, I was able to sit down on one of several over-stuffed chairs for a few moments of thinking and writing. You know — your basic Starbucks or «coffee place» experience. Yeah I know I’m in Paris and you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an oh-so-French café’s, but that’s not what I wanted at that moment. I wanted the experience I’m used to which is one of the best American exports to come along in years. Apparently I’m not alone because by the time I left, it was standing room only. At this point, I was quite thankful for my seat, realizing that sometimes getting a good seat is the luck of the draw and not worth getting all butt-hurt when you don’t. From now on I’ll take extra time to visit here whenever I’m in this area. By the way, the view from the front door is of the Tower Eiffel — lest you forget where you are.

I don’t normally write a review on a Starbucks, but this location has earned one. Coffee and food is typical of any Starbucks. SERVICE: Because of the way this store is laid out, one cannot see if there is an open seat when ordering. Therefore, it would be appreciated if the Starbucks folks at this location would not allow you to order food to stay when there are no seats available. After ordering my coffee and food(on a plate), I walked around the corner to the tables and there were no open seats. Everything was taken by folks on PCs or sleeping.
