I think this place speaks for itself. It doesn’t need reviews but I want to leave one if only so I have a reminder of where to go when I’m in the region next. We had a tasting of 4 whites(all Chardonnays) and 2 reds(pinots). Of course everything was excellent, but one of the wines, the 2012 Saint Aubin 1er Cru, stands out as the best Chardonnay I’ve ever tasted. If my husband and I weren’t traveling and living out of a suitcase for several months we would have bought a few bottles of this. It makes me sad to think I may never see this wine again, but I’ll try my best to find it somewhere, someday.

Like the unplanned bike trip for the day, we stopped by the Caveau de Puligny-Montrachet to get out of the sudden down pour of the early June afternoon. After bottles of Cremant de Burgourgne, a surprisingly tasty young 2009 Santenay, and a 2005 Premier Cru Nuits Saint Georges split between a half dozen Kiwis and the 3 soaked Americans(us), we didn’t want to leave the wonderful people at the CPM! Stop by — you will NOT be disappointed! Sante!
