I hit this place right before closing time so I don’t think they were overly thrilled. I liked the layout and décor. There was a second floor that want in use that would have been cool. I had the veal over pasta and it was great. I really enjoyed it.

I’ve been dreaming of the charcuterie platter since coming back to the States. I’ve tried to reproduce it at home and I can’t match it in content or price. My mom and I were spend our last day in Paris and popped in her for a quick bite. And, we found this place which could easily be a tourist trap but isn’t. The service was lovely and prices, by Paris standards, were reasonable. I’m trying to track down the ham I had. It was the perfect meal for a terrific Parisian afternoon.

The Welcome Café is a great spot for your morning and/or afternoon tea as the tea served is pretty tasty. Actually ordered breakfast this time around and it wasn’t too bad at all, actually quite pleasant. Had the ham & cheese omelette, a fresh squeezed OJ and a baguette. The taste was good and the service was decent. Overall, Welcome Café is a decent breakfast/lunch or tea spot especially if you plan on spending the day at the nearby Louvre. Pros– Large and clean restaurant Nice menu options Teas Outdoor seating Location Cons– Food was just decent Limited breakfast options Average service

Started out great with escargot and then soups. Went down the drain when the veal scallopine arrived — tough as nails(overcooked), tasteless and lukewarm. Asked for something else and was refused! Chef came out and told me I was wrong! Had to pay for the dish with only two or three bites taken! Such arrogance and complete lack of customer satisfaction! STAYOUTOFTHISPLACE — too many good alternatives close by!

This is an okay spot to refuel while touring the main Paris drag or to have a drink when thirsty. The prices fit with the location. The service is reasonably quick except when it is flat out busy and full. The food is satisfactory but nothing special. I had«fish and chips» which was a tiny frozen single battered fish fillet, overcooked, with a mountain of frites and the wrong sauce option to what I had ordered. Barely enough fish for a cat for 20 euro. Wine was 8 euro a glass(small). The older lady running the floor was courteous and managed the floor staff well(they seem to turn over a lot). The place is clean and the staff are courteous to the tourists but when they bring out American Heinz condiments to go with the fish(ketchup and mustard) you realise what they have to put up with on a daily basis from the American customers.

A very touristy spot with«meh» food. It’s good if you happen to want a beer and your staying in one of the nearby hotels. Other than that, I would look for somewhere else to go.

Love their onion soup. Surprisingly, whatever I have ordered has been very good. Can’t say that about some of the other cafes I have visited in Paris. Terry, who has worked there for a long time, is welcoming, fluent in several languages and whatever food item you question him about he has the answer. Excellent waiter. He is one that gives French waiters a good name.

Decent lunch with a very welcoming staff. Surprisingly affordable lunch on Rue de Rivoli with very typical dishes. It won’t be your most memorable French meal, but it’s a nice spot in an expensive area if you just need a bite to eat.
